Product Description USR/CNR The products covered by this report are dc-to-dc converter switch mode power supplies, Models PKD 4xxx. May be followed by suffix ASI, SI, SIN, SIOA, SIOAN, SIOD or SIODN. They are provided with terminal pins for connection to their nominal rated dc source of supply and output connections. Model Differences ASI = Surface-mount, Insulated, Selectable Negative or Positive remote control logic. SI = Surface-mount, Insulated, Positive remote control. SIN = Surface-mount, Insulated, Negative remote control. SIOA = Surface-mount, Insulated, Optional output 1.5V (A), Positive remote control. SIOAN = Surface-mount, Insulated, Optional output 1.5V (A), Negative remote control. SIOD = Surface-mount, Insulated, Optional output 1.2V (D), Positive remote control. SIODN = Surface-mount, Insulated, Optional output 1.2V (D), Negative remote control. L and H = different output voltages (1.2V and 1.5V), E = the new series (PKD-E) The only difference between an old PKD series and a new PKD-E series schematic diagram is the component numbers and the layout. PKD-E series and the PKD series have the same electrical rating and foot print, the difference is mechanical: PKD is build on a ceramic board with all components on the pin side and a lead frame welded on top, PKD-E is build on a fiber glass board with all components on the top side and it has no pins. For PKD-E models suffix SI indicates surface-mount, Insulated, Selectable Negative or Positive remote control logic and SRI suffix indicates the same suited for leaded soldering, suffix SPBI indicates use of solder paste with lead (Pb). Additional Information The label is a draft of an artwork for marking plate pending approval by National Certification Bodies and it shall not be affixed to products prior to such an approval. E A8-CB-3-Reissue (12CA68488) This report is a reissue of CBTR Ref. No.: E A8-CB-2, CB Test Certificate Ref. No. DK due to standard upgrade to IEC Edition + Amenmend 1 and EN :2006 +A1:2010 +A11:2009 +A12:2011. Based on the previously conducted testing and the review of product technical documentation including photos, schematics, wiring diagrams and similar, has been determined that the product continues to comply with the standard No tests conducted under this investigation due to reissue of CB Test Report Ref. No. E A8-CB-2. All required tests were carried out under the original investigation

Technical Considerations The product was investigated to the following additional standards: EN : A11: A1: A12:2011 (which includes all European national differences, including those specified in this test report). The transformer in the converter is not relied on for providing any insulation. It provides Functional insulation only. -- Output voltages remain within SELV limits, even with internally generated non-selv voltages. This was demonstrated by performing Abnormal Tests including single component failure and functional insulation bypass with various grounding conditions, and with the input and output floating. In all cases the output voltage did not exceed SELV. -- All models are evaluated and tested for use at altitude up to m based on consideration that FUNCTIONAL INSULATION is employed in te product and tested by method c). -- The product was submitted and evaluated for use at the maximum ambient temperature (Tma) permitted by the manufacturer s specification of: Maximum Case Temperature of 90 C -- Engineering Conditions of Acceptability When installed in an end-product, consideration must be given to the following: These components have been evaluated for FUNCTIONAL INSULATION only between input-output. -- When the DC-DC converter is supplied by ELV and SELV respectively, the following is considered: a) when the input comply with ELV the output of the DC/DC converter may be considered ELV; b) when the input comply with SELV, the output of the DC/DC converter remains at SELV under normal and abnormal operation condition. -- For cases when the supply voltage is higher than 60Vdc up to and including 75Vdc the following must be adhered: The input source to the DC/DC Converter must:, a) Be separated from primary circuit by DOUBLE/REINFORCED INSULATION (SELV or TNV-2 circuit), or, b) Be separated from primary circuit and earth by minimum BASIC INSULATION and the SELV circuits reliably connected to main earth terminal. -- Output voltages remain within SELV limits, even if the input supply voltage is up to 75Vdc and considering the source is centralized d.c. power system (DC mains voltage) treated as TNV-2 circuit
