6 PA Uniform Construction Code (UCC) On or after October 1, 2018, the 2015 International Codes issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and the provisions amended by the UCC Review & Advisory Council (RAC) are applicable to all work that requires a permit under the PA UCC. Only these codes as first published and their errata are applicable in Pennsylvania. If a contract for design or construction was signed prior to October 1, 2018 a permit can be issued using the 2009 I-Codes as amended by PA UCC previously. A construction permit application must be applied for before March 31, 2019 to ensure the use of the 2009 UCC codes.
7 PA Uniform Construction Code (UCC) Based upon the UCC Review & Advisory Council (RAC) Official review of the 2015 I-Codes no proposed amendments were acted upon specifically to the IMC. Note there were two amendment to the IRC Mechanical provisions. M exception 3 was amended to clarify that duct closure systems are still required for snap-lock and button-lock type joints and seams that are located outside of conditioned spaces. M item 2 was amended and states: The amount of return air taken from any perimeter room or space shall be not greater than the flow rate of supply air delivered to such room or space.
