Keep out of reach of children and uninformed people. Store in a cool, dry place. Store away from food and feed. Aerial application All aerial applications of this remedy must conform with SABS Code of Practice 0118 in respect of the standards set (now known as SANS 10118). Notify all inhabitants in the immediate vicinity of the area to be sprayed and issue the necessary warnings. Do not spray over and allow drift to contaminate water adjacent areas. Should the recommended dosage rate be exceeded, damage to crop may occur. NB: Sulfonyl Urea herbicides is a highly active herbicide that in very small quantities can cause serious damage to crop seedlings and deciduous fruit trees during the budding and early season growth stages. Under the following conditions it can cause serious damage as far as 3 to 5 kilometers from the nearest flight path of the aircraft. Cloudy weather with relative humidity above 80% and low air movement of less than 5 km per hour. Where such conditions prevail, aerial application should not be carried out near crops as described above. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soils, climatic and storage conditions, quality or dilution water, compatibility with other substances not included on the label and the occurrence of resistance of weeds against the remedy concerned, as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage of crops, vegetation, the environment, or harm to man or animal or for the lack of performance of the remedy concerned, due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions, which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS Do not inhale dust or spray mist. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after accidental skin contact. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while mixing or applying. Avoid spray drift onto susceptible crops, grazing, rivers, dams, and areas not under treatment. Clean applicator thoroughly after use using the following guidelines to ensure that all traces of VULCAN are removed: a) Drain tank and flush spray-tank, boom and hoses with clean water for at least 15 minutes. b) Fill tank with clean water and add 1l Sodium hypochlorite (5,2%) per 200 l water. Rinse hoses and spray-boom with this solution and keep in the tank for 15 minutes whilst agitating. Drain rinsate through nozzle outlets. c) Repeat step (b) and thereafter rinse equipment thoroughly with clean water. VULCAN/07/07/

3 Do not spray, drain, or flush equipment on or near desirable trees or plants where their roots may extend. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water, water supplies, and eating utensils. Destroy empty container and never use for any other purposes. RESISTANCE WARNING: For resistance management, VULCAN is a group code B herbicide. Any weed population may contain individual weeds naturally resistant to VULCAN and other group code B herbicides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds may not be controlled by VULCAN or any other group code B herbicide. In order to delay herbicide resistance: Avoid the exclusive and repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide group code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different herbicide group codes. Integrate chemical and cultural control methods into weed control programmes. For more information on resistance management, contact the registration holder of VULCAN. USE RESTRICTIONS 1) Follow-up crops A. DRY LAND: TREATED AREAS SHOULD NOT BE PLANTED WITH ANY CROP OTHER THAN SMALL GRAIN CEREALS (WHEAT, BARLEY, OATS) WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF VULCAN TREATMENT. WHEAT, BARLEY AND OATS MAY BE PLANTED WITHIN 1 MONTH AFTER VULCAN APPLICATION. B. IRRIGATION: IN CASES WHERE THE SOIL ph (WATER) IS 7 LESS, FOLLOW-UP CROPS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF COTTON AND CRUCIFEROUS CROPS), MAY BE PLANTED WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF APPLYING VULCAN. IF THE SOIL ph IS >7 AND / IF THE FOLLOW CROP IS COTTON A CRUCIFEROUS CROPS THEN THE WITHHOLDING PERIOD IS AS MENTIONED UNDER ABOVE. 2) Residual action. VULCAN has a short residual action on germinating weeds which can be influenced by a variety of factors including ph, soil moisture content, prevailing weed species, etc. 3) Variable control and / or regrowth of the weeds may occur under the following circumstances: a) Product is sprayed onto light acid, sandy soils which are: - prone to leaching - prone to waterlogging - experience extended periods of wet and cold. (as for example in the Bokkeveld). b) Product is applied to soils covered with excessive trash or rocks. c) Application is made more than 3 weeks after weed emergence in the winter rainfall region. 4) In cases where the conditions described under 3(a) and 3(b) above are experienced in the winter rainfall region, application of the herbicide must occur no later than 2 weeks after weed emergence. 5) Diclofop-methyl containing herbicides, must not be applied within 10 days after a VULCAN application. 6) Under no circumstances should unused spray mixture be kept overnight. 7) Do not spray VULCAN to crops growing under stress conditions such as waterlogging, drought, cold weather conditions, disease, insect damage and mineral deficiencies. 8) Undersown cereals: VULCAN must not be applied to cereals undersown with pastures. 9) Dilution water: The quality if the spray-water is important. Only use water which is at least suitable for overhead irrigation. Do not use water which has a conductive potential exceeding 1,0 m S / cm, or has a resistance lower than 300 ohm if the water ph > 8. 10) Do not apply VULCAN in combination with insecticides containing chlorpyrifos (e.g. CHLPYRIFOS 480 EC, Reg. No. L 6272) as severe stunting of the crop may result. VULCAN/07/07/

4 DIRECTIONS F USE: Use only as directed Apply VULCAN as a post-emergence spray to both crop and weeds. Prepare only sufficient spray for immediate use following the guidelines given below: PRE-MIXING Mix the required number of VULCAN soluble bags with a small amount of water to form a smooth cream without any remaining granules. MIXING Half fill the spray tank or pre-mix tank in case of aerial application with water. Add the creamed product to the tank through a sieve. Top up the required volume while agitating continuously, and then proceed as follows: High volume (e.g. groundsprayer) Add the required amount of CITOWETT (Reg. No. L 2986), or AGRAL 90 (Reg. No. L 2987) or BP AGRIPRON SUPER (Reg. No. L 3022) or ARMOBLEN 600 (Reg. No. L 4095) to the spray mixture and wait until thoroughly mixed before application. Low volume (e.g. by aircraft) Sprinkle the correct amount of drift retardant on the surface of the most turbulent portion of the spray mixture. Add the required amount of surfactant to the spray mixture and allow to agitate for two minutes, so as to ensure thorough mixing before the mixture is pumped into the aircraft. APPLICATION GROUND APPLICATION Apply by means of a tractor mounted boom sprayer which is correctly calibrated to deliver at least 200 l spray mixture / ha at a constant speed and pressure ( kpa) to ensure an even delivery. Avoid overlapping of swaths and close the nozzles while starting, slow movement, turning and stopping to prevent over-application. AERIAL APPLICATION Aerial application of VULCAN may only be done by a registered Aerial Application Operator using a correctly calibrated, registered aircraft according to the instructions of SABS Code 0118 (Aerial Application of Agricultural Pesticides). Ensure that the spray mixture is distributed evenly over the target area and that the loss of spray material during application is restricted to a minimum. It is therefore essential that the following criteria be met: Volume: A spray mixture volume of 30 l per hectare is recommended. As this product has not been evaluated at a reduced volume rate, the registration holder cannot guarantee efficacy, or be held responsible for any adverse effects if this product is applied aerially at a lower volume rate than recommended above. Droplet coverage: 40 to 60 droplets per cm² must be recovered at the target area. Droplet size: A droplet spectrum with a VMD of 350 microns is recommended. Limit the production of fine droplets less than 150 microns (high drift and evaporation potential) to a minimum. Flying height: Maintain the height of the spray boom at 3 to 4 metres above the target. Do not spray when aircraft dives, is in a climb or when banking Use suitable atomising equipment that will produce the desired droplet size and coverage, but which will ensure the minimum loss of product. The spraying system must produce a droplet spectrum with the lowest possible Relative Span. Position all the atomisers within the inner 60 to 75 % of the wingspan to prevent droplets from entering the wingtip vortices. The difference in temperature between the wet and dry bulb thermometers, of a whirling hygrometer, should not exceed 8 C. Stop spraying if the wind speed exceeds 15 km/h. Stop spraying under turbulent, unstable and dry conditions during the heat of the day. VULCAN/07/07/

5 Spraying under temperature inversion conditions (spraying in or above the inversion layer) and/or high humidity conditions (relative humidity 80 % and above) may lead to the following: - reduced efficacy due to suspension and evaporation of small droplets in the air (inadequate coverage). - damage to other sensitive crops and/or non-target areas through drifting of the suspended spray cloud away from the target field. Ensure that the Aerial Spray Operator knows exactly which fields to spray. Obtain an assurance from the Aerial Spray Operator that the above requirements will be met and that relevant data will be compiled in a logbook and kept for future reference. DOSAGE RATE RECOMMENDATION CROP APPLICATION RATE REMARKS All types of soil. Most of the weeds should have germinated but the recommended time of application may not be exceeded. Established weeds, which are not controlled through cultivation, or show signs of regrowth will not be controlled. Do not apply when the crop shows any signs of stress such as drought. Aerial application: 15g VULCAN /ha + drift retardant + one of the following adjuvants. Adjuvants Amount / 100 l spray mixture ARMOBLEN 600 CITOWETT AGRAL 90 BP AGRIPRON SUPER 100 ml 0.5 l 0.5 l 1.5 l Although a temporary yellowing of the leaves and / or a reduction in the strawlength may occur after application, yield will be adversely affected. The best results will be obtained when applied young, actively growing weeds under moist conditions. Consult Mixing Instructions before mixing and application. VULCAN/07/07/
