Single-channel programmers are intended for central heating only or combination boilers, and two-channel for central heating and stored hot water systems. Simple to set up, both programmers have versatile settings with up to 3 timed periods per day for each day of the week (for both hot water and heating in the two-channel programmer) and the option of DVNE and OOST features. 32 Installation Preparation 1) efore installation, the system should be thoroughly flushed to remove all sediment and other solids in accordance with S5449: ) It is recommended that the pump is fitted so that it can be isolated from the system water by the use of an isolating valve fitted to each end of the pump e.g. Pegler ulldog P300P pump isolating valves or similar. 3) Ensure that the pump is fitted so that the drive shaft of the pump is either horizontal or slightly above the horizontal position at the vent screw end. Under no circumstances must the shaft be below horizontal, vertical or near vertical, as this will damage the pump bearings and cause premature failure. 4) Ensure that the position selected for the pump gives access to the speed selector switch and to the terminal box/electrical connections. 5) No part of the pump must be fitted closer than 25mm from any combustible surface. Electrical Wiring 1) The electrical installation of the pump must comply with S7671: 2001 and be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician. 2) The electricity supply connected to the pump must be fused at 3 and be connected using a three-core heat resisting flex with a minimum cross-sectional area of 0.75mm 2 in each core. 3) Ensure that the electrical supply to the pump can be isolated fully either by means of a two-pole isolator with a minimum of 3mm contact separation in both poles or by means of a plug and socket. 4) Terrier T5 and T6 circulating pumps must be earthed. Unlike other devices air bubbles are not 'forced out' but simply diverted to an open vent. It relies on the natural buoyancy of the air (or gas) bubbles. Sludge or particles present in any system remain undisturbed. Valves and pump chambers are therefore protected ensuring a longer working life. If over heated water or steam is expelled via Ventair the water lost will be replaced automatically via the cold feed. This ensures the safe and constant running of the system. E D Recommended Installation Ventair can be installed simply. 1. Pipework to the Ventair should rise continuously from the boiler in accordance with standard practice. 2. Position the Ventair with the vent outlet pointing upwards. 3. It is important that the open vent pipe is fitted correctly. It should never dip below the horizontal level at any time, always rising in the horizontal plane to its discharge point above the water level in the cistern.
