3 OHS WORKPLACE INSPECTION (2) CHECKLIST RATING GUIDELINES Access and Egress! no underfoot hazards at entrance to buildings or in car park! lighting adequate in car park and entrance! no traffic hazards in accessing or leaving car park! car parking does not create traffic hazards! controlled access for visitors and contractors Gravitational hazards (underfoot) Corridors / Aisle Ways / Traffic areas! clean, clear, no obstructions protruding into pathway! no items left on the floor! no electrical leads or hoses crossing pathway! unobstructed view at intersections Floors! not slippery! no gaps, cracks, tears or any damage that could cause a tripping accident! no spills left uncleaned or slipping hazard! area around work stations clear and not cluttered! ramps, steps and changes from one level to another do not create a hazard! wet floor sign used as appropriate! steps firm with non slip treads Falling objects/people! w here workers are working more that 2 M above ground level and there is a risk of falling, there are fall prevention and fall restraint devices in place! where there are unsecured objects located more than 2M above floor level and where people may be present the objects are restrained or there are devices to prevent falls Noise! people do not have to raise their voice to be understood!
