Every site is unique depending on elevator hoistway and elevator machine room configuration. The project s architect is responsible for determining the correct fire detector and alarm equipment necessary for the application. Niagara Belco is not responsible for determining what, if any, site specific equipment will be deemed necessary, or for providing the fire detector and alarm equipment. All new LULA installations require Phase 1 recall (ASME A /CSA ) ta be activated by fire alarm devices which are part of a fire alarm system. If possible all these devices and relays shall be part of the building fire alarm system if one exists. 0. Reg 350/ (2) If the existing fire alarm system does not contain the required detectors or is not able to provide the required relay outputs, Or There is no fire alarm system required or existing. Then a Protected Premises fire alarm system (CAD 250/11 A.1 (i) which only meets our requirements shall be provided. Code Adoption Document r (c) Input Devices Smoke detectors (or heat detectors if area not suitable for smoke detectors) shall be located; (Code Adoption Document r ) -At each elevator lobby (Code Adoption Document r (1)) -In the elevator machine room (Code Adoption Document r (2)) Smoke detectors(or heat detectors if area not suitable for smoke detectors) are not required to be installed in the elevator shaft by the elevator code (Code Adoption Document r (3)), but if they are installed as part of a building fire alarm system, then an alarm from these devices shall activate the appropriate relays below.
