1 JANUARY DECEMBER 2018 Waste Collection Schedule vaughan.ca/waste
2 City of Vaughan is committed to environmental sustainability and creating a better THE future for our growing community. Our award-winning programs make it easy for residents to make green decisions and participate in our waste diversion efforts. We are focused on providing cost-effective and efficient services that protect the health of our families, communities, local economy and natural heritage. Since the City s waste management strategy was launched more than a decade ago, we have continued to introduce new and innovative programs, with a focus on diverting garbage from landfill. One of the ways we are achieving this is through a new initiative introduced in 2017 Curbside Giveaway. It encourages residents to leave gently used items out once a month for others to take. It gives these items a new life and promotes recycling. MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR Our many programs are successful thanks to our citizens. I would like to thank you for your dedication and helping us meet our waste reduction targets. Together, we can continue to work towards ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable future for Vaughan. Sincerely, Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, P.C. Mayor
