In case of poisoning call a physician and make this label available. Aerial application: Notify all inhabitants in the immediate vicinity of the lands to be sprayed and issue the necessary warnings. Do not spray over or allow drift to contaminate water or adjacent areas. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be effective under all conditions. The activity and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, incompatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weed against the remedy, as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal, or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure by the user to follow the label instructions, or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS: Do not inhale fumes or spray mist. Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear protective clothing, a face shield, rubber gloves and rubber boots when handling the concentrate, preparing the spray mixture and when applying. In case of accidental eye contact, flush with plenty of water and get medical attention if necessary. Wash with soap and water after use and accidental skin contact as well as contaminated clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or applying the product or before washing hands and face. CLAW 500/03/01/

3 Avoid drift of spray onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. Clean applicator before using with other materials. Dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate food, grazing, rivers or dams. TRIPLE RINSE empty containers in the following manner. Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner. Destroy empty container by perforation and flattening and dispose of it in a safe way. Never re-use the empty container for any other purpose. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils. SYMPTOMS OF HUMAN POISONING The product may cause irritation to the skin, may cause an allergic skin reaction and skin sensitization. May cause mucous membrane irritation and irritation to the eyes. In case a large quantity was ingested, symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal distress and diarrhoea. FIRST AID TREATMENT Skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing, shoes and leather goods (e.g. watchbands, belts). Gently wipe off excess chemical. Wash skin gently and thoroughly with large amount of water and non-abrasive soap. If irritation persists, obtain medical attention. Eye contact: Immediately flush the contaminated eyes with gently flowing water for 20 minutes, holding the eyelid(s) open until no evidence of chemical remains. If irritation persists, obtain medical attention. Inhalation: Remove source of contamination or move victim to fresh air. Keep patient under observation and obtain medical attention if irritation persists. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Have victim rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Administration of gastric lavage or oxygen should be performed by qualified medical personnel. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN No signs and symptoms of poisoning are known or expected in humans. No specific antidote is available. Treat symptomatically and supportively when required. When large amounts have been ingested, consider gastric lavage or administer activated charcoal. RESISTANCE WARNING: CLAW 500 SC is a group code K3 herbicide. Any weed population may contain individuals naturally resistant to CLAW 500 SC and any other group code K3 herbicides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds may not be controlled by CLAW 500 SC or any other group code K3 herbicide. To delay herbicide resistance: Avoid exclusive repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide group code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different herbicide group codes, Integrate other control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into weed control programmes. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. CLAW 500/03/01/

4 DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed. Compatibility: CLAW 500 SC is compatible when tank mixed with: PRODUCT Ametryn Atrazine 500 g/l SC Diuron 800 SC Oxyfluorfen 240 EC Paraquat Metribuzin 480 SC Mixing instructions Half fill the spray-tank with clean water. Pre-mix the required volume of CLAW 500 SC with at least 10 l of water and add to the spray tank. With the agitator engaged, the spray tank should then be filled with water to the final volume required. Agitation is essential during mixing and spraying to ensure that the mixture is thoroughly dispersed. The spray mixture should be used as soon as possible after preparation and should not be left to stand in the spray tank for any length of time, e.g. overnight. Tank mixtures When tank-mixing CLAW 500 SC with other products, (see recommendations made in the APPLICATION TABLES below), always ensure that the partner product is added to the water first followed by CLAW 500 SC just before the tank is topped up to the required volume. The exception to this rule is oxyfluorfen 240 EC which should be added to the mixture after the CLAW 500 SC has already been added. USE RESTRICTIONS CLAW 500 SC can only be used for pre-emergence weed control in broccoli, cabbage, canola, groundnuts, potatoes, dry beans, Soybeans, tobacco and for pre- and early postemergence weed control in sugar cane and forestry. Do not apply CLAW 500 SC to poorly drained soils or soils with a compaction layer since the product may cause damage to the crops under waterlogged or supersaturated conditions. Do not apply CLAW 500 SC to inbred parent plants of hybrids or to experimental or newly released- cultivars without first checking with the distributor or manufacturer of CLAW 500 SC or with the seed supplier. When CLAW 500 SC is used in a tank mixture with other herbicides, always observe the relevant WARNINGS, and USE RESTRICTIONS stated on the labels of the products concerned especially with regard to follow up crops. IMPORTANT NOTES FOR WEED CONTROL BY MEANS OF TANK MIXTURES: Always consult the labels of all the products involved for specific instructions. Observe the withholding periods indicated on the labels of the products involved. When CLAW 500 SC is tank-mixed with triazine-containing products it is essential to ensure that the total amount of triazines will not exceed the maximum permissible dosage rate per season as indicated on the respective product labels. Check with your local CLAW 500 SC supplier for more details. CLAW 500/03/01/

5 Specific crops Dry beans, soybeans and tobacco Do not apply CLAW 500 SC as a single, full rate treatment on dry beans, soybeans, and tobacco on soils containing less than 15 % clay. Dry beans, groundnuts and soyabeans- Do not apply CLAW 500 SC to leguminous crops at the cracking stage or after the groundnuts or soybeans have actually emerged as the product may cause damage during these stages. (See also WARNINGS). Dry beans and Soybeans: Crop damage may result from any one or a combination of the following: prolonged cool and wet weather conditions / or infection of young seedlings by soil or seed born diseases or seed planted too deep or too shallow. As a precaution it is recommended that dry bean seed should be treated with a suitable fungicide (seed treatment). Tobacco: Only strong healthy plants should be selected for planting and ensure that the roots are well settled into the soil. After application of CLAW 500 SC to tobacco, plants accidentally covered by spray mixture may show stunted growth for a few weeks, but this condition is temporary and normal leaf yields can be expected. The likelihood of damage occurring is enhanced by the following conditions: When diseased, weak and / or damaged plants are used for transplanting When plants are planted carelessly with roots curled up or exposed to the herbicides at the time of treatment. When tobacco is planted in very stony or gravel-like soil. When sudden, heavy rainfall occurs shortly after application of CLAW 500 SC. When tobacco seedlings are planted after application of CLAW 500 SC to replace missing plants (ie stand replenishment). Application methods CLAW 500 SC can be applied as an overall spray in a minimum of 200 l water /ha or as a band application with the appropriate, corresponding amount of water/ha. The spray equipment should be in good working order and must be accurately calibrated. A functional agitator is an essential requirement. Use appropriate spray nozzles (e.g. fan-type) to ensure that the spray liquid is eventually distributed over the target area. Timing CLAW 500 SC must be applied within 5 days after THE LAST SOIL CULTIVATION or after transplanting of seedlings (as recommended in TABLES I AND II below). It is therefore important that the crop is planted as soon as possible after the last soil cultivation and that another soil cultivation should be carried out if planting is delayed for 5 or more days. Recommendations for weed control General CLAW 500 SC only controls germinating weeds. For optimum weed control the seedbed must be fine, firm and free of any plant material. Weeds that have already emerged at the time of application will not be controlled and must be removed either by hand or mechanically. For optimum results, CLAW 500 SC treatments should be followed by about 15 mm of rain or sprinkler irrigation. This should occur as soon as possible after application and before any weeds emerge. Flood irrigation is not recommended. If rainfall or irrigation does not occur in time and weeds begin to emerge then a shallow cultivation must be carried out to destroy these weeds and to mix the herbicides with the top mm of soil. 6 Yellow nutsedge control Only germinating bulbs, freshly sprouted plants, and seedlings growing below the soil surface will be affected by CLAW 500 SC. Dormant bulbs and plants growing from considerable soil depths that cannot be reached by the herbicide as well as plants that have already emerged will not be controlled. Therefore, acceptable yellow nutsedge control by CLAW 500 SC can only be achieved when the following conditions are met: Planting is immediately preceded by thorough ploughing with a mouldboard plough. The seedbed is even and firm and has a fine tilth. The herbicide is washed into the soil by at least mm of rain or irrigation on lighter soils, and by mm on heavier soils before the yellow nutsedge has emerged. GENERAL PRE-EMERGENCE WEED CONTROL IN BROCCOLI, CABBAGE, CANOLA, DRY BEANS, GROUNDNUTS, POTATOES, SOYBEANS, AND TOBACCO. APPLICATION TABLE I See WARNINGS and USE RESTRICTIONS. Dry beans, Groundnuts, Soybeans and Potatoes. Under conditions where late geminating and / or unaffected - broadleaf weeds or yellow nutsedge have to be controlled, it is recommended that the initial CLAW 500 SC treatment is followed up with a suitable post-emergence herbicide. Similarly, in the case of unaffected or late emerging grass weeds use a suitable post-emergence grass herbicide. Check with your CLAW 500 SC supplier for more details. Potatoes Volcano Metribuzin 480 SC can be tank mixed with CLAW 500 SC at a dosage rate of 1,1 l/ha to enhance the control of broadleaf weeds. Refer to Mixing Instructions for more information. Tobacco Apply CLAW 500 SC only between plant rows and in such a way that a 20 cm strip on top of the ridges is left untreated (i.e. 10 cm on both sides of the plant row.) In cases where unaffected and / or late emerging grass weeds must be controlled it is recommended that a suitable grass herbicide be applied. Extended control of grasses and broadleaf weeds in dry beans and potatoes Should extended control of late emerging grasses and broadleaf weeds be required, a split application as indicated in APPLICATION TABLE II is recommended. In this instance the second application should be applied over the crop immediately after the last cultivation or ridging, but before emergence of the weeds. Do not treat dry beans growing in soil types containing less than 10% clay. Note: When a shallow cultivation is carried to improve aeration of the soil, this cultivation should take place immediately PRIOR TO the follow-up application. CLAW 500/03/01/

For mixing procedures refer to Tank mixes under MIXING INSTRUCTIONS Read and follow all instructions given on the labels of products used in combination with CLAW 500 SC. Before planting alternative crops on fields previously treated with CLAW 500 SC / atrazine combinations, ensure that the required waiting periods, (as given on the atrazine 500 SC label containing products), are adhered to. The dosage rate of Ametryn is dependent on the growth stage and intensity of weeds. (Refer to the Ametryn label). Where early post-emergence treatments (including Paraquat 200SL) are applied, care must be taken to adhere to instructions relating to directed / inter-row spraying as this product combination can cause severe scorching or damage to emerging sugar cane. IMPORTANT NOTE: A suitable wetter / sticker should be added to all post emergence treatments as recommended above. Forestry Apply CLAW 500 SC in a tank mix with oxyfluorfen 240 EC over the top of the transplanted Pines and Eucalyptus species, pre- or post emergence of the weeds. When CLAW 500 SC is used in a tank mixture with oxyfluorfen 240 EC as a post emergence application, the weeds must be young, tender, actively growing and preferably in the seedling stage. Large or well-established weeds will not be controlled. Avoid unnecessary coverage of the transplants by applying a directed spray. Where CLAW 500 SC plus oxyfluorfen 240 EC is applied over the top of Eucalyptus species, a degree of scorch will occur. This normally disappears within 6 weeks and has no detrimental effects on development of the trees.
