1 1 Emergency Evacuation Plan EMERGENCY WARNING SIREN THIS IS A CONTINUOUS SIREN (60 seconds) Continuous Warning siren is the indication for all personnel to evacuate outside school buildings. 1. EMERGENCY WARNING SIREN THIS IS A CONTINUOUS SIREN (60 seconds) Emergency evacuations are for a range of situations such as fire, bomb threats, chemical, civil disorder and the like. Staff and students are to move to the assembly point on the warning siren. The Principal will activate the continuous siren Office staff will call ASSEMBLY POINT School Oval Futures classes Collect class roll from Administration Officer (wearing a luminous vest) assigned to your House. Students assembles adjacent to their House designated area. All staff without a Futures class Report to the Administration Officer (wearing a luminous vest) assigned to your House to be accounted for and then assist with student supervision Support Staff Staff who are working with students are to ensure that the students are returned to their Futures teacher at the assembly point and then report to the Administration Officer (wearing a luminous vest) assigned to your House to be accounted for and then assist with student supervision All Schools Officer, Science Operations Officers and Teacher Aides are to report to the Administration Officer (wearing a luminous vest) assigned to your House to be accounted for and then assist with student supervision Canteen Staff/Parent Volunteers Report to Human Resource Manager Visitors All contractors and visitors report to Human Resource Manager. EVACUATION ROUTES All staff are responsible for ensuring that students exit by the safest route possible in a calm and orderly manner refer to Evacuation Map in every classroom Ask students to stand, leave all belongings behind, and walk quickly and calmly Ensure that doors and windows are locked Follow routes indicated on the map. Staff and students are to remain assembled until the all clear given.

RESOURCES/RESPONSIBILITIES Principal or delegate to contact emergency services HODs, HOSE and staff to check all buildings Antcliffe Art Studios (AS), Music Block, PAC (Kinections) building Armstrong TD Building and CR Building Dann Isabella Dawson and Southern Amenities Germain MA and AJ Boyd Staffroom Keavney Resource Centre and Central Amenities Kenny Multi-Purpose Centre and Lower Lecture Centre Lovely Executive Services Building, Uniform Shop and Canteen Naidoo CO and HM buildings and Northern Amenities Norton SciTech, Foundation Science (SC) and IT Building Prahaladh Lecture Centre (upper level) Flesser Student Support Services Building Smits Food Tech and Hospitality Services Front Office staff to take student absence/late rolls, operational diary, visitor records, supply teacher record, first aid kit to the assembly point. Front Office (Ronni Richardson or proxy) to supervise sick bay students. Fire Warden/DP will take one loud hailer to the assembly area. All phone communication is to be via mobiles only. In the event of a prolonged emergency evacuation, the HMS HoD/ delegate is to retrieve filled water tubs and plastic cups from Southern Amenities Storeroom and return to the assembly point. 5. ATTENDANCE CHECK Teachers who took the Futures roll in the morning check for any unaccounted students using Futures class/late rolls and report to Admin member assigned to that house. Admin member assigned to that house to liaise with the Fire Warden/DP regarding any follow up action or discrepancies. Human Resource Manager to check supply teachers in the school Fire Warden/DP will liaise with the Principal prior to declaring the all clear. 6. ALL CLEAR SIGNAL The Principal/ DP gives the ALL CLEAR. Students return to classrooms, collect belongings and/ or dismissal.
