Until now, the cost of safety has been paid at the expense of aesthetics. As the market leader in decorative lighting, we believe safety and aesthetics can indeed co-exist. Whether utilized in college campuses, urban areas or parking lots, a functionally attractive alternative is finally available. This series is designed to compliment surrounding architecture while providing critical safety functions. Our entire Emergency Box offering is ADA compliant, making them accessible from wheelchairs or car windows. The units contain state-of-the-art technology, allowing them to be wired to campus security systems or even to the EMS #911. An optional LED light illuminates the display panel providing 100,000-hour lamp life with a start temperature of -40º C. The unit comes standard with a 7 watt compact fluorescent lamp to light the panel. Box: ACB2 W17 The decorative posts feature five unique designs all manufactured in durable cast aluminum. They are finished with a protective polyester powder coat paint suitable for any environment. The Lighting Post series (see ACB4 family) allows any post-top Antique Street Lamps luminaire to be added, including our new Dark-Skies series B W. Hot Dip Galvanized 3/4 Ø, L-type Anchor Bolts (4 per post) Materials: The post bases and call box phone unit housings are heavy-wall, low-copper, cast aluminum. The shafts, on units ACB3 & ACB4, shall be 4 diameter extruded aluminum. Posts S9, W17, NY17 and CH16 have fluted shafts and post S4S6 has a smooth shaft. Construction: All posts are one-piece construction. The shafts are telescoped into the bases and the call box housing and double welded for maximum structural integrity. An integral 3 O.D. x 3 tenon is included for luminaire mounting on unit ACB4. Installation: The posts are provided with four, 3 4 diameter, hot-dip galvanized, L-type anchor bolts. The bolt circle for posts W17 and NY17 is 12 Ø, for post CH16 it is Ø, for post S9 it is 9.5 Ø and for post S4S6 it is 10.5 Ø. A door is provided in the base for anchorage and/or wiring access. The Sussex Series and Eurotique Series have a cast, bolt cover. A terminal block is located inside the base opposite the door for easy access. Finish: The posts and call box housing are finished with a premium Polyester Powder coating. Standard colors are Black, Dark Bronze, and Dark Green. Custom Match is a color to match a specific color sample. Custom Select are colors chosen from a wide selection of RAL colors. The stainless steel front panel on the call box phone unit is painted bright yellow. Hardware: All hardware is tamper-proof stainless steel. Box Phone Unit: The unit shall be an easily identifiable, high quality, vandal-resistant communications device that is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, constructed of stainless steel, and shall operate using 120V or 277V. The device shall be hands-free, designed so that a single touch on the red button shall immediately and automatically dial a preprogrammed number. Immediately after establishing the phone connection with the receiving party, the communications device shall be capable of sending a signal identifying the specific unit being activated. The speakerphone shall have one 1.5 inch piezoelectric button labeled PUSH FOR HELP, one 3/8 inch diameter red light emitting diode (LED) labeled Being Placed, and one 3/8 inch diameter green LED labeled Received. The front panel of the call box is illuminated by a 7 watt compact fluorescent lamp installed in the housing. There shall be an option for LED lighting instead of the fluorescent lamp. LED s provide 100,000 hours of lamp life with a start temperature of -40 C. Units ACB2 and ACB3 shall have a combination blue beacon and strobe assembly. The beacon shall be constantly illuminated in order to facilitate locating the unit. The strobe shall be automatically activated upon using the communications device, continuing to flash, drawing attention to the location until the recipient terminates the call. The beacon/strobe assembly shall consist of a 5 watt lamp (the beacon) and a 1,000,000-candlepower lamp (the strobe light), which flashes a minimum of 60 times per minute, both located under a blue Lexan-type polycarbonate refractor. Battery backup shall be rated for 16 hours of active talk time and 32 hours of standby. Shipping: All post assemblies with call boxes and call boxes with strobes are shipped fully assembled and ready to install.
