3 Contents: PhD Retreat All ESRs present and discuss progress and results of their PhD projects together with all supervisors, APs and peers in the light of the interface of science and policymaking. The focus of this presentation will be Networks and impact achieved (draw a map of your network, including partners, stakeholders or other collaborators) Scientific results Outreach and dissemination (plans) The expertise of the APs will play a pivotal role. IDP Bridges meets Mercator: Aim: In summer 2016, 4 new Mercator fellows will join the PSC as well as the PhD program Science and Policy. The PSC wants to invite theses new fellows as well as alumni of the Science and Policy program to get together and meet each other. The idea of the event is a) To have the new fellows introducing themselves and projects to their advanced colleagues in the program b) To share ideas and advice about the program, the courses, etc. c) Highlight challenges and opportunities Supervisory Board Meeting Strategic objectives of the program are discussed among PIs and APs. Individual Thesis Committee meetings Every ESR organises his/her thesis committee meeting individually. Please make sure that you take advantage of the availability of the PIs and Aps and that your thesis committee meeting takes place at the latest on October 30; any earlier date is possible. Attendance of Associate Partners via Skype is possible. 3
