In addition to the door-to-door selective waste collection for recyclable, compostable materials and garbage, some materials should be deposited elsewhere. Hence, this document is a tool to help you get rid of materials than cannot or should not be deposited in bins for the door-to-door selective waste collection, but rather, sent to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or one of the Local Relay EcoCentres located on the territory. 3 1) ULTIMATE WASTE (non-reclaimable) Materials that cannot be salvaged, reused or recycled Non-reclaimable bulky materials Mattress, furniture, old couch Bathtub, wash basin, toilet - If the materials mentioned in the columns on the left are too big to fit in Non-reclaimable construction, renovation and demolition residue (CRD): Window with glass Gyproc Styrofoam insulation Wood insulation Floor covering (linoleum, carpet, tiles, ceramic) Ceiling tiles Flat glass (mirror, glass, windshields, etc.) Vinyl Other non-reclaimable materials: Farm plastic Plastic strapping Styrofoam & plastic coded # 6 Clothing (bags, belts, gloves, shoes) the black bin, please bring them to the EcoCentre or the LRE closest to home. (Natural wood is used as structuring material for the composting deck) Christmas tree Branch Spool Boards Pallet Non-natural wood (with or without nails) Glued or laminated wood Painted wood Treated wood Varnished wood Plywood, veneer Bonded board (melamine) Aspenite - Bring these materials to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or your Local Relay EcoCentre. 5 3) METAL Metal electrical appliances (toaster, iron, kettle, coffee maker, etc.) Bicycles Air conditioner, furnace, hot water tank Appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave, washer, etc.) Electrical wires (Christmas lights, extension cords, etc.) Ferrous and non-ferrous metals Materials containing more than 75% of metal - Bring these materials to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or your Local Relay EcoCentre. Metal Scrap metal Appliances 4) TIRES Rimless tires Rim diameter must be equal or less than 24.5 inches combined diameter of tire must not exceed 48.5 inches - Bring tires to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or your Local Relay EcoCentre. - When buying new tires, leave the old ones at a garage that is registered with the Programme québécois de gestion intégrée des pneus hors d usage Rimless tires Page 4 de 8

6 Televisions Radios Gaming consoles, sound systems, DVD players Computers Computer peripheral (keyboards, screens, printers, etc.) - Bring these materials to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or your Local Relay EcoCentre. Computer Television or screen Computer Printer equipment accessories 6) DRY MATERIALS Asphalt shingles Asphalt, cement & bricks Dry materials - Bring these materials to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or your Local Relay EcoCentre. (shingles must not be mixed with any other materials, except nails) - Asphalt, cement & bricks can be brought directly to Entreprises W. Sirard Inc. in Duhamel-Ouest ( ) Relay EcoCentre (LRE) or Entreprises W. Sirard Page 5 de 8

7 7) HAZARDOUS DOMESTIC WASTE Paint : Primer and paints (latex, alkyd, enamel or others) Stain, varnish, lacquer Aerosol paint containers Used oils : Oils (mineral, vegetable or synthetic) Used oil filters Oil containers Organic hazardous domestic waste : Acetone, adhesive, rubbing alcohol, antifreeze, caulking compound, wax, glue, dye, fuel, degreasing agent, epoxy, diluent, ink, gasoline, heating gas-oil, lubricant, methanol, oven cleaner, shoe dye, turpentine, etc. Inorganic hazardous domestic waste : Acids, bases, pesticides, oxidants Compact lamps and fluorescent lamps : Compact fluorescent lamps Fluorescent lamps High intensity discharge lamps Low pressure sodium lamps UV lamps LED lamps - Bring these hazardous materials to the regional EcoCentre in Fabre or your Local Relay EcoCentre or at the municipal garage. 8 Batteries and propane cylinders : Automobile batteries and all other types of batteries for machinery Propane cylinder (small and large) - Bring batteries to garages that accept them and bring the cylinders to a propane dealer or garage Automobile battery Propane cylinder 8) GREEN RESIDUE Grass cuttings Falling leaves Garden residue Wood residue (sawdust, chips) If there is too much green residue to fit into your green bin, bring the residue to the EcoCentre in Fabre. (The residue will be composted on the composting deck) Grass cuttings Green bin or EcoCentre 9) REUSABLE OBJECTS AND ITEMS (in good condition) Clothing Baby items Sports equipment Furniture - All items in good condition and reusable should be brought directly to your nearest family help centre.
