11 Regulations and Guidelines Inspections we could see Routine inspections NRC for the Reactor NRC for the SNM license DPH for the Broad scope DPH for the Accelerator DPH for the Laser program DPH for the X-ray program DPH increased controls Non-Routine Inspection examples DOT, NRC and DPH special inspections, EPA, OSHA, etc.

12 Regulations and Guidelines Regulators evaluate license applications and inspections based on NRC issued Regulatory guides and NUREG Reports. 13 Regulations and Guidelines Executive Management, The Radiation Safety Committee, and Radiation Safety Officer work as a team to oversee the broad scope program. Each Plays a Critical Role within its area of responsibility NUREG 1556 Vol 11 Section 8.7 We have incorporated this and all other applicable regulatory guidance material into our revised RSC charter.

Review and approve New Radiation laboratories, Authorized Users, subcommittee members, the charter updates as necessary, Conduct annually a program audit Review the minutes or reports presented by all the subcommittees

16 Roles and Responsibilities Using sound radiation safety judgment and working together we will.. Review and make recommendations with respect to financial and administrative support of the Radiation Safety Office; The RSC reviews resources of the safety office and if the committee finds it is not getting adequate support (financial, facilities, etc.) you can appeal directly to the administration to obtain assistance.
