8 Results 66% of Listening Project respondents have lived, worked or worshipped in the community for more than 15 years 85% said that the people who live in the community should have a say in how that land gets used 95% of our neighbors agree that it would be a good idea for a neighborhood-based organization to own some of the vacant land in the neighborhood. A majority of respondents could already identify land ready for development, and useful additions to the neighborhood: 25% support a new grocery store 25% would like to see neighborhood services, like community and child care centers 20% prioritize affordable housing 15% are eager for parks and community gardens

9 Community Land Trust Campaign A community land trust is a nonprofit, community-based organization committed to the permanent stewardship of land and the permanent affordability of housing and other buildings located upon its land. A land trust is a community-based organization that owns land in a neighborhood. It is overseen by a group of people who live, work and worship in the neighborhood. Representation of various groups is balanced so that many interests are heard and protected.
