17 Radon Division Radon Certifying radon laboratories, mitigators and testers. Performing routine inspections of radon laboratories, mitigators and testers. Performing blind testing on radon-detection devices. Developing and maintaining databases for calculations, tracking data, surveys, and enforcement; Maintaining and configuring DEP databases with BIS for certification tracking. Providing Hot Spot surveys in areas of high radon activity. Providing a wide variety of public information services to increase public awareness of the radon issue. Performing radon related research projects and contributing technical information to the radon industry.
18 Radon Certification A minor regulatory change was incorporated in 2008, which included a fee increase. Prior to that there were no changes since its inception in 1991.

20 Radon Certification Some important changes: Schools and local government must now pass exam, take course and use secondary device. Limited the size of testing and mitigation firms Deleted radon exposure tracking Post-mitigation testing by third party tester.
