Re-entry: Do not enter treated field until spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective clothing. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions; quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weed against the remedy concerned, as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment, or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS: - Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling this product. - Avoid contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils For safety when mixing: - Wear eye protection (face shield). If you get in your eyes, flush it out at once. - Wear rubber gloves. - If you get it on your skin, wash it off at once. - If you spill it on your clothes, change and wash them. - Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container. For safety when spraying: - Avoid contact with the spray as much as you can. - Avoid spray drift onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. /25/05/

3 For safety after spraying: - Clean applicator thoroughly after use and dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers or dams. - Destroy empty container and do not use for any other purpose. - Change and wash your work clothes. - Wash yourself. USE RESTRICTIONS: 1. Do not use on inbred parent lines of maize hybrids or experimental or newly released cultivars without first consulting with your chemical supplier or with the seed company concerned. 2. Do not use on poorly drained soils or soils with a compaction layer as under these conditions waterlogging can occur and the herbicide may cause crop injury. 3. When tank mixing other herbicides with the restrictions and warnings on the labels of the herbicides concerned, must be adhered to. 4. Do not apply to sandy soils which are susceptible to wind erosion. 5. Flood irrigation can reduce weed control performance. 6. Crop restrictions : Maize and ERUPT should be applied as a split application only and are restricted to areas other than the lower potential soils of the Northwest Province, North and Western Free State. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as indicated. COMPATIBILITY: No known cases of incompatibility with other agricultural chemicals have yet been reported. If tank mixes are however desired, first mix small quantities of the chemical separately in water - then add these together whilst stirring and check for any signs of incompatibility e.g. flocculation, etc., before making mixtures in spray tank. is compatible with Ametryn 500 SC, Diuron 800 SC, Cheetah 600 SC, Alachlor 384 EC, Eland, Rhino, Erupt and EPTC 720. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Half fill the spray tank with clean water then add the required amount of and stir thoroughly. When using tank mixes, mix the required volume of chemicals to be tank mixed with a little water separately before adding each one individually to the spray tank. Then fill the spray tank to the correct volume with water. Do not mix the products as concentrates. Ensure thorough agitation before and during spraying. APPLICATION: - BUFFULO can be applied by means of a tractor drawn boom sprayer or equivalent equipment fitted with a choice and arrangement of fan-type spray nozzles ensuring even distribution and good recovery of spray mixture onto the soil. Apply in at least 200 water / ha. - must ideally be applied immediately following planting but not later than 5 days after planting. - Continual rain or sprinkler irrigation of at least 15 mm is needed after application to leach the chemical into the soil where weed seeds germinate. If however rainfall does not occur in time and weeds begin to emerge and develop, a shallow cultivation must be carried out to destroy these weeds and to mix the herbicide with the upper mm of soil. - To ensure good weed control the seedbed must be fine, firm and free of any existing weed growth or excessive crop residues prior to application. /25/05/

4 APPLICATION RATES: A. Use the lower dosage rate if a short period of weed control is required between application and a cultivation and / or a follow-up application. The higher rates must be used in cases of high grass pressure and / or for the suppression of yellow nutsedge. Low temperatures and / or heavy prolonged rains soon after planting may cause herbicide damage to the crop such as reduced germination, stunting, etc. These symptoms can be aggravated when seed is planted too deep. Follow up with Atrazine SC or Cheetah 600 SC, before emergence of weeds after a cultivation, or early post-emergence as a tank mix of Atrazine SC plus 2,4-D amine before broadleaf weeds are at the 5 leaf stage. Crab-fingergrass (Digitaria sanguinalis) must be treated before the 3-leaf stage. Apply as a pre plant, shallow incorporated treatment followed by an early post plant, pre- or post emerge treatment of Rhino or Atrazine SC or Cheetah 600 SC or a post emerge treatment of Atrazine SC plus 2,4D- amine tankmix. Incorporation of should be in a fine, even seedbed free of clods and trash, using a tine implement set as 5 10 cm to give an effective incorporation depth of 2,5 5 cm. Tines should be set to give an even incorporation with a rolling basket, drag harrow or spring loaded fine tooth harrow in tandem. 8 Early post emergence treatments must be applied before the 5-leaf stage of broadleaf weeds and before tillering of annual grasses. Crab-fingergrass (Digitaria Sanguinalis) must be treated before the 3 leaf stage. D: MAIZE FOLLOW UP APPLICATION AFTER EPTAM SUPER TREATMENT For extended weed control in EPTC Plus or Eptam Super treated maize, apply within 3 weeks after planting alone (see maize single application Table 1) or in a tank mix with either Rhino or ERUPT or Atrazine SC or Cheetah 600 SC within 3 weeks after planting (see maize single application in tables 2 5). Before applying, all existing weeds should be destroyed by a shallow cultivation. Where the crop has emerged, all applications should be directed inter row and not over the crop row. E: MAIZE CONSERVATION TILLAGE Apply a tank mix of Duiker/SHAIK-DOWN 180 and prior to or within 1 day after planting the crop (see maize single application Table 1). This treatment is directed at destroying existing young weeds and having pre-emerged herbicidal action. In the event of a total weed cover at application time, little to no pre-emergence activity of could be expected. It is recommended in such situations that should be applied as a tankmixture ( see tables 2 5 ). The planting process may result in weed emergence on or near the row and use should be made of a later post emergence treatment. The above tank mix can be mixed with Atrazine SC (see maize single application in tables 2 5) but it is essential to establish herbicide compatibility before large scale application. (The quality of the water used for dilution most often determines the compatibility). Do not spray this mix if there are signs of flocculation or setting out in the spray tank. If compatibility problems do occur, spray the Atrazine SC separately. F: SUGAR CANE PRE-EMERGE APPLICATION can be used in combination with other herbicides for pre- and post emergence weed control in plant ratoon sugarcane. 10 WEED CONTROL: Refer to list of weeds controlled below. The control of yellow nut-sedge as well as some broadleaf weeds may be variable depending on favorable conditions. Refer to list of variable weed control for specific information. To increase the spectrum of broadleaf weeds controlled, it is recommended that either tank mixes or follow up application of standard registered broadleaf herbicides are used in combination with, in accordance with the manufacturer's label recommendations. Such applications must be made according to label recommendations of the products as recommended by manufacturer. The registration holder does not accept any liability in respect of the control of unlisted weeds. CONTROL OF THE FOLLOWING WEEDS IS VARIABLE: Cyperus esculentus yellow nutsedge Where the control of Cyperus esculentus is dependent on the following: Where a dosage choice is given, the higher rate should be used. Planting must be preceded by a deep ploughing. must be applied immediately after planting or within 2 days. ± 12mm rain/irrigation must fall within 7 10 days of spraying. NOTE: Cyperus esculentus control may only be achieved under the following conditions: Planting into a fine and firm seedbed must be directly preceded by a deep mouldboard ploughing. Spraying must take place within 2 days after planting and sufficient continual soaking rain (at least 15 mm on light soils and 25 mm on heavy soils) has to occur before the yellow nutsedge plants start to germinate and develop. /25/05/
