1 Dr. Qiaoling Luo Dr. Luo obtained her Master degree (2005) in Urban planning and Ph.D. (2014) in Landscape Architecture from Wuhan University. She was a Certified planner of the People s Republic of China (2012),senior urban planner ( ), chief urban planner ( ) of Wuhan Urban Planning and Design Institute, and currently is a full associate professor in the department of urban planning at Wuhan University. Dr. Luo s research interests include urban planning and design; sustainable land use planning and urban growth management; urban landscape ecological planning; ecosystem services value evaluation. As the projector leader, she and her team have done more than 40 urban comprehensive planning and urban design projects, more than 10 of them have got the Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design Awards by China Association of City Planning and Hubei Association of City Planning etc. Dr. Luo s professional research projects have been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of People s Republic of China, and various planning agencies. Urban space layout was mostly planned based on experiences. Now, with the use of new technologies such as big data, mobile Internet, artificial intelligence and cloud computing, we have easier means to data acquisition, more accurate ways of data processing. Through the acquisition of social media data, spatial positioning data, timespace data, consumption model data, we can use them in urban planning, and make city planning more accurate and scientific. Such as the flow of people and gathering area, the layout of the subway and bus stations, route selection. Through remote sensing technology, we can monitor changes in ecological land use and protect the eco-environment... 31
