Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. Store in the original container in a cool, dry, well ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Store away from food and feeds. Aerial application: Notify all inhabitants in the immediate vicinity of the area to be sprayed and issue the necessary warnings. Do not allow spray or spray drift to contaminate any water body or adjacent areas. Incorrect dosage rate or crop growth stage at application may result in crop injury. Although this herbicide has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effects thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weeds against the herbicide as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the herbicide due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS: Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product nor before washing after use. Do not contaminate eating utensils, food, feeds, drinking water nor water bodies. When mixing, wear eye protection and rubber gloves. Do not inhale dust. When spraying, avoid contact with and do not inhale spray mist. Do not allow spray to drift on to susceptible crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. In the case of dust or spray contact with eyes, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. In the case of contact with skin, immediately wash thoroughly with soap and water. Contaminated clothing should be removed and washed before using again. COLONY 750 WP/JUL09/JUN

3 Spray Equipment Cleaning: After use, the application spray equipment must be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned in an open, well ventilated area before re-use. (i) Drain the tank and spray equipment completely and flush the entire system with clean water for 10 minutes; (ii) Fill the spray tank with clean water and add 1.0 l of household ammonia (contains 3.0%) for every 100 l water or use a specific cleaning agent such as AllFarmers Boom & Spray Cleaner according to label directions; (iii) With continual agitation, flush the spray system for at least 15 minutes and then drain completely; (iv) (v) repeat steps (ii) and (iii); (v) rinse the spray tank and entire system with clean water; Remove nozzles and all filters and clean them separately with the above cleaning mixture. Dispose of cleaning water where it will not contaminate plants or where their roots may extend. Do not use chlorine containing cleaning agents. Container Disposal: Do not re-use empty container. Destroy the empty container. RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING: The use of sulphonylurea herbicides over a number of consecutive seasons in the same land can possibly select out naturally occurring resistant weeds. Over time these resistant weeds can become dominant and sulphonylurea herbicides, such as Colony 750 WP, will not control them. To avoid the development of resistance, it is recommended to either use a tankmix with a complementary herbicide that will also control the weeds effectively or to use a herbicide with a different mode of action. Any weed escapes should not be allowed to set seed. Consult the supplier to formulate a weed resistance management strategy. Variable weed control may be experienced on light sandy soils that leach and/or soils that become waterlogged and/or in soils containing many pebbles and stones and/or when application is made to weeds that have developed beyond the recommended application growth stage. USE RESTRICTIONS: Do not apply to crops that are suffering from stress caused by factors such as drought, waterlogging, excessive soil acidity or alkalinity, poor nutrient status, disease or pest damage. Spray water should not be over ph 7.5. Avoid the use of hard water for spraying. Spray solutions must be sprayed immediately after mixing and should not be allowed to stand, especially not overnight. Rain or irrigation immediately after spraying and before the spray solution has dried, may result in reduced weed control efficacy. A rain-free period of at least 4 hours after application is recommended. Do not apply to furrow or flood irrigated cereals. Do not apply to cereals undersown with pastures. As soil ph increases above 6.5, the degradation of chlorsulfuron decreases. This results in extended residual activity and the possibility of increased crop injury. Crops other than barley, oats and wheat can be sensitive to residues of chlorsulfuron in the soil. Adhere to the recommended waiting periods indicated. Rotation Crops: Do not plant crops other than cereals within 20 months of a chlorsulfuron treatment. COLONY 750 WP/JUL09/JUN

4 Cereal Crops: Wheat may be planted 6 months after and barely and oats 10 months after a chlorsulfuron treatment on soils up to ph 7.5. The more acid a soil is, the shorter the waiting period before planting. Do not apply in tank mix with chlorpyrifos insecticide. Chlorsulfuron and diclofop-methyl can be applied in a tank mix. When applied individually, there must be at least 10 days between the application of each product. Grazing: In order to allow time for the herbicide to be taken up by the target weeds, do not graze livestock in treated areas within 24 hours of application. A nil withholding period is applicable for grazing Colony 750 WP areas. DIRECTIONS FOR USE USE ONLY AS DIRECTED USE OF A SURFACTANT OR WETTING AGENT: For post-emergence application of Colony 750 WP, a wetting agent must be added according to the label recommendations. Do not add wetting agent if used in combination with a product containing a wetting agent or surfactant in the formulation. The use of spray oils is not recommended. Colony 750 WP can be applied with CerreNat E30 (Reg.No. L 6505) or other wetting agents. Before using a wetting agent, test it with Colony 750 WP to ensure compatibility. There are many types of wetting agents available and not all are compatible with this product. Consult the supplier in the case of any uncertainty. Crop Growth Stage: Apply when the crop is between the 3 to 6 leaf stage. Weed Growth Stage: Apply when weeds are between the 2 to 8 leaf stage (seedlings at approximately 2 to 4 weeks after emergence). Established weeds will not be controlled. Weeds should be vigorous and not suffering from any stress when sprayed. Weeds germinating after application will not be controlled. Mixing: 1. mix the required amount of Colony 750 WP in a small amount of water to form a slurry free of any granules; 2. half fill the spray tank with clean water and agitate continuously during mixing and spraying; 3. add the Colony 750 WP slurry to the water; 4. add the complementary herbicide where required; 5. add the surfactant or wetting agent Application: Avoid overlapping of spray swaths and spraying while equipment is turning at a reduced speed which will result in an increased dosage being applied with the possibility of crop injury. All equipment must be correctly and accurately calibrated to give an even droplet distribution on the target area. Do not spray when wind speed exceeds 15 km/hour and/or when the relative humidity is below 45% and/or when weather conditions are absolutely still. GROUND APPLICATION: Spray at between 100 l and 400 l per hectare, preferably at a low pressure to avoid spray drift. COLONY 750 WP/JUL09/JUN

5 AERIAL APPLICATION: Aerial application of COLONY 750 WP may only be done by a registered Aerial Application Operator using a correctly calibrated, registered aircraft according to the instructions of SABS Code 0118 (Aerial Application of Agricultural Pesticides). Ensure that the spray mixture is distributed evenly over the target area and that the loss of spray material during application is restricted to a minimum. It is therefore essential that the following criteria be met: Volume: A spray mixture volume of 30 l per hectare is recommended. As this product has not been evaluated at a reduced volume rate, the registration holder cannot guarantee efficacy, or be held responsible for any adverse effects if this product is applied aerially at a lower volume rate than recommended above. Droplet coverage: 30 to 40 droplets per cm² must be recovered at the target area. Droplet size: A droplet spectrum with a VMD of 250 to 280 microns is recommended. Limit the production of fine droplets less than 150 microns (high drift and evaporation potential) to a minimum. Flying height: Maintain the height of the spray boom at 3 to 4 metres above the target. Do not spray when aircraft dives, is in a climb or when banking Use suitable atomising equipment that will produce the desired droplet size and coverage, but which will ensure the minimum loss of product. The spraying system must produce a droplet spectrum with the lowest possible Relative Span. Position all the atomisers within the inner 60 to 75 % of the wingspan to prevent droplets from entering the wingtip vortices. The difference in temperature between the wet and dry bulb thermometers, of a whirling hygrometer, should not exceed 8 C. Stop spraying if the wind speed exceeds 15 km/h. Stop spraying under turbulent, unstable and dry conditions during the heat of the day. Spraying under temperature inversion conditions (spraying in or above the inversion layer) and/or high humidity conditions (relative humidity 80 % and above) may lead to the following: - reduced efficacy due to suspension and evaporation of small droplets in the air (inadequate coverage). - damage to other sensitive crops and/or non-target areas through drifting of the suspended spray cloud away from the target field. Ensure that the Aerial Spray Operator knows exactly which fields to spray. Obtain an assurance from the Aerial Spray Operator that the above requirements will be met and that relevant data will be compiled in a logbook and kept for future reference. Herbicide Tank Mix Options: To improve the weed control spectrum and to reduce the possibility of weed resistance, Colony 750 WP can be sprayed at the recommended rates in combination with either bromoxynil or MCPA at the dosage rates as recommended on the product label. Adhere to all instructions on the label of tank mix products. COLONY 750 WP/JUL09/JUN

6 DOSAGE RATE RECOMMENDATION Where a dosage range is given, use the higher rate where severe weed infestations occur. Apply when the crop is between the 3 to 6 leaf growth stage and weeds are between the 2 to 8 leaf stages. A wetting agent at the recommended rate must always be added to Colony 750 WP.
