3 Budget 2016/17 The Board of Directors have finalized the budget for the new Financial Year commencing on 1 March 2016 and there will be an increase in levy of 10.15%. A special levy of R per household will also need to be paid by homeowners to provide for the upgrade of the Estate s Security. Correspondence regarding the levy increase and special levy has already been distributed by the HOA as well as Pro Admin. Boardwalk Manor Pg 3

4 Homeowners Meeting The Board of Directors would like to invite you to an informal meeting where matters of concern, suggestions, recommendations, feedback on matters, etc. can be raised and discussed. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15 March 19:00. Please forward any items you would like to raise at the meeting to the Estate Manger so that the Board can be properly prepared to answer your questions. We are looking forward to meeting with you. 5 Security Upgrade The Board of Directors have appointed the services of AMAX Electronics (Pty) Ltd to install cameras on the perimeter wall as well as internal cameras within the Estate. The Estate will also have an internal control room where the cameras will be monitored 24/7. We believe that this is a big step forward to provide better safety and security to the residents. The installation will be done over the next few weeks and should be finalized by the end of March AMAX might require access to some of the properties next to the perimeter wall to install the cameras, but these residents will be notified prior to installation for the necessary arrangements to be made. Your cooperation in this regard will be greatly appreciated. We would like to ask residents living next to the perimeter wall to remove any foliage that could possibly interfere with the electric fence and/or visibility of the cameras. Boardwalk Manor Pg 5

6 Servest Landscaping Personnel Uniform The Marketing Department of Servest have changed the uniforms of the Servest Landscaping Personnel. New uniforms have been issued to the Servest Landscaping Personnel. They are now wearing blue uniforms with yellow reflective jackets and no longer khaki uniforms. Boardwalk Manor Pg 6

7 New Internet to the Estate MTN is currently still busy with their project plan and will make contact with residents as soon as they are ready to proceed with their project. In the interim, residents need to make alternative arrangements for internet connectivity as the current service will no longer be available from 1 March Boardwalk Manor Pg 7

9 Connections to hoa Borehole Water The HOA are currently busy with an investigation to establish if there are any residents who are illegally connected to the Estate s irrigation system to water their gardens with the Estate s borehole water. This is against the Estate Rules. If it is established that a resident is illegally connected to the Estate s water supply, a penalty of R will be issued. Boardwalk Manor Pg 9

11 Garden Tips for March Now is the time to start thinking about planting winter flowering bulbs. Even the smallest garden can have a drift of daffodils if the bulbs are planted in groups and not in straight rows. Start sowing Namaqualand daisies, Ursinias and Bokbaaivygies in sunny places in the garden. They grow easily and make a magnificent display. Water summer flowering annuals which are still flowering. Pull up those, which have come to the end of their flowering season and prepare the beds for winter flowers by digging in well-matured compost and 2:3:2. Continue sowing hardy summer flowering annuals in the winter rainfall and warm frost-free areas. Best results are usually obtained from seed sown in seed trays. If these annuals are sown now the seedlings will stand through the winter and start flowering early next summer: Keep the ground mulched around shrubs with compost and water once every three weeks during hot and dry weather. Pay special attention to watering camellias and azaleas. Hose down azaleas once a week in dry windy weather. Boardwalk Manor Pg 11
