2 Dear SODIC Family and Friends, I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday season and are now fully recharged for For us 2012 was a challenging year, but we are extremely satisfied with the results reflected in terms of construction, delivery and new project launches, all highlighted in the coming pages. Most importantly we are very happy with the market s vote of confidence in us, reflected in our growth in market share, demand for new project launches and big acquisitions and deliveries in projects such as The Polygon and Forty West. We continue to believe that the secret to this success lies in the basics: good products, reliable execution and delivery, effective facility and asset management and true respect for our customers and obligations also promises to be a big year - most of our projects are going into the delivery stage and some will begin to see significant occupancy and the commencement of life. We are also planning multiple new project launches and will, hopefully, be finally starting on some totally new projects and geographies. The competition began on Facebook, and competitors were shortlisted from 59 contestants to 11 finalists.

4 Another Successful Home Fair Reflections of yourself Mirror Competition The winning mirror by Gazbeya El Hamamsy The 2 nd place mirror by Sandy Sawiris Second annual Home Fair Grand prize raffle winner Guests during raffle announcement November 9th marked the second annual Allegria Home Fair and was once again a great success! A wide selection of home solution exhibitors were present to set homeowners on the right track to finish their homes, in addition to live street entertainment and a variety of activities for kids and adults alike - it was truly a fun-packed day for the entire family! We believe in the impact of art on communities and believe it should be part of our every day lives. We also know that many Egyptian artists have great unlocked potential and are thirsty for a medium to express their talent. With this in mind, SODIC launched a mirror competition which called on talents of various backgrounds to create a unique mirror design. The competition began on Facebook, and competitors were shortlisted from 59 contestants to 11 finalists. The finalists were judged by a panel of experts at the Allegria Home Fair and the top five winners received various awards including a trip to Florence as the grand prize. All in all it was a fun experience for everyone involved! Grand-prize winner, Gazbeya El Hamamsy, in her own words: It s been a thrill competing in this event, it shows the enormous talent in our community; I saw a lot of very cool ideas from the other competitors. My experience of putting the pieces together and finding the parts in a scrap yard in Cairo was great fun. Thanks again for all who voted for me and much respect to the other competitors. Special thanks to SODIC for putting together such an exciting competition for aspiring artists as ourselves.

5 Marble Symposium Where art meets nature Following the success of SODIC s first international art symposium featuring metal statues, we recently launched our second symposium, which allows 15 of Egypt s most talented sculptors to experiment with different concepts of marble bench designs. Finished benches were displayed at the SODIC headquarters where artists and art lovers gathered for a cocktail closing party on November 10th, in the coming period they will be distributed along Allegria s 8km long art trail. The work varies in scope from plastering and sanitary works to complete demolition and refurbishments. Leading this is Mrs. Moshira Seleim, who was La Mere De Dieu s Art Teacher & an Artistic Director in Rosa Magazine. The children draw and express themselves and their surroundings through different forms of art. While currently there is no fixed space for teaching, an arts centre is planned, and in the meantime the children use their homes or public areas to express themselves under the guidance of Mrs. Moshira. Roads & Landscaping The road works, street lighting and civil works have been completed in all zones, with handover of infrastructure by the contractors already completed for Zones A, B and F in early December. The installation of sidewalks and planting of street trees has been completed in zones A, B and F and is in progress in zones D, E, G and in Phase IV. General landscape works in zones A and B have been substantially completed and are progressing well in zones F and G. Landscaping works for the signature parks is currently in progress in zones A, B, F and G, with the first signature park (in Zone A) scheduled for completion by February Triple Play We are proud to announce that the fibre optic network is now connected to the residents homes in Zones A, B and F, and trial provision of Triple Play services has started. Connection of units in Zone G is in progress, with the remaining zones to follow within the coming period. Art & Fitness Trail The second art symposium was successfully concluded at the end of November, resulting in a collection of functional art pieces made of solid marble which are currently being prepared for transfer to their final destinations within Allegria. Installation of equipment for the first two fitness areas on the trail in Zone A has been completed and is now in progress in several other areas. Gates The initial three gates have been completed on time, with gates 1 and 9 currently fully operational; all other gates are currently under construction.
