The hydraulic cylinders protect the drill frame eliminating bounce even at high drilling speeds. The picture shows the hydraulic in shallow work and in deep work. Shallow work Deep work

3 Direct drilling in dry conditions The Ultima direct drilling in dry conditions. The high point pressure of more than 200kgs guarantees precise depth even in dry conditions. The point lifts the soil and produces a tilth to cover the seed. Optium row spacing The seed is placed in 60mm rows. Band spacing is mm depending on model. The seed spacing allows each plant its own space and nutrition leading to a healthier plant. The point pressure of more than 200kg produces a constant sowing depth. This is particularly important whether sowing shallow to rape or deep beans and peas. The ULTIMA sowing system The pre-press roller first presses the soil, the point opens a drill and the seed is placed onto firm ground. The leveller placed in front of the STS roller covers the seed and levels the soil before it is re-consolidated by the STS roller. A sowing depth of 6-7cm is illustrated.

4 Flexible usage Consistent weight distribution Whether working on ploughed ground, mulch ground or direct, the weight of the ULTIMA is carried on the pre-press rollers. The large transport wheels are raised during work allowing the weight of the machine (including a full tank of 3000 litres) to transfer to the pre-press wheels and the STS roller. This prevents sinking on light soils or wet conditions. As the weight is not carried on a central packer roller the rolling resistance is reduced. Press, sow, level, press Sowing on plough ground or mulch ground the reconsolidation allows even germination. In front of the sowing tine the prepress and depth guide roller firms the ground. After sowing the levellers even the soil and the STS rollers reconsolidates. The STS roller is constructed so that a roller ring matches a sowing element. This ensures that the total soil area is not firmed avoiding the danger of capping. The ULTIMA sowing maize The maize crop illustrated was sown spring The maize followed maize, slurry, one pass with a cultivator and sown with the ULTIMA at 36cm rows (every other sowing element closed). The plants germinated quickly and evenly.
