To activate cooling products, water is first absorbed by the product s cooling fibers or polymers. Cooling occurs when the moisture within the unit evaporates, creating a cooling sensation for the wearer. When activating, you may use room temperature water. The products must be exposed to air movement to facilitate cooling, and are meant for use over other PPE garments. Absorptive materials help to keep the sweat and the sting out of workers' eyes while trapping and moving sweat for a safer, more comfortable job with fewer distractions. To use, place the activated phase change pack in the torso garment and wear it against body. The cold temperature begins to be transferred to the wearer as the latent heat is absorbed by the Phase Change material. The material begins to turn back to a clear liquid as it deactivates. Reactivate as needed.
