14 Lion Grove Garden After breakfast in Hangzhou, we will drive about an hour and a half to Suzhou to visit the Lion Grove Garden, one of the four most famous and representative classic gardens in Suzhou. It was first given the name of Lion Grove as the grotesque rocks of its man-made hill resembled lions. Lunch In the afternoon, we will take a tour around the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest garden in Suzhou, generally considered to be the finest garden in all of southern China. Along with other classical gardens (e.g. the Lion Grove Garden), it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Humble Administrator's Garden The last stop of Day One is Tiger Hill, which for over 2,000 years has been called the most beautiful resort in Wu (Ancient name of Jiangsu Province). Tiger Hill is a large hillrock covering some 14,ooo square meters and is 36 meters in height.

Many places of historical interest have made the hill a tourist attraction. The famous poet Su Dongpo in the Song Dynasty once remarked, To visit Suzhou without seeing the Tiger Hill is something to regret.

16 Then we go back to the hotel to have dinner and rest. End of Day One. Day Two: Suzhou Shanghai Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Full Day Tour: Visit Zhouzhuang, Chenghuang Temple and Yu Garden Zhouzhuang Zhouzhuang, an ancient town located between Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou, dates back to 1086 AD. Surrounded by water, the town features classical bridges, a waterway transport system and the traditional architecture of a bygone era. With its profound historical inheritance and unique cultural heritage, Zhouzhuang is renowned for its typical Southern Chinese riverside scenery, elegantly-crafted bridges, meandering streams and well-preserved ancient residential houses.

17 Lunch Chenghuang Temple After lunch we will drive about an hour to Shanghai, to visit Chenghuang Temple. Chenghuang Temple is a Taoist temple built during Yongle period ( ) in Ming Dynasty. Today, it is an important venue for religious activities in Shanghai and for international cultural exchanges. Those familiar with Shanghai will know that the area around Chenghuang Temple is the best place to sample the city s traditional snack food. Also, we will pay a visit to Yu Garden. Built between 1559 and 1577 by local official Pan Yunduan as the private estate for his father, Yu Yuan (meaning Garden of Peace and Comfort ) is a maze of Ming Dynasty pavilions, elaborate rockeries, arched bridges and goldfish ponds, all encircled by an undulating dragon wall. 18 the most complete classical garden in urban Shanghai and therefore a must-see for every tourist. Yu Garden Then we go have dinner and get to the hotel. End of Day Two. Century Avenue, with a full length of 5.5 kilometers from the Oriental Pearl to Pudong Century Park and width of 100 meters, is known as the "Avenue des Champs" in China. It is positioned to be an urban sightseeing avenue. There are 8 botanical gardens with their individual themes and features along the footway in the north side, which creates more garden scenery for the avenue. There are also time-themed sculptures and art works along the avenue, with unique scenery and deep cultural charm.

20 Oriental Pearl TV Tower, via China Connection Tours The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located in Pudong New Area, facing "The Gallery of International Architecture" across the Yangtze River and contrasting pleasantly with the building groups of Lujiazui at the back. It is the landmark building of Shanghai. With the absolute height of 468 meters, it is the highest tower in Asia and the fourth highest in the world. It exhibits the spectacular scenery of the international metropolis.

21 Jin Mao Tower, via Top 10 Gallery Jin Mao Tower is one of the landmark buildings of Shanghai, with the height of meters and total construction area of 290 thousand square meters. The 88-storey observation deck of Jin Mao Tower, with the height of meters, is one of the top ten new sceneries and scenic spots of Shanghai.

22 The Bund Then we wander through the bustling Bund, featuring outstanding European colonial architectures, new skyscrapers and historical buildings in Shanghai. Then we go back to the hotel and rest. End of Day Three. Day Four: Shanghai

The Ancient City Wall is one of the oldest and largest existing walls in China and the most representative of relics of Xi an. 25 Terracotta Army First we will take a visit to Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses (UNESCO), one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world. More than 6000 life-sized terra cotta warriors, archers, infantrymen, horses and bronze chariots silently guarded the tomb of China's First Emperor for over 2,200 years.

26 Huaqing Palace Heritage Site After lunch, we will go for a two-hour tour to the Huaqing Palace Heritage Site. It is located in the Lintong District 30 km east to the urban area of Xian. The favorable geographical conditions and its natural environment make it one of the cradles where ancient people settled and it was also a favorite place for emperors to build their palaces as a resort. Since ancient times, it has ever been a famous bathing and tourist destination.

27 Xi an Business Street When we finish the tour to Huaqing Palace, our next stop is Xi an Business Street. Then we will go back to the hotel and rest. End of Day Two. Day Three: Xi an Meals: Breakfast Full Day Tour: Mount Hua

28 Mount Hua On Day Three we will go to Mount Hua (about 120km), the Number One Precipitous Mountain under Heaven. As one of China s five sacred mountains, Mount Hua is famous for its steep peaks, characteristic rocks, cloud seas and waterfalls. With the changeable climate on the mountain, we will enjoy spectacular scenes in different seasons. Besides the stunning natural view, Mount Hua is also home to several important Taoist Monasteries, and it is also known as a centre for the practice of traditional martial arts. Then we can go back to Xi an and have our dinner at the Muslim Snack Street. Note that Lunch and dinner today are not included in the tour and will be at your own expense. At night, we will take a flight from Xi an to Beijing. End of Day Three. Day Four: Beijing

29 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Full Day Tour: Visit the Tian anmen Square (30 minutes), the Forbidden City (2 hours), Beihai Park (an hour and a half), Jingshan Park Tian anmen Square After breakfast, we will drive to Tian anmen Square and then visit the Forbidden City. Tian anmen Square is one of the largest city squares in the world. It is situated in the heart of Beijing. Built in 1417, it was the main entrance to the Forbidden City, and also a symbol of the nation and an image of China projected not just on banknotes, coins and stamps, but worldwide.

30 The Forbidden City The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese Government. Lunch

31 Beihai Park After lunch we will go visit Beihai Park. Situated in the Xicheng District, Baihai Park has a history of more than 1,000 years. This park was built up through five dynasties, the Liao ( ), the Jin ( ), the Yuan ( ), the Ming ( ) and the Qing ( ). Though it was a royal garden, it remains grand with a hint of exquisite elegance as well. It covers an area of 69 hectares (171 acres), with over a half covered by water. The whole park can be divided into four scenic areas: Qionghua Islet (Jade Flower Islet), Circular City, the eastern bank area, and the northern bank area.

32 Jingshan Park The next stop in the afternoon is Jingshan Park, the highest point in Beijing City. It was built in 1179 during the Jin Dynasty and has a history of more than 800 years. This Park is located directly to the north of the Forbidden City's Shenwu Gate. Visitors will discover that Beihai Park is located directly to the west of Jingshan Park. Further north again from Jingshan Park, the Bell and Drum Towers are located at the top of Di An Men Da Jie.

33 Qianmen Street At night, we will take a tour to Qianmen Street. Qianmen Street is the oldest and most famous ancient shopping street with unique culture. It is located at the center place of ancient Beijing city, which is an important component part of south middle axis. Qianmen Street has a history of more than 580 years, there dwells around 30 famous shops with over 100 years history such as Beijing Tong Rentang, which sells Chinese medicine; Nei Liansheng, which sells shoes; Rui Fuxiang which sells silk; and Liu Biju, which sells pickles, etc. It has always been the leading traditional shopping center. End of Day Four. Day Five: Beijing Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Full Day Tour: Visit the Great Wall (2 hours), Ming Tombs (an hour and forty minutes), Olympic Park, Bird Nest, Water Cube

34 The Great Wall After breakfast we start off to visit the Great Wall, one of the greatest wonders of the world, which was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections are now in ruins or have disappeared. However, it is still one of the most appealing attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance. Then we will go have lunch and drive to the Ming Tombs. The Ming Dynasty from 1368 to 1644 had 16 emperors. Thirteen of them were buried in Beijing. So their tombs are called Ming Tombs. Through the 5,000 years of Chinese history many emperors left after them large or small tombs, but the Ming Tombs are well

35 preserved today. A Chinese imperial mausoleum usually consists of two parts, the divine road and the burial palace. The marble archway, or paifang, is the beginning of the divine road and of the whole Ming Tombs. This carved archway is the largest existent one in China. It bears patterns of clouds and dragons, which is a characteristic of imperial architecture. The divine road is a passage in front of the tombs to facilitate the sacrificial ceremonies. The Bird Nest On our way back to the city, we will take a look at the Olympic Park, Bird Nest and the Water Cube.

36 The Water Cube At night, we will relax ourselves at the Sanlitun Bar Street. End of Day Five. Day Six: Beijing Meals: Breakfast Half Day Tour: Visit the Summer Palace (2 hours), Beijing Botanical Garden

37 The Summer Palace After breakfast, we will go to one of the finest examples of Garden Architecture in China, the Summer Palace. More than 100 examples of traditional architecture are to be found in the park, including pavilions, terraces, temples, pagodas, waterside gazebos, covered corridors, stone bridges and the famous marble boat. In December 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List. It declared the Summer Palace an "outstanding expression of the creative art of Chinese Landscape Garden Design, incorporating the works of humankind and nature in a harmonious whole."

38 Beijing Botanical Garden Two hours later, we will go to the last stop of this tour, the Beijing Botanical Garden. Lying at the foot of the West Hill of Beijing, it has by tradition been engaged in the conservation of the native flora, especially plants from northern, northeastern and northwestern China. Its attention is also concentrated on research, public education and recreation. Then we transfer to the airport and you take your flight. End of the tour.
