4 Why undertake an HCD Study? Study objective The West Queen West HCD Study is a detailed analysis of the Study Area in order to understand its: History and evolution built form and landscape Historic character cultural heritage values This will establish a basis to determine whether there is sufficient integrity and character-defining elements to merit the designation of one or multiple Heritage Conservation Districts.

5 WQW HCD Study Outcome The final deliverable of the WQW HCD Study will be a report on the analysis and evaluation of the appropriateness of an HCD(s) within the Study Area. The HCD Study Report will recommend: a strategic approach to conserve heritage resources within the Study Area The identification of any areas within the Study Area for HCD designation a list of buildings within the Study Area eligible for individual inclusion on the City s Heritage Register in areas not recommended for HCD designation other heritage policy tools, such as urban design guidelines
