MEASURE A Completed Bond Projects October 26, 2010
Background On March 2, 2004, the voters of Riverside County passed ballot Measure A, authorizing the issuance and sale of $49,000,946 of General Obligation Bonds (GO Bonds.) The issuance and sale of the GO Bonds (Series A) closed on June 15, 2004, for a principal amount of $49,499,946. These funds were deposited into the Riverside County Treasury.
Citizens Oversight Committee Members LaDonna Jempson Lydia Mendoza Temo Ortega Mark Ramirez Nicolas Rodillas Harold Trubo Katie Wenke
Bond Projects $50,000,000 $30,000,000 3 New Schools $20,000,000 Modernization
2007 Refunding of G.O. Bond Due to increasing construction costs, additional funding was needed to help completed projects on Project List. At that time, interest rates were low and there were large increases in assessed valuation within school district boundaries making it feasible to refinance. Refinancing generated an additional $6.4 million in funding and allowed the bonds to be paid off four years early.
Funds Secured From G.O. Bond General Obligation Bond $50,000,000 Bond $106,049 Other Funding $1,483,872 Interest $6,515,017 GO Bond Refunding $58,104,938 Total
