Expendable materials 2.2 Thread-locking Loctite 222 purple (Thread-locking) No Loctite 222 is designed for locking and sealing of threaded fasteners which require normal disassembly with standard hand tools. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. For disassembly in rare instances where hand tools do not work of execssive engagement length, apply localized heat to nut or bolt to approximately 250 C. Disassemble while hot Loctite 270 green (Thread-locking) No Loctite 270 is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Typical applications include the locking and sealing of large bolts and studs (M25 and larger). For disassembly apply localized heat to nut or bolt to apprx. 230 C. Disassemble while hot. 2.3 Thread-sealant Loctite 542 brown (Thread-sealant) No Loctite 542 is designed for the locking and sealing of plastic and metal pipes and fittings. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Remove with standard hand tools Loctite 5331 white (Thread-sealant) No Loctite 5331 is recommendet for use on plastic pipe threaded fittings carrying hot or cold water.
