Delivery types 1.1 OP Balanced instruments 1.2 OP Hanging tube instruments The over-the-patient delivery with balanced instrument arms provides an ideal solution for efficient four-hand treatment. To ensure sufficient reach, the perfectly balanced instrument arms are flexible forward and sideways. The hoses are easily connected to the balanced instrument arms without any tools. The instruments are easy to access, allowing the team to maintain ergonomic postures throughout the working day. The unit allows great flexibility in positioning the console and tray table, ensuring optimal access to the instruments even for a dentist working alone. The over-the-patient delivery with hanging tube console brings the instruments at the correct height for easy reach and allows optimal access to the tray. The angle of the instrument holders can be freely adjusted according to personal preferences.

3 KI Page 3(25) 1.3 Instrument console Graphical user interface The Planmeca Sovereign Classic dental unit is operated by its graphical user interface. The graphical user interface is attached with a quick connection either to the left or right of the instrument console. All instrument, chair and unit functions can be controlled either from the graphical user interface or the unit foot control. There are eight different user profiles included and each user can: - include their name in the user list - have their own theme colour (9 themes) - choose their own language (20 languages) - define their own automatic chair positions

4 KI Page 4(25) - specify their own instrument settings 1.4 Foot control Foot control Foot control with cord is attached to connector located inside the cuspidor. Foot control is equipped with three multidirectional buttons and dual functional lever. Foot control provides access to graphical user interface controls. Every foot control delivery include standard pedal and a wide pedal for vertical pedal use (Vertical pedal use is dental unit specific) Wireless foot control For unrestricted foot control positioning, a wireless foot control is available as an option. A wireless foot control contributes effectively to ergonomics, infection control and aesthetics of the treatment environment as no unnecessary cables lie on the floor. Wireless foot control is equipped with three multidirectional knobs and dual functional lever, and it provides access to Touch screen controls.

5 KI Page 5(25) A sign on the user interface indicates when the foot control battery is low and needs loading. Every foot control delivery includes standard pedal and a wide pedal for vertical pedal use. (Vertical pedal use is dental unit specific). 1.5 Tray tables Quick connect tray tables Quick connect tray table is attached under the balanced arm instrument console. Tray table can be attached to tray arm from each side thanks to magnetic connector. Tray table mounting arm swivels 360. The tray table is available in 1-size (194 x 296 mm) or 2-size (296 x 380 mm). Silicone mat for tray table is included always.

6 KI Page 6(25) Quick connect top tray tables Rotating tray table 1.6 Instruments Quick connect tray table is easily disconnected from the top of the hanging tubes instrument console due to magnetic connector. The tray table is available in 2-size (296 x 380 mm). Silicone mat for tray table is available for the tray table. The clever swivelling tray table rotates 360 degrees and allows the users to choose the best position for each phase of the treatment. The rotating tray table is attached on the side of the hanging tube instrument console simply with quick connector. The tray table is for 2-size tray (296 x 380 mm) The instrument hoses are fitted with quick-locking connectors which allow the different instruments to be integrated smoothly. The quick-locking connectors have also an integrated USB connection. The instrument places are interchangeable a special feature of the system is that the syringe can be right or left-mounted. As an exception, the USB intraoral camera has a fixed place, but the place can be changed by the technician. The balance of the balanced instrument arms can be adjusted according to the weight of the instrument and personal preferences. When a dynamic instrument is selected (taken from the holder or the balanced instrument arm is bent), the instrument specific control functions of the foot control and the GUI become active. When one instrument is activated, it will remain activated until it is returned to instrument console. When an instrument is activated, taking and/or returning other instruments has no effect on the status or the controls of the instrument. The user interface indicates when the instrument is selected and when it is activated.

PATIENT CHAIR Planmeca Sovereign is equipped as a default with reprogrammable patient chair positions. If fine adjustment are needed or if automatic positions are not suitable for the patient, manual chair movements can then be used. 2.1 Manual base swivel The manual base enables easy conversion from right-handed to left-handed dentistry. The base swivel (270 ) also enables optimisation of the clinic e.g. using the same room and same dental unit for different treatments.

13 KI Page 13(25) 2.2 Manual chair swivel The chair swivel provides the dental team with optimised space. It can also be used if better access from the sides is needed. 2.3 Backrest with manual headrest Backrest is very slim and has deep cut-out at the top enabling that the dental team has very good access to the oral cavity. Double-articulated headrest has easy and secure release and long adjustment range. The headrest can be equipped with oval or surgical headrest cushions.

14 KI Page 14(25) 2.4 Seat The tilting seat keeps the patient optimally positioned during the treatment. 2.5 Adaptive legrest, 585 mm 2.6 Armrests The adaptive legrest moves synchronised with the seat giving optimal support for the patient. All upholstery sets are delivered with a legrest cover protecting the legrest upholstery. Rotating armrests enable patient to step away or step in from the seat side. Armrests and their basic position are recognized.

15 KI Page 15(25) 3. UPHOLSTERY TYPE 3.1 Ultra Relax upholstery 3.2 Comfy upholstery 3.3 Upholstery colour The Ultra Relax upholstery material is combined with viscoelastic memory cell foam. This type of foam adjusts to different body shapes. It also provides exceptional comfort for the patient especially during long treatments. Comfy upholstery is comfortable and firm foam covered with seamless artificial leather. Comfy upholstery is durable and easy to care. It is thin, e.g. ergonomic for the user. There are 14 Ultra Relax and 14 Comfy colours available. 4. CUSPIDOR 4.1 Bowl The manual bowl rotates easily for rinsing position. The bowl can be either blue or clear satinated. The glass bowl can be thermodisinfected at 65C and the tap cover can be removed for thermodisinfection in 93 C.

16 KI Page 16(25) 4.2 Waterline cleaning Intelligent waterline cleaning It is possible to select whether continuous or periodical waterline cleaning is used. The unit has integrated cleaning agent container from where the right concentrate is fed automatically which ever system is used. Thanks to the several joints the arm adapts for different working preferences. The Flexy holder has seamless and symmetrical design ensuring impeccaple infection control. It is also possible to have the dental unit without suction arm if the suction arm and suction are situated in e.g. nearby cabinet.
