This unit combines a light and compact design with improved performance and reliability over time in terms of safety, efficiency and energy saving guaranteeing a lifespan of 20 years of constant high quality illumination. The ACRAB series is suitable for installation at low and medium heights in all those areas defined as hazardous due to the presence of gases and explosive dusts such as Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. The universal steel mounting bracket complies with all application requirements. Unlike the rest of the market that offers a modification of LEDs inside old lighting fixtures, the ACRAB series has been specifically designed to meet the technical requirements of LEDs. 6 ACRAB Characteristics The body of the lamp acts as a heat dissipater for the LED plate meaning that more powerful lighting can be installed without causing any deterioration of the actual LEDs. The protective shockproof glass plate is resistant to high temperatures and ensures that light emissions do not pollute the surrounding environment. The LED board is positioned in a separate chamber housing the electronic power supply system and this in turn is separated by an Ex e terminal box housing that is used to connect the lighting fixture to the electronic power supply system through a cable gland with an Ex (non barrier) O-ring as specified in EN/IEC The fact that discharge lamps containing mercury are not used in hazardous areas makes these light fixtures eco-compatible and they have a no cost environmental impact in the event of recycling. LED lights can be fitted with a lens that changes their photometric properties meaning that the same lamp body can replace a traditional discharge lamp lighting fixture. A further advantage in using ACRAB series LED fixtures lies in the knowledge that the degree of illumination will never just fade. If one LED fails, the others keep on working and when the lamp is turned on, the light reaches its maximum level instantly. 11 ACRAB Thermal Imaging Following a very brief initial period, the lamp reaches thermal stability. This image shows the heat detected. With the ambient temperature at 28 C (as shown by the blue background) the LED lamp barely touches 56 C at the hottest point. This thermal performance is tangible proof of the high efficiency of LED lamps as a source of light. 21 Oil refineries Chemical and petrochemical plants Polar Lighting fixtures for LED tubes POLAR (Ex de) series have two low copper content aluminium heads fitted with G13 lamp holder, a tempered borosilicate glass tube that is resistant to changes in heat and a white painted aluminium reflector. The Ex de lighting fixture features an Ex e terminal board housing that allows entry to the lamp with a cable gland with an Ex seal (normal) as specified in installation standard (EN/IEC ). 22 Polar Characteristics The entry to the Ex d lighting fixtures must be through an Ex barrier cable gland (sealed) or, in the case of a conduit system, with an EYS, EZS series sealing fittings. The round cross section of the lamp provides a better Cx coefficient with less resistance to the wind and less accumulation of dust. For this reason, these units are recommended for use in hazardous places where climatic and environmental conditions are severe and as they require less maintenance thanks to a very high ageing index. As the electrical components are housed on a frame with guides, re-lamping is quick and efficient. The fact that the fixture is fitted with a glass tube as opposed to a plastic material, makes it more effective and with a longer lifespan. The LED technology, thanks to 4 high output LEDs, ensures low power consumption, a long lifespan (50,000 hours) and thus lower maintenance costs. The lighting fixture consists of an aluminium alloy body, a borosilicate glass globe and stainless steel fitting components. 27 Atex Beacon 360 degrees Mintaka Series Characteristics Luminex Series Atex Delvalle The lamp housing contains: an LED plate, heat dissipater, power supply unit, support frame, terminal board, polycarbonate reflector and sealed diaphragm. The Ex de degree of protection allows connection using an Ex nonbarrier cable gland making these lighting fixtures ideal for any type of plant. The red MINTAKA lighting fixture, with light intensity in more than 32 candles, complies with ICAO and FAA. In compliance with this standard, the luminous flux of the lighting fixture on the horizontal plane is 360 while it is less than 10 on the vertical plane. For this reason, it falls into the Low Intensity lighting fixture category. Additional benefits offered by MINTAKA fixtures include: lower maintenance costs, better visibility in critical weather conditions, zero environmental impact due to the absence of toxic or harmful substances and minimal light pollution thanks to the well defined directional beam. 27

31 Mizar Characteristics These Ex d IIC traffic lights are suitable for regulating traffic in chemically aggressive industrial environments or potentially explosive areas classified as Zone or 22. It is made of low copper content aluminium and features tempered glass, coloured polycarbonate lenses and painted steel sun shades. The benefits offered by the new MIZAR system are as follows: lower maintenance costs, better visibility in critical conditions thanks to the LED lamps, better reliability thanks to the guaranteed continuous light even if one LED fails and, lastly, the lack of any phantom effect. 31

34 FORNAIS Example Characteristics Technical specifications The new LED lighting fixtures FORNAIS series has been developed with the aim of redefining the concepts of compactness, versatility and ease of installation thanks to the new LED lighting system COB (ChipOnBoard). This features Multichip LED formed from a matrix of LEDs connected together and covered with a layer of diffused phosphorus. This technology allows to obtain high values of lumen output and the installation at low heights, without the risk of di- sturbing the operator. The FORNAIS series consists of three lighting fix tures sizes and represents the LED alternative for all those areas in which it was usual to use lighting fixtures with discharge lamps of low and medium power up to 400W. It s equipped with fins that act as a heat sink and the electrical connection is easier thanks to a Ex e terminal box which allows the entry with a Ex e cable gland (no barrier). In addition, a tapped opposed hole allows the loop in/loop out facility. 38 TUREIS Description TUREIS series increased safety lighting fixtures for LEDs tubes are sui- table to be installed in hazardous areas where a high degree of protection and resistance against corrosion is required. TUREIS series is GRP made and features the Ex e mb method of protection. It s equipped with LED tubes sealed in a transparent resin and covered with remote phosphor diffusers able to reduce glare. The through wiring double ended makes installation on field easier and faster. This ensures excellent protection against dust and water over time despite of the degradation caused by ageing.
