34 Lessons learned designing engagement processes that mandate change 1 Involve all key influencers in the community 2 Use eminent, highly credible, respected local people as champions for the process not as advocates for a position! 3 Don t allow the usual suspects to dominate go broad and deep use randomised dselection to secure community representatives tti 4 Don t jump to deciding on the engagement techniques too early 5 Involve young people they are the future 6 Monitor and review the progress of the process and be prepared to change it if it s not working 7 Prepare an evaluation framework as part of a continuous improvement process.
