6 Hybrid Wristlet Durable and comfortable thumb locator option, doesn t interfere with glove donning. Heat-channel Knee Offers three to four times the NFPA minimum level of required protection. Waterwell Wristlets Wristlets attached to the waterwell prevent contaminated water from running down your sleeves when you raise your arms. 5-Panel Design Conforms to the shape of the upper body, mimicking the natural stance of the arms and torso and providing you with enhanced comfort and freedom of movement. Double-felled Stitch in Major Seams Double-stitched and double-felled seams on all three garment layers increases durability and decreases the risk of fabric or seams fraying. In-Collar DRD This proprietary design places the DRD access port in the collar instead of further down the back of the jacket, ensuring clear visibility and easy access. Dyna-Fit Suspenders Have no midback hardware and comfortably stay in place because of an interplay of the suspender loops. BiFlex Heat-channel Knee Uses five layers of protection in the primary kneeling area and reduced layering for less centered areas. Sidewinder Pocket Follows the seam of the garment, and its location was moved from the front to the side of the coat, making the pockets accessible while wearing an SCBA. TES (Thermal Enhancement System) A layer of mesh in the garment design on the upper torso and arms all areas typically exposed to compression and the highest thermal load dramatically increases TPP with no significant impact on THL and without adding bulk. I-Tech Knee System Reduces the risk of injury from water contact or a break in the barrier system with removable inserts made of a highly flexible, flame-resistant elastomeric compound positioned in a proprietary pocket system. Underarm Gussets The extra fabric in all three layers of the garment maximize comfort and minimize coat rise without adding bulk. Angled Cuffs Feature a cutout above the hem, eliminating extra fabric bulk. This improves your movement by decreasing the chance of stepping on or tripping over excess material. Waterproof Wristlets Two double-layer Nomex wristlets are mounted directly to the moisture barrier for a continuous liquid seal. T-Closer System This progressive design integrates the storm flap and throat strap into one uninterrupted piece to provide a secure, singleaction closure without gaps. Proprietary Zip-in Liner Attaches the outer shell to the moisture barrier and thermal liner, completely eliminating the risk of gaps between the outer shell and thermal liner. Flex Back Pleats Allow better movement and reach by not restricting the shoulders or arms across the back. I was out on the bow of the deck hooking up our anchor mooring for the night. I noticed a larger than normal wave coming at the boat. I dropped my anchor line to run to the upper deck but the wave got me first, washing me down the side of the boat. I was able to get my foot wrapped around a pipe and that held me in place preventing me from being washed out to sea. I truly believe if it wasn t for my Ranger boots, holding up to the punishment of that night, I would not be here today.
