3 Lavenders (Lavandula) are native to the Mediterranean area. They are used in informal edgings, beds, rock gardens, knot gardens, and in mass plantings. The fragrant purple flowers are used in cut or dried arrangements, medicine, and in cooking. They prefer a well-drained, sandy soil, and grow best in full sun. They benefit from a shearing after the first bloom. They are deer and rabbit resistant.
