June 2016 IMPA Energy Efficiency Program tools and incentives for residential, commercial and industrial customers to reduce energy use and save money
Reduce energy use. Save money. Earn incentives. The IMPA Energy Efficiency Program is offered through your local, municipally-owned utility, in partnership with its power supplier, the Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA). These programs can be changed at any time without notice, and are available on a firstcome, first-served basis. Some projects must be pre-approved to qualify for an incentive. Equipment ordered, purchased, or installed prior to approval may not qualify. Please refer to the individual program terms and conditions for more information. Visit to view a list of current rebates or to download an application.
IMPA's Residential Energy Efficiency Program offers residential customers of IMPA member utilities the opportunity to earn rebates on qualifying heating, ventilation and air conditioning installations. Measure Equipment Type Minimum Qualifying Efficiency Rebate R101 Heat Pumps 16 SEER or Greater $150 R102 Central Air 16 SEER or Greater $125 R103 Geothermal - Closed Loop 17.1 SEER or Greater $175 - Open Loop 21.1 SEER or Greater $175 ** Rebate amount will be based on the most current Prescriptive Rebate listing available at time of application. The most recent menu is available on the IMPA website at residential heating, ventilation and air conditioning
Beyond IMPA's Residential Energy Efficiency Program, there are plenty of low and no-cost ways to reduce energy use in your home and operate more efficiently. Making just a few small changes could mean substantial savings on your energy bill. Turn off lights and appliances when not in use. Turn your thermostat down in the winter and up in the summer. Every degree can make a difference. You can also install programmable thermostats, which automatically adjust the temperature setting for you so you don t have to! Replace your incandescent lightbulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) or light emitting diodes (LED), which use up to 80 percent less power. In the winter, keep your curtains open on sunny days to allow as much natural light in as possible to warm up the room. In the summer, keep them closed to reflect heat and maintain the cool air in your home. Lower the temperature setting on your water heater. Many thermostats are preset at the factory setting of 140 degrees. Lowering it to 120 degrees will save you up to 15 percent on your water heating energy. For even more tips and energy efficiency education, visit IMPA s website at
Additionally, IMPA s Home Energy Suite helps you manage your energy use and find new ways to improve your home s efficiency. Complete an energy audit on your home and get quick estimates of your current energy use costs. See how much you can save just by making a few changes on the calculator and in your home. Calculators are also available online for appliances, lighting and televisions. Access the Home Energy Suite online at residential additional energy efficiency resources
