4 4 Product presentation VL120 Product presentation VL120 Multi blade smoke evacuation damper with a minimum fire resistance of 120 minutes. The damper is made out of fire resistant gypsum boards and equipped with a Belimo BR-motor with BSIA-module to operate the damper with an electrical impulse or a power interruption. The damper is available in following dimensions: W x H 350 x 200 till 700 (2L), 525 x 200 till 1000 mm (3L) and 700 x 250 till 1000 mm (H by increments of 50 mm). Smoke evacuation shutters and dampers are suitable for use in ventilating protected lobbies, venting to shafts either naturally or mechanically. 5 Storage and handling 5 Storage and handling As this product is a safety element, it should be stored and handled with care. Avoid: any kind of impact or damage contact with water deformation of the casing It is recommended: to unload in a dry area not to flip or roll the product to move it not to use the damper as a scaffold, working table, etc. not to store smaller dampers inside larger ones Installation General points The installation must comply with the classification report and the installation manual delivered with the product. The installation of the shaft must comply with the classification report delivered by the manufacturer. Axis orientation: see the declaration of performance. Avoid obstruction of adjoining ducts. Verify if the blade can move freely. Rf-t smoke dampers may be applied to ducts that have been tested according to EN and EN as appropriate, constructed from similar materials with a fire resistance, thickness and density equal or superior to these of the tested materials. Caution: when fitting, the product should be handled with care and remain protected from any sealing products. Caution: before putting the installation into operation, clean off all the dust and dirt. Caution: bear in mind the blade's clearance inside the smoke evacuation duct.

6 6 Installation Installation in vertical shaft C Wn x Hn e s Wn x Hn s (Wn+85) x (Hn+245) mm (Wn+85+2s) x (Hn+245+2s) mm A Preparation: - Prepare the parts necessary for a sleeve of the same type and thickness as the duct (thickness e ) with following dimensions: depth outside the shaft minimum 200 mm, W x H = external dimensions of the damper + 12 mm. - Prepare a stud (B) of the same type as the duct with dimensions Wn x e x 42 mm. Make an opening with dimensions (Wn) x (Hn+A) mm. A = thickness sleeve (e) + max 6 mm (s). Position and affix the bottom of the sleeve (A) in the opening. Position and fasten the stud (B) at the back of the bottom part of the sleeve. Mount the damper on the sleeve against the opening and fix it with Promacol S. The joint (s) between the damper casing and the duct needs to be filled right across the width with Promacol S. Assemble the rest of the sleeve (C) around the damper. Fasten the elements in the same manner as the rest of the shaft. The joint (s) between the damper casing and the sleeve needs to be filled right across the width with Promacol S. Promacol S glue Maintenance No specific maintenance required. Schedule at least two running checks each year. Remove dust and all other particles before start-up. Follow the local maintenance regulations (i.e. BS9999 Annex V; NF S ) and EN13306.

7 Operation and mechanisms 7 Operation and mechanisms B 2448 E Actuator for remote control of smoke control dampers The actuator BR with BSIA module is designed to remotely control smoke control dampers. The BSIA E module allows to control the damper through a power impulse. B 2448 R Actuator for remote control of smoke control dampers The actuator BR with BSIA module is designed to remotely control smoke control dampers. The BSIA R module allows to control the damper through a power interruption. 1. access for manual resetting 2. plug (ST) 3. BSIA module Unlocking manual unlocking: turn the enclosed handle clockwise. remote unlocking: Through a voltage pulse or a power interruption (depending on the type E or R) of 0.7 s duration to terminals 3/4. Caution: Do not use a drill or screwing machine. Resetting manual resetting: turn the enclosed handle anti-clockwise. motorised resetting: Switch off the power on terminals 1 and 2 for at least 5 s. Power terminals 1 and 2 (respect the prescribed voltage) for 70 s. The motor stops automatically by reaching its end of range (damper closed) or when the power is interrupted. Resetting takes approx. 60s. Caution: Do not use a drill or screwing machine. Stop as soon as the motor is completely rearmed (end of range). Caution: The mechanism may never be tested on its own, without being attached to the damper. Such a test might damage the mechanism or the operator might be injured.
