5 . Single chimney or flueway DT Every appliance must have a vertical pipe, called flue, operating by natural draught to discharge the combustion gases outside. The flue must: --comply with regulations in force in the country where the appliance is to be installed; --be tight to the products of combustion, waterproof, suitably insulated, made with materials resistant to the corrosion of the gases and to stress; -- be connected to just one stove, fireplace or extraction hood (Fig. 2); --be properly sized, with constant free internal section, equal to or greater than the diameter of the flue pipe of the stove and at least 3.5 m in length (Fig. 2); --be mainly in a vertical position with deflection from the axis of no more than 45 (Fig. 2); --be at a suitable distance from combustible or flammable materials, ensured by an air gap or suitable insulating material; --be of uniform internal section, preferably round: square or rectangular sections must have rounded corners with a radius of at least 20 mm; with a maximum ratio between the sides of.5 (Fig ); --the walls must be as smooth as possible and with no narrowing; bends must be regular and continuous (Fig. 6). Fig. 2 MIN 3.5 M MAX 45 NO DT ddit is forbidden to make fixed or mobile apertures on the flue pipe to connect appliances other than the one to which it is already connected. ddit is forbidden to pass other air ducts or service pipes inside the flue pipe, however large it is. aaif the flue is the incorrect size or installed other than in compliance with the above instructions, Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. cannot be held liable for malfunctioning of the product, damage to property or injury to persons or animals. Fig. 3 Fig. 5 Ø DT Deposit of creosote Fig. 4 Fig. 6 R (min.20) Deposit of creosote DT R (min.20) P NO L(<,5xP) DT DT Soot inspection DT It is recommended that the flue has a chamber for collecting solid matter and any condensate below the connection and which may be easily opened and inspected by means of an air tight door. 6 .3 Chimney DT The chimney is the part which is positioned on the top of the flue to ease the dispersion of combustion products into the atmosphere. The chimney must comply with the following requirements: -- it must have an internal section and shape the same as the flue (A); -- it must have a useful outlet section (B) of not less than twice that of the flue (A); -- the chimney stack (the part of the chimney which emerges from the roof) and is in contact with the outside (e.g.in the case of a flat roof), must be covered with brick or tile elements and in any case it must be well insulated; -- it must be built in such a way as to prevent the penetration of rain, snow and foreign matter into the chimney and to ensure that in the event of winds from all directions and angle, discharge of the combustion products is assured (chimney with anti downdraught cowl). Fig. 7 A B* * B it is twice of to A DT Fig. 8 B A B DT Recommended distances for correct chimney operation. To ensure trouble-free operation of the chimney and allow correct dilution of the products of combustion into the atmosphere, the chimney must be installed at the distances given below: metres from any building or other obstacles that are higher than the chimney; centimetres higher than any obstacles located at a distance less than 5 metres; -- outside the reflux area. The size and shape of this area differ according to the angle of inclination of the roof and it is therefore necessary to adopt the minimum heights shown below. Fig m Example: Check the inclination of the roof (column α), and the anticipated distance of the chimney from the axis of the ridge (column A), if the distance is greater than A the height of the chimney may be read in (column H). If the distance is less than A the chimney must rise above the ridge by 0.5 metres. 7 .4 Fresh air intake DT In order to operate correctly the stove/fireplace must have the necessary air available provided through a fresh air intake. The air intake must: --have a total free cross section of at least the size indicated in the section TECHNICAL DATA ; --be protected by an external grille provided it does not reduce the recommended minimum section; --be positioned in such a way that it is not obstructed. Fig. 2 Fig. 3 DT DT The air necessary for the fire may be obtained in different ways: --through a fresh air intake direct to the room where the appliance is installed; --with ducting through pipes direct to the room where the appliance is installed, increasing the recommended minimum free cross section by at least 5%; --from an adjacent room to that where the appliance is installed provided the air flows freely from the outside through permanent apertures communicating with the outside. Fig. 4 aathe adjacent room from which the air is to be taken must not have a low pressure compared to the exterior due to a counter draught caused by the presence in the room where the appliance is installed of another appliance or extractor device. The adjacent room must have permanent apertures which comply with the requirements provided above. ddcombustion air must not be taken from adjacent rooms which are used as a garage, store room for combustible material or for activities with a risk of fire. Fig. 5 DT DT INSTALLATION environment DT The appliance should be installed in a location which allows safe and convenient use as well as easy maintenance. If the product being installed requires an electrical socket, the room must also be provided with an earthed power supply in accordance with current regulations. The room where the appliance is to be installed or adjoining rooms must comply with the following requirements: aathey must not be used as a garage, store for combustible material or for activities with a risk of fire. aathey must not have a low pressure compared to the exterior due to a counter draught caused by the presence in the room where the appliance is installed of another appliance or extractor device. aado not use two stoves, a fireplace and a stove, a stove and a wood-fire cooking range etc... in the same environment since the draught of one could affect the draught of the other. Devices suitable for cooking food with relative hoods without an extractor fan may only be used in kitchens. Type C gas appliances are allowed (refer to current legislation and regulations in the country where the appliance is to be installed). H072040UK0 / DT

8 ddtype B gas appliances are not allowed (refer to current legislation and regulations in the country where the appliance is to be installed). ddthe stove or fireplace must not be used simultaneously with collective type ventilation ducts with or without extractor fan, other devices or other appliances such as: forced ventilation systems or other heating systems using ventilation to change the air. These systems could cause a low pressure in the room where the appliance is installed even if installed in adjoining or communicating rooms. ddthe stove or fireplace must not be used: in stairwells except in buildings with no more than two apartments; in corridors for common use; in bedrooms; in bathrooms or shower-rooms..6 Load-bearing capacity of the floor DT Check the load-bearing capacity of the floor referring to the weight of the product as described in the section TECHNICAL DATA. If the floor does not have a suitable load-bearing capacity, take adequate counter-measures..7 Heating capacity DT Check the heating capacity of the appliance by comparing the rated power given in the section TECHNICAL DATA with the power required by the environment to be heated. The energy requirement may be calculated approximately by multiplying the square metres of area by the height of the ceiling, the result is then multiplied by a coefficient, which depends on the degree of insulation of the building, that is, on internal and external factors of the dwelling: --Internal factors: type of window and door frames, thickness of the insulation and walls, type of building materials, presence of stairwells, walls with extensive glazing, high ceilings, position of the rooms to be heated in relation to other adjacent heated or unheated rooms,... --External factors: geographical position, average outdoor temperature, exposure, wind speed, latitude, altitude,... Example of approximate calculation of the energy requirement to heat a fixed volume to 8/20 C: The coefficient that is normally used is determined according to the real conditions as they occur case by case. From 0.04 to 0.05 kw per cubic metre in a well insulated environment. From 0.05 to 0.06 kw per cubic metre in a poorly insulated environment. 3 rooms measuring 20 m 2 X (H ceiling) 2.7 m = 62 m 3 (volume) In an environment with a good degree of insulation, an average value (coefficient) of kw may be taken 62 (volume) X 0,045 (kw) = 7,3 kw necessary (6300 kcal/h) Conversion kw = 860 kcal/h aaconsult a heating technician or engineer for a correct check and calculation of the requirement of the environments to be heated (see REFERENCE STANDARDS ). aarated power being equal, products with Multifuoco system can evenly distribute heat throughout the rooms to be heated..8 Smoke outlet pipe DT aathe pellet stove is not like other stoves. The smoke draught is forced through a fan that maintains the pressure in the combustion chamber and maintains a slight pressure around the flueway; therefore it is important to ensure that the flueway is completely watertight and properly installed, both from the point of view of operation and of safety. The construction of the flueway must be carried out be specialised people and companies following the indications given in the manual. Always construct the flue system in such a way that periodic cleaning can be carried out without having to dismantle any parts. The pipes must always be sealed with silicone (no cementing agents) or adequate seals which maintain resistance specifications for elasticity at high temperatures (250 C) and are fastened with a self-threading screw Ø 3,9 mm. 8 H072040UK0 / DT

9 aafasten the flue to the wall with the appropriate brackets in such a way that the flue does not weight on the extraction fans. ddit is forbidden to install dampers or valves which may obstruct the passage of the outlet smoke. ddit is forbidden to install in a flue in which smoke or gases from other appliances is discharged (boilers, hoods, etc.). Pipes and maximum lengths which may be used The following pipes may be used; painted aluminium-coated steel (minimum thickness.5 mm), stainless steel (Aisi 36) or enamelled steel (minimum thickness 0.5mm) with rated diameter 80 mm or 00 mm (for pipes inside the flue max. 50 mm). The connecting male-female collars must have a minimum length of 50 mm. The diameter of the pipe depends on the type of system; the stove has been designed to take 80 mm diameter pipes but, as can be seen in table, in some case it is recommended that a double-walled 00 mm diameter pipe is used. Fig. 6 Ø00mm STRAIGHT REDUCER Ø80>Ø00 Ø80mm TABLE PIPE LENGTH TYPE OF SYSTEM WITH WITH DOUBLE- 80 mm WALLED 00 mm DIAMETER PIPE PIPE Max. length (with 3 bends of 90 ) 4.5 m 8 m For installation above 200 m above sea level - Compulsory Maximum number of bends 3 4 Length of horizontal section with minimum incline 3% 2 m 2 m aathe loss of pressure in a bend of 90 can be compared to that of meter of pipe; an inspectable T union can be considered equivalent to a bend of 90. EXAMPLE: If the length to be installed is greater than 4.5 m with 80 mm diameter pipes, calculate the maximum length to be covered in the following way: Fig. 7 TEE WITH SEALING PLUG INSULATING MATERIAL DT If the section to be covered uses at most 3 bends of 90, the maximum length of the section will be 4.5 m. If the section to be covered uses at most 2 bends of 90 and taking into account that a bend of 90 can be replaced by m of pipe, the maximum length of the section will be 4.5 m+ m=5.5 m. TEE DIRECTION OF CLEANING TEE Max. 2m (min. 3%) If the section to be covered uses at most bend of 90 and taking into account that a bend of 90 can be replaced by m of pipe, the maximum length of the section will be 4.5 m+ m+ m=6.5 m. If it is necessary to use 00 mm diameter pipes, connect the stove outlet with a 80 mm diameter T union and then a 80 mm 00 mm adaptor (not supplied by Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A.) (Fig. 6). T union The use of this fitting must allow for the collection of condensate mixed with soot which is deposited inside the pipe and allows for the periodic cleaning of the flue without dismantling the pipes. This fitting can be purchased from the Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. dealer together with the pipes. Below is an example of a connection that allows thorough cleaning without the need to dismantle the pipes of the system (Fig. 7). DIRECTION OF CLEANING DIRECTION OF CLEANING DT H072040UK0 / DT

10 .9 Connection to the traditional type flue DT If you want to use an existing flue it is recommended that it is checked by a professional chimney sweep to ensure that it is watertight. This is because the smoke, as it is under slight pressure, may infiltrate cracks in the chimney and invade living spaces. If following inspection it is clear that the flue is not perfectly intact, it is recommended that it is lined with new material. If the existing flue is large, we recommend inserting a pipe with a maximum diameter of 50 mm, it is also advisable to insulate the smoke outlet pipe (Fig. 8-9). Fig. 8 CHIMNEY STACK For connection to the flue, it is recommended that pipes and bends produced by the Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. are used, as these are compatible with the smoke outlet. WITH DAMAGED FLUE Other pipes may also be applied after having checked the compatibility of the coupling or adapted it, bearing in mind that the pipes and bends must be made to current standards and regulations. In this case, however, Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. only guarantees proper operation for its own manufactured products that are used in compliance with instructions. TEE PIPE INSERTION INSULATING MATERIAL Ø 50 mm MAX If the fitting has to pass through partitions or walls of inflammable or heat-sensitive materials, or load bearing walls, an insulating barrier equal to or greater than 0 cm must be created around the fitting using mineral-based insulating material (rock wool, ceramic fibre) with a nominal density of at least 80 kg/m Ø 80 mm INSPECTION WINDOWS If the fitting passes through partitions or walls of inflammable or heat-sensitive materials an insulating barrier equal to or greater than 5 cm must be created around the fitting using mineral-based insulating material (rock wool, ceramic fibre) with a nominal density of at least 80 kg/m Fig. 9 CLOSING FLANGE DT Check that the connection to the flue is tight to the smoke with the operating conditions of the appliance slightly pressurized. Check that the pipe does not go too far into the chimney, creating a bottleneck at the flue. aamake sure that everything is installed in a correct, workmanlike manner. 11 .0 Fresh air intake DT Only a flue which meets the following requirements can be used: --only insulated (double wall) stainless steel pipes fixed to the building are to be used (Fig. 20); --at the base of the pipe there should be an inspection point for periodic inspections and maintenance; --it must have a wind proof cowl and respect the distance from the ridge of the building as described in the section CHIMNEY. Fig. 20 d aamake sure that everything is installed in a correct, workmanlike manner. FRESH AIR INTAKE WITH NON-CLOSABLE GRILLE DT Prevention of domestic fires DT The installation and use of the product must be made in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and in compliance with European, national and local regulations. aawhen a smoke outlet pipe passes through a wall or ceiling, specific installation methods need to be applied (protection, insulation, distance from heat sensitive materials, etc...). Refer to the section CONNECTION TO THE FLUE. It is recommended that all elements made of combustible or inflammable material such as beams, wooden furniture, curtaining, flammable liquids etc. be kept outside the heat radiation range of the stove and at a distance of at least 80 cm from the heating block. For other information, see the section MINIMUM SAFETY DISTANCES and CONNECTION TO THE FLUE. The flue pipe, chimney stack, chimney and fresh air intake must always be free if obstructions, clean and checked periodically i.e. at least twice during the seasonal period from the lighting of the stove and during its use When the stove has not been used for some time it is advisable to carry out the checks mentioned above. For further information, consult a chimney sweep. Only use recommended fuels (See chapter FUEL ). H072040UK0 / DT

16 3.0 FUEL The wood pellet is a fuel which is obtained by pressing wood sawdust left over from the working of natural dried wood. The typical small, cylindrical form is obtained by passing the material through a die. Thanks to lignin, a natural element which is released during the pressing of the raw material, the pellets acquire a good consistency and compactness without requiring treatment with additives or caking agents. There are various types of pellet on the market with qualities and characteristics that vary depending on the processes they have undergone and the type of wood used in their production. Since the characteristics and quality of the pellet considerably affect stove performance, efficiency and proper operation, we recommend that you use high-quality pellets. Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. has tested and programmed its stoves and can ensure best performance and trouble-free operation using pellets with the following specific characteristics: Pellet specifications Parts Natural pure wood pellet Length, approx mm Diameter, approx mm Apparent density, approx. 650 kg/m 3 Specific weight, approx. >.0 kg/dm 3 Net heat value, approx. 5 kwh/kg Moisture content, approx. < 8 % Residual ash, approx. < 0.5 % Note: : the above data refer to beech/fir wood pellets Choosing other unsuitable pellets may; --obstruct the brazier and flue gas pipe; --increase fuel consumption; --reduce efficiency; --mean that proper stove operation cannot be guaranteed; --cause dirt to build up on the glass; --leave particles which have failed to burn and heavy cinders. DT The presence of moisture in the pellets increases their volume and causes them to split which in turn causes: --malfunction of the fuel-loading system; --inefficient combustion. Pellets should be stored in a sheltered, dry place. When using good quality pellets but with dimensions and heat-producing properties other than those recommended above, it is necessary to change the stove operating parameters. aathis "customisation" of stove settings must only be carried out at a Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. service centre or by specially qualified personnel authorised by Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. aausing pellets that are out of date or not in conformity with the manufacturer's recommendations not only damages the stove and jeopardises its performance, but can render the guarantee null and void and relieves the manufacturer of all liability. To ensure trouble-free operation: DO NOT use pellets with dimensions other than those recommended by the manufacturer DO NOT use pellets containing sawdust, bark, maize, resins or chemical substances, additives or adhesives. DO NOT use damp pellets. 6 H072040UK0 / DT

17 4.0 PREPARATION FOR INSTALLING DT To prevent accidents or damage to the product we recommend the following: --unpacking and installation must be carried out by at least two people; --the product must always be moved and handled with suitable equipment in full compliance with current safety regulations; --the packaged product must be kept in the position according to the directions shown by the diagrams and signs on the pack; --if ropes, straps or chains are used, ensure that they are able to take the weight of the pack and that they are in good condition; --use slow continuous movements when moving the pack to avoid jerking the ropes, chains etc. --do not tilt the package excessively to avoid toppling; --never stand in the vicinity of loading/unloading equipment (forklift trucks, cranes etc.). Fig. 25 VT To remove the stove from the pallet unscrew the 4 screws (A) (Fig ). The two rear brackets are disposable (Fig. 26). aaunpack the product being careful not to damage or scratch it, take the accessories kit and any pieces of polystyrene or cardboard used to wedge moveable parts etc. out of the stove. Please remember to not leave parts of the packaging where they are within the reach of children (plastic, polystyrene bags, etc.) which may be dangerous and dispose of them according to legislations currently in force. Fig. 26 A A 5.0 INSTALLATION DT With reference to the safety standards in force overseeing electrical appliances, in the instance of all installation, maintenance or intervention operations, which involve accessing the inside of the cladding or smoke box, you must seek the assistance of the Technical Support Centre or qualified personnel. Fig. 27 Securing the stove The stove still needs to be secured to a fixed support, for example a wall, but making sure that the minimum safety distances are respected (see section MINIMUM SAFETY DISTANCES ). This is done by using the appropriate bracket (A), which can be adjusted depending on the distance from the fixed support (Fig. 27). aathe stove is equipped with spacers at the rear which allow it to rest against a wall. A Before assembling the cladding, make sure that all the screws have been tightened and that the stove is secured well. H072040UK0 / DT

18 5. Multifuoco system DT Piazzetta's technological research and development mean that this pellet stove offers the advantages of the Multifuoco system, a system EXCLUSIVE to and PATENTED by Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. A truly innovative system for pellet stoves. Fig. 28 The Multifuoco System revolutionises all ventilated hot air diffusion systems currently associated with pellet stoves: not only is the heat produced by the fireside distributed from bottom-up within the room, but it is also possible to channel this heat, via a 75 mm diameter flexible pipe, to diffuse the hot air into adjacent rooms (Fig. 29). This exclusive floor heat diffusion system has the significant advantage of even temperature distribution (Fig. 28). The warm air produced is driven by two fans via the grille located at the front in the bottom part of the appliance. 19 Instructions for ducting hot air The ventilation kit which expels heat into the atmosphere is equipped with one Y shaped element which allows the air flow to be doubled up, directing it via a flexible pipe to the back of the stove from where it can be directed into other environments. The following are some examples of installation of the stove and examples of warm air ducting systems for heating. These examples are merely indicative, performance is optimal with 7.5 cm diameter pipes coated as described in the subsection Wall and ceiling ducting systems and with a maximum total length of pipe of 8 meters. This length is given by the sum of the individual lengths of pipes, plus the elbows and Y elements. aaevery bend and/or Y connector is comparable to metre of straight ducting. The following examples give the indications for ducting. Each figure represents only one example of the many possible solutions. Fig. 32 Fig. 33 To achieve some of the proposed solutions it is necessary to use an aluminium flexible pipe with a diameter of 75 mm, air outlet vents and Y elements, none of which are supplied. Solution - Fig : The stove is installed in the room with the heat directed to the front only (Fig. 32), as standard or from a side aperture (Fig ). Fig. 34 Solution 2 - Fig. 35: The stove is installed in the room which is to be heated, with the heat directed to the rear and with a maximum total pipe length of one meter. In this case, the appliance heats the environment where it is installed by heat radiation alone while the adjacent room is heated by the rear ducting. aafor the example shown in Figure 35, it is necessary to use a non-closable vent. Fig. 35 m max H072040UK0 / DT

20 Solution 3 - Fig. 36: The appliance is installed in the room with the heat directed to the side. In addition, thanks to the installation of a Y element, heat is directed to the rear allowing the heating a second room. 36). aafor the example shown in Figure 36, it is necessary to use a non-closable vent. Fig. 36 Solution 4 - Fig. 37: Extending the previous solution, with the stove installed in the room to be heated and heat directed to the side of the appliance with doublingup using a second Yelement at the rear as shown. aafor the example shown in Figure 37, to avoid overheating, install a vent with closure for the shortest section allowing for some of the air to be released. Fig. 37 Wall and flooring ducting - Fig For effective channelled heat distribution, you must: --coat the pipe with insulating sheath 2 cm thick (e.g. mineral fibre, ceramic fibre, rock fibre) in order to limit dispersions and to ensure an adequately high air temperature. --the insulating sheath must have a specific weight equal to or greater than 50 kg/m³ with a minimum operational temperature limit of at least 250 C. Thermal conductivity λ (00 C) W/mK. The thermal insulation materials must have AGI Q32 or DIN 8895 labels. aaif the insulation material does not form part of flooring or walls, it will be necessary to fix it to the surface using fixing points spaced out at 30 cm intervals. Opposite are some flexible pipe wall and flooring arrangement examples. 25 6.0 USE DT Do not use the stove as a cooking appliance. Ensure that the room in which the stove is installed is sufficiently well ventilated (fresh air intake). Ensure that all joints in the flue are hermetically sealed using a silicone (not cement-based) sealant which is resistant to heat (250 C) and which shows no sign of deterioration. Check (or have checked) regularly that the smoke outlet is clean. Under no circumstances use fuel other than pellets. Remove any deposits of unused pellets left by failed ignition before restarting the stove. aasome parts of the stove (door, handle, controls, ceramic parts) may reach extremely high temperatures during operation. Take great care and all necessary precautions, especially in the presence of children, the elderly or disabled, or pets. Keep any inflammable objects well away from the stove while it is in use (MINIMUM: 80 cm from the front panel). While in use the door must remain closed and the glass must be present and intact. The removal of the protective grille inside the pellet hopper is strictly prohibited. If topping up with pellets while the stove is lit, ensure that the bag does not come into contact with the hot surfaces. DT Loading the pellets DT In order to load pellets into the tank, we recommend removing the bag flap opening and emptying it into the tank. This way, the loading operation is easier and you avoid spilling the pellets over the appliance. aado not allow the build-up of residue at the bottom of the tank. aawhen loading pellets make sure that they do not spill out of the tank and fall inside the stove because it could ignite when in contact with hot parts. 27 6.3 First START-up DT Before turning on the power, check that the brazier is positioned correctly in its seat and pushed back towards the deflector. During the first few times you turn on the stove, an odour will be released due to the evaporation of the paints and oils used in the manufacture. At this stage, it is best to have proper ventilation of the installation premises, avoiding prolonged stay therein because the vapours may be harmful to people or animals. The first stove start-ups must be done so as to allow the stove body to settle and the paints to evaporate. Therefore, the stove must be used in the following conditions: --function at average power for the first 5-6 hours from the time of fuel ignition. (during this phase, the expansion caused by the heat, will allow the settling of the stove body); --after the settling phase, the stove must be used at maximum power for a period that ranges between 6 and 0 hours, depending on the quantity of paint present on the stove body that must evaporate. The period of operation at full power must not necessarily be carried out continuously but can be divided during two time bands interrupted by at least 3-4 hours of stove inactivity. At the end of this period, the paint will have evaporated and the stove must be used at the power suitable for normal operating conditions. If necessary, the stove can be used at full power for an additional period in order to ensure total paint residue evaporation. When the tank is loaded for the first time, the auger must have time to fill; during this phase, the pellet is not distributed within the combustion chamber and it is very likely that the first light up attempt fails; to this end, load the auger manually following the instructions in the "LOADING AUGER" table in the "MENU PARAMETERS" section of these instructions. Shut down the stove if the alarm trips by pressing and briefly holding the ON/OFF button, empty the pellets inside the brazier and set a new start-up. The residual pellet in the brazier must be disposed of. H072040UK0 / DT

28 6.4 START-up and normal functioning DT Before proceeding with lighting the stove remember: aacheck that the fireside door is well closed. For example: st cycle: from 06.00h to 09.00h. 2nd cycle: from 20.30h to 23.00h. In the DAY program 2 time slots established can be engaged or disabled for all days of the week. For example: the user wants the stove to switch on the stove from 06:00 to 09:00 every day In the WEEK program the 2 time slots established can be engaged or disabled for all days of the week. For example: the user wants the stove to switch on from 06:00 to 09:00 on Monday and Tuesday, but not on Wednesday, and so on. In the WEEK-END program the 2 time slots established can be engaged or disabled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For example: the user wants the stove to switch on from 06:00h to 09:00h on Friday, Saturday, but not on Sunday. This type of thermostat allows for three types of programming (DAY - WEEK - WEEK-END) always saved; the programs can be enabled or disabled by selecting the SET CHRONO menu. We recommend having only one program active in order to avoid program overlap. aathe CLOCK MUST BE SYNCHRONISED BY SETTING CURRENT DAY, HOURS AND MINUTES THE FIRST TIME THE PROGRAM IS ACTIVATED, similar to buying a new watch and setting the current time. START WE PROGRAM 2 20:30 DT MulticomfORT DT The pellet stove is fitted with a Multicomfort function which works in conjunction with the Multifuoco System to improve heat distribution. This function allows the room temperature to be read from the stove or from the remote control, so that the Multifuoco settings can be varied according to the requirements of the rooms to be heated If the airflow from your stove has been ducted to other rooms you may read the temperature in the room where the stove is installed or in the room where the remote control is positioned. Example: your stove is installed in a small room and you are only ducting the heat from the rear of the stove (see solution 2 in the section "MULTIFUOCO SYSTEM"). You can position the remote control in the room to which the hot air has been ducted and set the required temperature from this room. To carry out the necessary settings see the Multicomfort menu. 46 MULTICOMFORT This function is used to choose the sensor for reading the room temperature, from the stove or the remote control. To maximise the potential of the Multifuoco fan functions, read the sections MULTIFUOCO SYSTEM and MULTICOMFORT OPERATION. Function Action Display message Select the MULTICOMFORT menu Press the MENU key, with the SELECT MENU key select MULTICOMFORT and confirm by pressing the SET key. MULTI COMFORT Select the STOVE sensor or REMOTE CONTROL sensor Press the SELECT MENU key and select RRC to read the room temperature from the remote control or STOVE to read the room temperature from the stove, confirm by pressing the SET key. Once confirmed the readout FUNCTION ENABLED will appear on the display and the remote control will automatically return to the initial display. SELECT RRC SELECT STOVE aaif the MULTICOMFORT function is set on the remote control and for some reason there is no communication between the remote control and the stove, after approximately 2 minutes the reference sensor will automatically change to become the sensor installed on the stove. Remember that if the stove status is OK (power ) as a result of the room temperature reading of the remote control, it may not be OK according to the temperature reading from the actual stove which will consequently go to the power level set by the user. In all cases of lack of communication between the remote control and the stove, the emergency display is used. DT Energy Saving DT Enabling the ENERGY SAVING mode activates automatic stove start and stop at temperature values defined by the functions STOP and START. The work principle is as follows: When the temperature detected by the sensor reaches the temperature programmed by the user, the unit will automatically switch to power. (Readout OK on the display). If the temperature continues to rise until it reaches the value set on the STOP function (e.g. + 2 C above the set temperature) while the stove is running in power, the unit will turn off and go into a stand-by state. When the room temperature detected by the remote control or stove drops to the temperature value set by the user on the START function (e.g. - 3 C compared to set temperature), the stove enables a new start phase and returns to the power previously set by the user. aathe stove will re-start only when the temperatures detected by the appliance allow safe operation. If the STOP function is OFF, upon reaching the set temperature the stove will operate in the traditional way modulating power without shutting down. In a similar manner if the START function is OFF, the stove will not enable the start phase after automatic stop and will remain off. If the ENERGY SAVING has been set, the CHRONO mode only handles the start and stop of the programmed time slots. aathis function cannot be handled by the external thermostat, but only from the supplied remote control. 46 H072040UK0 / DT

STATE STOVE Display stove status The display shows: --smoke motor RPM; --pellet unloading time; --smoke temperature; --room temperature; ENC 0000 COC 000. c c 6.7 Multifuoco System OpERATION DT The pellet stove with Multifuoco System is equipped with one/two fans depending on the model which oversee hot air diffusion. This provision enables multiple channelled hot air diffusion solutions, allowing the user freedom of choice depending on adjacent rooms to be heated. Below, you will find a general and concise description of the operation of the Multifuoco System supplied. It is possible to set the Multifuoco System according to four speeds to match fan operation to the ducting solution selected. These speeds are represented by the values 0, 02, 03, 04 which appear in the row under the display and small rectangles numbered from to 4 in the row above. When switching from speed 0 to speed 04, the fan air flow increases. Once the speed of the Multifuoco System has been set, it is possible to select a higher or lower heat quantity by selecting from the five appliance power levels: P,, P5. In the same way, more heat is provided by the appliance when switching from power P to power P5. It is left to the user, based upon their own experience of using the stove, to set the Multifuoco speed and the appliance power. These selections should be based upon the ducting distance and the desired heating temperatures (by way of example, the longer the channelling route, the higher the set speed of the Multifuoco System). For each solution described in the chapter INSTALLATION in the section MULTIFUOCO SYSTEM, there is a recommendation for the Multifuoco fan speed. If SOLUTION is selected, it is recommended that fan speed 0 is selected on the control panel. If SOLUTION 2 is selected, a greater thrust of hot air will be required and in this case fan speed 02 should be chosen on the control panel. Finally, if SOLUTION 3 and SOLUTION 4 are selected, even more thrust will be required and in this case fan speed 03 or 04 should be selected on the control panel. To select the desired Multifuoco value, see the paragraph START-UP AND STANDARD OPERATION. H072040UK0 / DT

52 6.8 Safety devices aasome parts of the stove (door, handle, ceramic parts) may reach extremely high temperatures during operation. DT Remember to maintain the safety distances indicated previously. Be extremely careful, take the necessary precautions and always follow the instructions. If any part of the appliance or of the outflow pipe leaks smoke while the stove is in use, shut down the appliance immediately and air out the room(s). Once cooled try to look for the cause of the leak and call specialised technicians if necessary. The unit is equipped with some devices which intervene in order to ensure the safe operation. aathe safety devices are designed to eliminate any risk of damage to persons, animals or things, and their tampering or intervention by unauthorized personnel could compromise security. Description SMOKE BOX DEPRESSION The pressure switch, which is connected to the smoke flue, controls the vacuum inside the flue allowing for the appliance to be used in total safety. Fig. 59 The humidifier holds 230ml of water which will last between two and three days depending on the stove's use. If it is necessary to clean the humidifier tank, it can be accessed with the stove off and disconnected from the power supply, simply by lifting the upper closure element being careful not to damage the painted parts of the stove. Fig. 60 aawhen refilling the humidifier do not exceed the maximum capacity, shown as MAX, since this could lead to damage to the appliance. 6.2 Disposal of ash DT Ash from natural (non-treated) wood burned in stoves or open fireplaces is composed mainly of calcium, silicon, potassium and magnesium. The ashes can therefore be used as a fertiliser for plants or in the garden, albeit not exceeding 2.6 kg per 0 m². aathe ashes should be placed in a metal container with a sealed cover. The sealed container should be placed on a non-combustible surface at a safe distance from combustible materials until the cinders have completely extinguished. dddo not though live cinders into organic waste containers. 56 H072040UK0 / DT

57 7.0 MAINTENANCE DT With reference to the safety standards in force overseeing electrical appliances, in the instance of all installation, maintenance or intervention operations, which involve accessing the inside of the cladding or smoke box, you must seek the assistance of a Technical Support Centre or qualified personnel. Maintenance is to be considered compulsory for correct and efficient stove operation. If maintenance is not carried out with the recommended frequency stove performance could suffer. The manufacturer will not be responsible for stove deterioration or malfunction if due to poor maintenance. All maintenance work (cleaning, any replacements etc.) must be carried out when the stove is shutdown and cold and with the power cable disconnected. The frequency of interventions noted below are merely indicative. For the disposal of ashes please refer to the section DISPOSAL OF ASH. Do not use any material that could scratch or spoil the glass, as scratches may develop into cracks or breaks; under no circumstances use abrasive substance. aathe frequency of cleaning depends on how much the stove is used and the quality of the fuel. DT Cleaning the brazier and brazier support DT Periodically (approximately every couple of days) and before each startup, you must clean the brazier area: --Remove the brazier deflector (B) and release the brazier (A) from its housing; --Remove all ash and any incrustations which may have formed, paying attention to clear clogged holes using an appropriate tool. --Keep the start-up hole (C) on the left of the brazier clean. --Check the brazier support and remove any ash present. Fig. 6 B A The frequency of this operation depends on how much the stove is used and the quality of the fuel. aawhen replacing the brazier and before switching on the appliance, check that the brazier is correctly positioned in its housing and pushed back towards the rear lower deflector. Insert the brazier deflector. aaa vacuum cleaner is needed when carrying out this cleaning operation to vacuum up the ash. aafor the disposal of ash please refer to the section DISPOSAL OF ASH. Fig. 62 C C DT DT Cleaning the ash tray DT Every two days, check the ash drawer to see if it needs emptying. For the disposal of ash please refer to the section DISPOSAL OF ASH. H072040UK0 / DT

58 7.3 Cleaning the combustion chamber DT Once a week, clean the combustion chamber as follows: Fig Remove the brazier deflector and release the brazier from its housing. --Remove the upper deflector using the central grip. Lift it to unblock it from the grooves on the side and rear deflectors then lower it and remove it from the combustion chamber. DT Remove the two side deflectors and the rear deflector extracting them from the lower grooves. --Clear the ash which has gathered in the combustion chamber using a vacuum cleaner. --Subsequent to thorough cleaning, proceed with re-assembly of the internal deflectors, following the instructions above in reverse order. --Refit the brazier pushing it towards the left. --Reposition the brazier deflector. aaa vacuum cleaner is needed when carrying out this cleaning operation to vacuum up the ash. aafor the disposal of ash please refer to the section DISPOSAL OF ASH. Fig. 64 DT Cleaning the smoke chamber DT Clean the smoke chamber once a year as follows: --Remove the screws which secure the smoke chamber cover, then lift it slightly and take it out by pulling it towards you. Fig. 65 DT Fig. 66 DT Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any ash and carbon deposits which can accumulate in the chamber, taking care not to damage the blades of the fan. --Check that the hole on the left side inside the smoke chamber is always clean without dust and ash, otherwise clean it. After performing a thorough cleaning, refit the cover. Fig. 67 DT H072040UK0 / DT

59 7.5 Cleaning the flue system DT We recommend that this maintenance is carried out at least once a month until the relevant experience of operation conditions has been acquired. Clean the pipes with a ramrod. If necessary, particularly on the first few occasions, we recommend calling a qualified technician. Fig. 68 B A B In the smoke outlet configurations and 3 (see section SMOKE OUTLET ) it is possible to access the T smoke outlet pipe by removing the plugs (A) (B) unscrewing the relevant screws. For configuration 2, it is possible to access the T pipe by removing the left side panel (see chapter INSTALLATION of the INSTALLER INSTRUCTIONS manual of the cladding) and plug (B), unscrewing the relevant screws DT Cleaning the ceramic cladding DT The ceramic cladding must first be cleaned with a soft dry cloth before using any detergent (even if mild). Products are available on the market which are suitable for cleaning ceramics as well as concentrated products for cleaning porcelain to remove oil, ink, coffee and wine stains etc. ddnever soak the ceramic cladding or clean it with cold water when it is still hot as the thermal shock could cause it to crack. 7.7 Cleaning the steel parts DT When cleaning the painted metal parts of the product, use a soft cloth moistened with water. ddnever clean metal parts using alcohol, solvents, petrol-based products, acetones or other degreasing or abrasive substances. In the event of such substances being used, the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused. Discolouration of metal parts may be the result of misuse. DT Cleaning the glass (daily) aathe glass should be cleaned when cold using ammonia-based degreasing agents and not corrosive substances such as solvents. It is likely that tar will build up on the glass during the lighting stage but this will burn off with the stove in full operation. If, however, the tar is left to build up over a long period it will require more effort to remove it therefore we recommend the glass is cleaned daily before lighting the stove. dddo not use any material that could scratch or spoil the glass, as scratches may develop into cracks or breaks.
