Causes eye irritation. Very toxic to fish Re-entry interval: Do not enter treated field within unless spray deposit has dried up or unless wearing protective clothing. Aerial application : Notify all inhabitants in the immediate vicinity of the area to be sprayed and issue the necessary warnings. Do not spray over or allow drift to contaminate water or adjacent areas. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions; quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the pest against the remedy concerned, as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment, or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS : Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Avoid contamination of food, feed, drinking water and eating utensils. Wear rubber gloves and face shield when handling the concentrate. In the event of contact with eyes or skin, wash with water immediately. Do not inhale the dust or spray dust. While spraying, avoid contact with the spray as much as possible. Prevent spray drift onto susceptible crops, grazing, rivers, dams and other non-target areas. 3 Clean applicator thoroughly after use, using the following method: Drain tank completely, then flush tank, boom and hoses with clean water. Drain again. Half fill the tank with clean water and add chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite) to give a 0,025 % available chlorine solution in the spray tank, i.e. use bleach with 4,5 % available chlorine at the rate of 1 bleach / 100 water. Flush through boom and hoses, then allow to stand for 10 minutes with agitation. Drain completely. To remove traces of bleach, rinse the tank with clean water and flush through booms and hoses. Repeat this procedure. Nozzles and filters must be removed and cleaned separately with chlorine bleach solution at the same concentration as above. Any contamination on the outside of the spraying equipment should be removed by washing with clean water. Do not dispose of wash water where it will contaminate other crops, grazing, rivers or dams. Do not spray, drain or flush equipment on or near desirable trees or plants or where their roots may extend or could come in contact with the herbicide. Containers and packages must be completely emptied before being disposed of. Shake out thoroughly into the mixing or spray tank before destroying the empty container. Destroy empty container and do not use for any other purpose. DIRECTIONS FOR USE : Use only as indicated. Use restrictions: Treated areas should not be planted with any crop other than sugarcane within 18 months of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP treatment. Do not spray PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP in sugarcane which is growing under stress conditions such as water logging, drought, disease, insect damage and mineral deficiencies (especially nitrogen deficiencies). Do not mix PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP with hormone-type (phenoxy) herbicides such as MCPA; 2,4- D and Ioxynil + 2,4-D etc as this may result in phytotoxicity. Special notes: 1. Rainfall and/or irrigation must follow within a maximum of 7 days after treatment to incorporate the herbicide. The sooner this occurs after spraying, the better the results obtained. 2. Cool, dry conditions prevailing after treatment may adversely effect the efficacy of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP. 3. Longer residual activity may result when PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP is applied to soils with a ph exceeding 7,0 (water) and/or soils containing free lime. Consult your technical adviser for more details. 4. PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP has a long residual effect on germinating weeds, the control of which might be affected by factors such as weed species, soil ph, soil moisture and soil temperatures. 5. Soils with exceptionally high clay content, high cation exchange capacities and exceptionally high organic matter may also reduce the overall efficacy of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP. 6. Prepare only sufficient spray for immediate use and under no circumstances should unused spray mixture be held overnight. 7. PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP must only be mixed with spray-water which is of the same quality as that suitable for irrigation. (Avoid water with a conductivity exceeding 1,0 ms/cm, a resistance of less than 300 ohm and ph above 8). Resistance warning: For resistance management, PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP is a group code C 1 and herbicide. Any weed population may contain individuals naturally resistant to PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP and other group code C 1 + B + K 1 herbicides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds may not be controlled by PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP or any other group code C 1 and herbicide. PARABAT EXTRA 660WP/28/06/

4 To delay weed resistance: Avoid exclusive repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide group code. Alternate or tank-mix with products from different herbicide group codes. Integrate the control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into herbicide control programmes. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. Mixing instructions: Mix the required amount of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP with a small amount of water to form a smooth slurry. Half fill the spray tank with water. Add the pre-mixed slurry to the tank through a sieve. Top up to the required volume while agitating continuously. Add the required amount of VOLCANO 90 or VOLCANO BLEND surfactant. Surfactant: The post-emergence activity of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP is greatly enhanced by the use of a surfactant such as VOLCANO 90 or VOLCANO BLEND. It is therefore recommended that such products be used as a matter of course. Method of Application: 1. General: The active ingredients in PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP are leaf and root absorbed and must be applied during active growth phase of the target weeds. Application onto moist soil is ideal and rainfall and /or irrigation shortly afterwards is necessary to enhance the herbicidal action of the active ingredients. The degree and duration of control will depend on the dosage rate, rainfall and soil type. Do not exceed the recommended dosage rates. Avoid application to plants under stress from abnormal weather (hot or cold), growing conditions such as drought, water saturated soil, disease, insect or prior herbicide damage as crop injury or poor weed control may result. Delay application until stress period passes. Application: Always keep the spray mixture agitated to ensure adequate and uniform mixing. Spray the soil surface or weeds by means of a tractor mounted boom sprayer or knapsack sprayer. Use an application volume of water / ha (using the lower application volume for post-emergence treatment). Ensure that the application equipment is correctly calibrated and that a uniform and evenly distributed spray is obtained. Apply as a directed inter-row spray and avoid excessive overlapping as well as contact with the sugarcane foliage. Moist conditions after application will ensure good control. 2. Prepare only sufficient spray for immediate use and under no circumstances should unused spray mixture be held overnight. The higher the ph of the spray medium, the sooner the spray mixture must be used. 3. Before applying PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP herbicide, the soil should be prepared so as to have as fine a tilth as possible, be free of clods and should not have any excess residue of the previous crop on the surface. Note that for plant cane, Paraquat 200 SL (L2215) can be added to the spray mixture as a tank mix for early post-emergence (weeds) treatments prior to the germination of the cane. 4. Adequate application of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP to the prepared land will be achieved by adherence to the following recommendations for good spray coverage: Ground application: Spray equipment should be clean and properly calibrated before use. Spray pumps should be set to provide nozzle pressure of kpa for T-Jet nozzles (boom sprayers) and kpa for flood-jet nozzles (knapsack sprayers). When using conventional sprayers aim to apply spray volume of not less than 200 liters per hectare. PARABAT EXTRA 660WP/28/06/

5 Application timing: Broad-leaf weeds: PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP can be applied pre-emergence to early post-emergence but not later than the 3-leaf stage of development. Application after the 3-leaf stage may be too late for effective control. Grasses and yellow nutsedge: PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP should be applied pre-emergence to early post-emergence but not later than the 3-leaf stage of development. Application to tillered grasses will be too late for effective control. In plant cane, Paraquat 200 SL can be added as a tank mix prior to the emergence of the cane. Purple nutsedge: * Pre-emergence: Where heavy weed density is expected, apply immediately after planting or after harvesting. * Post-emergence: Applications made post-emergence will result in variable control. In such cases the addition of Paraquat 200 SL as a tank mix applied prior to the emergence of the cane will give a higher degree of control. Method of Incorporation: Soil Incorporation: In order to obtain optimum results from the use of PARABAT EXTRA 660 WP, it is essential that the product be incorporated into the soil profile with rainfall and / or irrigation. The interval between application and incorporation should not exceed 7 days.
