2 1 Introduction Your drier comes fitted with a combustion chamber complete with an heating exchanger with discharge of exhaust air of combustion through a chimney The drying air supplied by the main fan of the drier becomes hot exclusively through the simple contact against the outer surfaces of the heating exchanger. By this way there are totally eliminated any kind of contamination between the flame of the burner, the residual gas of combustion and the flow of the drying air. The final result is that one to obtain a drying fully clean and ecological, giving the guarantee of a total faultless and insuperable quality of the dried crops. The using of the heating exchanger requires the acknowledge of some specific information on how to use this unit. We recommend a care reading of the information and instructions given by this booklet. Be sure all people allowed to use this drier are perfectly and completely awarded of its contents. 2

4 3 Thermostats - Reading, Functions, Using and setting. No difference comparing the standard machine. For all this information please refer to the instructions, notes and recommendations reported on the general instructions book of the machine ( cap. 7.7). It is recommended when igniting the burner with the machine fully cold, to proceed as follows: 1 Start the burner by pushing its own button switch on the panel. 2 Keep the handy air-flap fully closed until the flame is on 3 Release the air flap just after ignition and leave it to be back in its normal position. 4

5 4 Timing controls via working and pause timer Burning ignition panel 1 Red light Pause Time 2 Selector On-Off Timing control 3 Selector On-Off excluding 2 nd Flame 4 Timer cdc TV 56 Fig. 2 This control allows to fix the longest continue operation at full thermal power of the burner, to which will follow a Pause Time (10 minutes) Once the Pause Time is over, the burner is automatically back to the condition of full power operation. As for Longest continue operation at full thermal power we mean the time during which the burner could operate from two to three flames on, and vice versa, or to remain permanently with all three flames on. As for Pause Time we mean the time during which the burner could operate only at an intermediate power (one or two flames on) and having the third flame always excluded. This kind of control allows to avoid a too much heavy using of the heating exchanger and it is preventing any kind of trouble on the metallurgical structure of the heat exchanger itself, which gives guarantee for a life operational. 5

6 The control is released to the timer cdc TV 56 which is housed into the ignition panel of the burner.( Fig.2 pos. 4) and (Fig. 3) The timer has the following functions and settings: t1 ( Fig. 3 pos.1) On this unit it must be set the longest time of full power. By fixing the corresponding Time Unit (Pos.2) on the range of 10h (10 hours), the range of t1 gives a minimum time of 12 minutes on position.02 until a max of 10 hours if set on position 1. The value to fix the function t1 is obviously in relation with the level of the air drying temperature the drier is going to be used. With low temperature the time t1 is longer, with high temperature the time t1 must be shorter (See the table below for full details and suggestions). In case of drying at an air temperature lower or equal to 50 C the timing control is no necessary and it is suggested to by-pass the timer by positioning the selector On-Off (Fig.2 pos.2) on position Off. t2 (Fig.3 Pos.3) On this unit it must be set the Pause Time. The Pause Time suggested in every condition is of 10 minutes, so the unit t2 must be fixed in position 1 and the corresponding Time Unit (pos.4) on the range 10m (10 minutes). 6

Once the Pause Time is over, the burner will be back to its full power by the automatic ignition of the third flame and the red light will go off. 7

8 5 Safety warnings and suggestions on using and maintenance. 1 Adjust the flame on the burner as it is reported and recommended on the general instructions book of the drier. A flame badly adjusted could easily cause the creation of black soot inside the combustion chamber and to be the reason of a loosing on the thermal performances of the unit. 2 ATTENTION: IF REQUIRED AND NECESSARY TO STOP THE MACHINE FOR ANY REASON WHILE THE BURNER IS ON, STOP FIRST JUST THE BURNER AND WAIT NOT LESS THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE TO STOP ALL THE MACHINE. The full and sudden stop of the machine while the burner is still on or just switched off is impeaching the ventilation of the heating exchanger while still hot and this could be the reason of some structural damages of the exchanger itself. For the same above reasons it is very important to take all care to prevent the sudden and full stop of the machine while the burner is on. For the machines electric drive it is important to be sure the supply electric line from the Mains is some stronger than the machine strictly requires to prevent the automatic general switch off in case of a simple and small dropping of voltage rate. For the machines Pto drive, it is important to check frequently the fuel level into the tank of the tractor and to secure its good general conditions to prevent the engine stop. 3 The chimney is provided complete with a top tilting cover (fig 5 pos 3.1). The cover must be always open while the machine is working, even in case of raining when the machine is outside. It is instead recommended to close the cover when the machine is not on work, particularly during the winter storing. 4 Attention at the chimney: Do not touch it while the burner is on, it becomes very hot and there are serious hazard of hand burns. Be sure the protection grid is permanently mounted on (Fig.5 pos. 4.1) 5 Draining plug for condensed water (Fig.5 pos 5.1) The plug is at the bottom of the chimney. Periodically remove it and leave the eventual water to drain out. This possible small inconvenient happens when drying at a very low temperature and it is the result of the condensation of the air humidity. 6 Checking and cleaning of the combustion chamber. At least once per season, remove the connector unit between burner and chamber (fig. 5 pos. 6.1) and have a look inside the chamber with the help of a portable or flash-light. In case you find a heavy residual of black soot, please brush it away and remove it by an aspirator unit. 8
