The different factors which affect us can be divided into two groups. The first group is the internal thermal climate. Aparticular temperature is required, depending on the work we are doing. This means the addition of heating in winter and a possible need for cooling in summer. Another expression of internal climate is the so-called atmospheric climate. This has to do with air quality, e.g. unpleasant smells, gases and vapours or dust of various kinds. Every time we take a breath, we take about half a litre of air into our lungs, and it is vital that this air is clean and fresh. Pollution in the air may be harmful to health, and in respect of this there are legal restrictions which contain more detailed requirements for air quality. This may entail substantial demands for air changes and filtering. Excessive air humidity will usually also be perceived as unpleasant, and also affects the growth of fungi and bacteria. This can be seen in the designed-in long service life of all components, and in the ease of servicing. DanX can be combined in different ways to meet the needs of every situation, whether it is a question of industrial, comfort or swimming pool plant. DanX for swimming pools is further described in a separate 12-page brochure. DanX units are constructed in a solid framework or in modules which are joined by a simple rail system. Common to all units are the integral heat exchangers in anodised and epoxy-coated aluminium, which are also resistant to aggressive gases. Beneath the heat exchanger is a non-corroding run-off tank for collecting condensate. Filters can be built into the fan/filter section or into a seperate filter cabinet. Also a mixing section is available for the DanX. DanX is available in six sizes, with air capacities from 2,000 to 32,000 m 3 /h, while Dantherm will also supply equipment for air conditioning of smaller or greater quantities using other types of unit.

6 DANTHERM THE EXPERTS IN VE OUTSIDE BUILDING INSIDE BUILDING DanX WITH HEAT PUMP One of the big advantages of DanX units is that they can be supplied with a heat pump, thus giving extra energy savings, the possibility of cooling in the summer period and dehumidification in the swimming pool model. Depending on preferences and needs one or two compressors can be included in the system. WINTER OPERATION In winter operation the heat pump after the heat exchanger recovers additional energy. The cooling circuit is designed such that the evaporator is located in the air exhaust, and here the remaining heat content is absorbed. Via the compressor, this is delivered at a higher temperature to the condenser surface, which is located in the air intake. SUMMER OPERATION In summer operation the cooling circuit is redirected so that the evaporator and condenser surfaces effectively change places. In this way, fresh air to the interior of the premises can be cooled and thus contribute to greater ambient comfort. The diagram shows the principle of the DanX unit with heat pump in winter and summer operation. The figures shown are given by way of example. CONTROL DanX units are automatic and computercontrolled. The units have internal electrical connections leading to an integral electrical control box, at which external connections are made to terminal strips using multi-pin plugs. Great effort has thus been made to reduce installation time and at the same time ensure that all functions can be tested at the factory before delivery. Where two compressors are included in the heat pump unit, heating and cooling is controlled individually in each compressor, so that temperature regulation is always evenly controlled. 6

The table at the bottom of the page shows the most important dimensions of each module. When planning air conditioning and ventilation systems, more precise calculations are required. Equally, more detailed information is required of the different components.
