4 Introduction This user guide is intended for those persons who have rights to supervise or operate the Entero Voice Alarm Control and Indicating Equipment (VACIE) at access level 1 &2. The different access levels for mandatory indications and controls related to mandatory functions are defined in the EN54 16:2008 standard: Access level 1 For member(s) of the general public or persons having a general responsibility for safety supervision, who might be expected to investigate and initially respond to a fire alarm or a fault warning. Access level 2 For persons having a specific responsibility for safety and who are trained and authorized to operate the VACIE in the: quiescent condition, voice alarm output condition, fault warning condition and disablement condition. Access level 3 For persons who are trained and authorized: to re configure the site specific data held within the VACIE or controlled by it (for example; labeling, alarm zoning, alarm organization), to store and change of emergency tones and messages and to maintain the VACIE in accordance with the manufacturer's published instructions and data. Access level 4 For persons who are trained and authorized by the manufacturer to either repair the VACIE or alter its firmware, thereby changing its basic mode of operation. Accessibility of indications and controls at: Access level 1 All mandatory indications (Voice Alarm condition, General errors, System faults and Power status) are visible without the need of manual intervention Access level 2 All manual control and indicators are accessibly by a special procedure: VACIE: requires a mechanical key which allows to open the front door only Entero Fire Panel: requires a mechanical key to open the door; an optional code (combination of button presses) can be used in addition to this. Entero Evacuation Panel: requires a code (combination of button presses) to enable operation of the panel. Access level 3 Requires a password to enter the setup & configuration section of the Entero ESC unit, requires special tools to open Entero components for access to internal settings & memory cards and requires a mechanical key (different from the front door) to open the rear door or to remove the side panels of the VACIE cabinet. Access level 4 Requires special tools and programming devices to service or repair Entero components. NOTE: Access level 3 and access level 4 are not covered in this user guide. 4

Emergency panel priorities: Priority handling of each panel type is defined by type and ID nr. of the panel (where ID 1 has highest priority and ID 32 lowest priority). These priorities can only be configured during setup of the system and cannot be changed by the user of the system. In order of priority: 1. Fire Panel microphone 2. Evacuation Panel microphone 3. Fire Detection System interface mic./line input 4. Fire Panel alarm message(s) 5. Evacuation Panel alarm message(s) 6. Fire Detection System interface 7. External Audio input NOTE: the Fire Detection Interface and External Audio input have no manual controls and are therefore not covered in this manual Fire/Evacuation Panel main control 12 Button expansion board Lamp test: Press and hold the Lamp Test button to test all indicators and the internal buzzer.
