7 Backwash Device Type RSL-EKF For the fully automated backwash of closed gravel-filter-systems, e.g. type EKF, which are installed between well pump and pressure boiler, and for the (available-for-retrofitting) automated regulation of the pressure cushion in the water boiler. Suitable for both retrofitting or third-party-installations. Consisting of: 1 backwash machine in plastic casing with integrated SIEMENS small-control-system for the prograing of backwash times, with hand-0-automatic-choice-switch 1 automatic backwash valve, connection 1 ½ made of glass fiber reinforced PA-plastic, with integrated magnetic pilot valve (directly controlled) with manual control and customizable flow limits 1* flap-float-valve made of plastic for installation in the boiler, with 3 m cable, connection ½ outside, max. 6 bar (*2 switches with pressure-cushion-regulation-option) Magnetic valve 230 V, 50 Hz. incl. check valve and installation material for automatic air backfeed in case of pressure shortage in the water boiler (pressure-cushion-regulation-option) Equipment of the well pump and intermediate pump with their respective motor protection switches and a pressure switch on the boiler has to take place on site. Functional Description: In delivery status, a time-controlled forced backwash is pre-installed to take place once a week, at 2.00 in the night, to ensure system hygiene. Depending on the used amount of water (adjustable), an additional backwash takes place, also time-delayed at 2.00 at night, and if necessary even daily. If necessary, a backwash can also be initiated manually at all times. After initiation of the backwash, the pure water contained within the water boiler is flushed backwards through the opening of the automatic valve into the drain, until the laterally inserted flap switch in the boiler reacts and the backwash valve closes. Afterwards the well pump is turned on again as often as necessary until the turn-off pressure of the pressure switch is reached and the automatic valve opens again. The (changeable) number of these backwash runs is pre-selected at 4 per backwash, regardless of the required duration. Accordingly, initiation of the system is easy and requires a minimal amount of adjustments. For the option with pressure-cushion-regulation a second flap-switch is installed at the top of the boiler, which automatically supplements a deficient pressure-cushion via a magnetic air valve. If a INDUWA-Oxidation-air-compressor is installed, it takes over and ensures the necessary pressure-air-provision. Otherwise, a customary, oil-free compressor station is necessary.

8 Air-Cushion-Regulation For the automatic check and correction of the air cushion in pressure boilers of gravel-filtersystems. For the service and, in particular, for the proper backwash in gravel-filter-systems, a correct air cushion within the pressure boiler is essential, especially if an automatic backwash system is installed. Furthermore, unnecessary on/off-switching of the well pump is prevented, which goes easy on the pump. Correction of the air cushion is achieved by either a preexisting oxidation-air-compressor or an external (oil-free) compressor station. (Sleeve exists in appropriate height on every standard boiler). During the filling of the pressure boiler, the float valve checks whether the filling level exceeds the target level. If the maximum filling level is exceeded during the automatic filling, a magnetic air valve is opened automatically, until the well pump is turned off again via the pressure switch. During this time, either the compressor for oxidation air or an external unit sends air into the boiler. This process is repeated until the float switch does not react anymore und thus enough air is contained within the boiler.

9 OKF-Level Control For the control of a well pump in pressureless gravel-filter-systems via a dynamic-pressuremembrane-switch. Functional description: The intermediate pump, which sucks the water from the pressureless filter container, is turned on and off by the pressure switch on the pressure container. As a result, the water level in the OKFcontainer decreases repeatedly and has to be refilled by the well pump. Since the well pump constantly delivers more fluid than the intermediate pump sucks off, the well pump has to be turned on and off again and again. This pump control takes place via a height-adjustable dynamic-pressure-tube, which is iersed into the container from above, in combination with a stationary membrane-pressure-switch (ca. 10cm hysteresis). The well pump is switched on and off directly by a contactor, with a maximum switching capacity of 20 A. The motor protection switch for the well pump is to be provided on side.
