The E 700M and E 350M ground and surface heaters are ideal against frost and ice. They heat the ground and surfaces thoroughly and keep your projects on schedule even in cold temperatures. This also applies for concrete curing, where the concrete temperature must be kept constant for a specific duration so that the concrete sets correctly. E 700M 94 % HEAT EFFICIENCY HOW THE E 350M AND E 700M WORK. 1 The tank holds 272 or 568 liters of winter diesel for the generator and heater burner: enough for continuous operation of up to 63 or 130 hours. 2 The generator provides the power for all electrical components. 3 The heater burner heats a glycol-water mixture to a temperature of 82 C. 4 The pump transports the fluid from the burner through the hoses. There is a pump for every hose circuit. 5 The hose transfers the hot glycol-water mixture, is 350 m or 2 x 350 m (= 700 m) long and can be laid more or less tight dependent on requirements. 6 The expansion tank ensures the non-pressurized operation of the system. 7 The electric winch can wind 500 m of hose in only 20 minutes. 7 Application 1: Curing concrete during the construction of an industrial hall. Here's how it works: 1 The diesel-operated heater warms a glycol-water mixture to the desired (ideal) temperature for concrete curing. 2 A pump transports the warm fluid through one or two 350 m long hoses laid on a vapor barrier spread out on the concrete. This vapor barrier prevents the moisture in the concrete from vaporizing, since the concrete must not dry out. 3 An insulating mat placed over the hose retains the heat on the ground An industrial hall is constructed, even in sub-zero temperatures thanks to the E 350M and E 700M. When constructing an industrial hall, concrete work is essential but often very difficult in winter. This is because the temperature of the concrete must not drop below 5 C to 10 C. Until now such construction projects sometimes had to be interrupted at this time of year. Thanks to the new E 350M and E 700M process accelerators which heat up soil and surfaces in cold temperatures, contractors can now work through the winter, thereby saving time and money. The new process accelerators even let you check the quality of the resulting concrete. When the temperature of concrete is 4 C, it can take around 25 days for it to reach 75 % of its final strength. This will depend on the quality of the concrete and components being used - assuming the setting process starts at all. However at 21 C, the optimal temperature for concrete curing, the E 350M and E 700M reduces the time required for hardening to a few days only. 4 The heat is transferred directly from the hose of the surface heater to the concrete surface. 5 The E 350M or E 700M therefore applies up to 94 % of the heating power to the surface to be handled. 12_13 WACKER NEUSON HEATERS & AIR DEHUMIDIFIERS Ground and surface heaters as process accelerators

8 Application 2: Thawing soil to place a subbase. Here's how it works: The heating hose is laid out on the area to be worked on in a sinuous line. The distance between the hoses is around 45 cm since this allows the soil to be thawed out most rapidly. 2 Vapor barriers and insulating mats are placed over the hoses. 3 The diesel-operated heater warms a glycol-water mixture and pumps it through the heating hose. Placing a subbase in frosty soil. No problem with the E 350M and E 700M. Schedules often necessitate invention. The same is true when placing a subbase on a freeway in winter. A soil area 45 meters long and 7 meters wide must be thawed out to place the subbase in order to meet the contractor's tight deadlines. An ideal scenario for the E 350M or E 700M. The construction company decides to thaw out half of the area on the first day and then place the subbase. The second half is then heated and worked on the next day. Thanks to the E 350M and E 700M, the company remains 100 % on schedule despite frosty temperatures. 4 The section of soil is thawed out within a day and can then be worked on immediately and a subbase placed. 14_15 WACKER NEUSON HEATERS & AIR DEHUMIDIFIERS Ground and surface heaters as process accelerators

9 Application 3: Applying a two-component coating when refurbishing a bridge. Here's how it works: 1 The heating hose is laid out on the 5 x 45 m area of the bridge element in a sinuous line with a hose distance of around 30 cm. 2 The insulating mats with integrated vapor barriers are laid over the hoses. 3 The diesel-operated heater warms a glycolwater mixture and pumps it through the heating hose. 4 After 16 hours the bridge section has been heated up to a temperature of around 10 C and can be worked on. Even if cold temperatures slow or stop the chemical process that takes place after a two-component coating is applied, the E 700M and E 350M can be used to bring the process back on track Two-component coating for bridge elements at a temperature of 3 C. No problem for the E 350M and E 700M. Bad weather and cold temperatures often give builders major headaches which in some cases can also result in high costs. Applying a two-component coating to a bridge element with a component temperature of 3 C is impossible. The minimum temperature for processing the coating is 5 C. The bridge element has an area of 5 x 45 m and must therefore be heated up to over 5 C when the outside temperature is 0 C. No problem thanks to the E 350M and E 700M and within 16 hours the bridge element is at a temperature of 10 C. 10 Application 4: Heating up a concrete floor that has already been reinforced. A 1.2 m high reinforcement with a concrete base beneath it which has to be heated up. No problem for the E 350M and E 700M. As part of the construction of a hydroelectric power plant and due to the cold, an existing 100 m 2 concrete area must be heated up so that a new concrete surface can be placed directly above it. However, the reinforcement of the new concrete is already at a height of 1.20 m. The E 350M and E 700M handle this situation without difficulty: the heating hoses with the corresponding insulating mats are simply placed over the reinforcement. At 82 C, the temperature is set somewhat higher than usual in order to bridge the 1.20 m gap between the heating hoses and the concrete surface. 14 The innovative hydronic system Warm liquid The heat exchangers exchange heat meaning that warm liquid is conducted into the heat exchanger via hoses. The warm liquid heats the ambient air in the heater and then discharges it warm. The cooled liquid is returned through the hoses and then reheated. 15 Example of application: Applying a coating to the insides of a 50 million liter water storage tank. Heating the water storage tank with the HP 252. The result of the heating process: 100 % heating power in the interior of the water storage tank. 58 % lower costs in comparison to standard heating methods. Low energy consumption since only the air in the water storage tank is heated and reheated to the desired temperature. High energy consumption because cold, humid air must be heated. Costs 42 % higher than when using the HP 252. It is very hard to keep the temperature at the desired level. Processing and applying coatings requires specific and above all constant temperatures. The same applied when constructing a 50 million liter water storage tank in Great Britain. To guarantee that the stored water is kept at low temperature, the water storage tanks are located in the ground. Low soil temperatures are something of a hindrance when creating a coating for these tanks. For this reason, the closed water storage tank must be heated up to apply the coating. Two different coatings are permitted when constructing water storage tanks. One requires a temperature of 5 C to set, the other a temperature of 10 C. Although the latter is preferable because of its durability and quality, the first one is often chosen because until now it has been very difficult to guarantee a constant temperature of 10 C right through until the end of the setting process. The HP 252 has now solved this problem. A The HP 252 heating process: The heating process with HP 252 uses an innovative hydronic system that produces clean, dry air with a liquid-to-air heat exchanger. The heat exchangers work without a flame and are therefore easy to place in the water storage tank and set to the desired temperature. B Conventional heating process: In the conventional heating process for setting the coating in the water storage tank, conventional oil heaters are used. This accessory is a quick and easy way of turning your ground and surface heaters into space heaters. Standard accessory for ground and surface heaters. Four-way distributor connection The four-way distributor connection with its bronze quick-connect couplings makes it easy to attach hoses to the heat exchangers. Hydronic heat exchangers The innovative hydronic heat exchangers which convert fluid into warm air, come in 3 different sizes: - HX 15 with 14.6 kw - HX 30 with 29.3 kw - HX 60 with 58.6 kw Additional pump The additional pump should be used everywhere where the heat exchanger is more than 60 m away from the HP 252 or where there is a height difference of 18 m or more. Hose drum The hose drum maximizes the potential performance of the HP 252. It allows you to thaw out soil much quicker and treat a much bigger surface area when curing concrete surfaces. The hose drum system makes it easy to store and use heat transfer hoses. It contains a heat transfer hose filled with a heat transfer fluid, a conduction tube, quick-connect couplings made of bronze and an electric reeling device with a foot brake. Pump When using the HP 252, another pump increases the thaw speed of frozen soil by 50 % and increase performance by 200 % when curing concrete. Insulating mats The insulating mats reflect the heat downwards into the soil or concrete and distributes it evenly.
