Heat King also saves on labor, speeds preparation and lowers energy costs by as much as 80%. Vapor Barrier R15 Insulating Vapor Blanket Barrier Frost Frozen Ground Using Heat King Ground Thawing! Remove all surface ice and snow from the site. Place polyethylene vapor barrier over the frozen ground. Failure to do so will lengthen the time required to complete the thaw. Evenly place the loops on the ground up to maximum for the unit. Spacing is determined by the depth of the frost. Generally use all the hose on the reel, even if not needed, this will speed the thaw. Cover the hoses with a poly vapor barrier and poly clad insulating blankets to keep the heat and the moisture directed to the ground. Use at least R15 worth of blankets - the more blankets, the better. The 2 coil heaters warm the environmentally friendly propylene glycol in the reservoir to 180F. The field pump circulates the heated glycol through the field hoses and back to the reservoir for reheating. Do not stop until all the frost is removed or the water will not be able to drain completely away. Page 3
