2 Introduction Blick TV Distribution Systems are one of the largest installers and maintainers of Digital TV Communal Aerial Systems throughout the UK. Now part of The Stanley Works, a $3 billion turnover company, Blick is well placed to meet the individual needs of Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Private Landlords, providing Digital TV to their residents through Integrated Reception Systems (IRS) which avoid the risk of aerial/dish proliferation. Most landlords acknowledge that TV aerial services are one of the essential services offered to residents. With digital penetration now exceeding 70% of UK homes* and the Government s announcement of their intention to switch off analogue signals between 2008 and 2012, demand for digital television has never been greater. Integrated Reception System (IRS) with both Satellite and Terrestrial Digital. Installing a new IRS system reduces the risk of dish and aerial proliferation and offers residents in flats the same television viewing options as those living in houses. A basic integrated reception system provides the following services: BBC Freeview via a Digital compatible aerial Sky Digital via a communal satellite dish including Sky Freesat, subscription free services Digital Radio via a communal DAB aerial FM radio via a communal FM aerial Recommended Options, subject to circumstances are: Sky + which provides a second Sky channel into the home via a second cable. This also facilitates High Definition Television (HDTV). Hotbird Foreign Channels via a second communal dish The services are gathered together at the system head end and distributed through a new cable network to each home, terminating at a master outlet socket, as shown. 5 Strategic Partnering Solutions Stanley Blick s strategic partnering solutions provide the capital finance to fund the design, equipment installation and servicing for new IRS systems. No capital outlay, we invoice a quarterly service charge to the landlord or managing agent In some cases this can be recovered from residents via their service charges ( please check with your housing management team) In some areas residents on low income may have the service charge met through housing benefit ( check with your housing management team) We include full maintenance for the term of the agreement which assures you of our vested interest in the quality of the installation In house finance means the agreement is directly with Blick, there are no third party leasing companies, which means you have long term leverage over our performance. You are protected against equipment obsolescence, unlike a capital purchase this risk remains with Blick The agreement can be re-assigned in event of stock transfer
