4 Bellows - The Multiplicity of Diversity Wherever things are moving there are risks of injury: in the personal sphere with game devices, carousels and training devices or in the industrial sphere with machinery and plant. Bellows provide simple but effective protection in a multitude of forms. VulcaFlex Bellows* We have vulcanised bellows in standard dimensions in stock. You'll find all the sizes in our online catalogue. From 50 units upwards we'll be happy to manufacture for you from a drawing or sample. Rubber Disk Bellows* These bellows have the best Lmax/Lmin- ratio of all bellows: 1:15. This achieves a long pull-out and the smallest possible compression dimension. They are absolutely tight. Individual production or small series. DipFlex Bellows* These are manufactured from thermoplastic using a dipping process. We already have ~2,000 tools available, which may already include your bellows. Otherwise we'll make a new mould, be it for individual parts or small or medium production series. Velcro or zip fastening also available. Fabric Bellos* Very robust. Individual production according to specification. Large selection of materials. High heat resistance. Sewn-in stiffening rings and tucked-in spiral springs provide dimensional stability. Velcro or zip fastening also available. Leather Bellows* Leather was the material used to produce the first bellows. Today there is still hardly a better material when it comes to durability and flexibility of movement (including oscillations). Individual customised production. 5 Guideway Bellows - From Accordion to Machine When the first bellows were made for musical instruments, probably no one thought that later on they might be used as the protective elements of choice, such as guideway bellows, safety guards, protection against aggressive liquids, against radiation, or to prevent crushing by lift tables, to name Guideway bellows as the name implies protect guideways against premature wear by preventing them from being contaminated by dust, chips, slag, sweat splash, tinder, oil, coolant etc. They reduce downtimes and repairs. Above all however they protect operating personnel against injuries, e.g. as safety guards or anti-crush protection. Guideway bellows are thermally welded or sewn depending on the chosen material. Limiters or scissor systems are added in accordance with the acceleration and speed. The same applies to box-type bellows and apron-type bellows. The application and the environmental conditions of a guideway bellows, box-type bellows or apron-type bellows determine the choice of materials. A polyester material coated according to requirement is our standard. For high-temperature applications we use special fabrics with corresponding coatings. Guideway bellows which are exposed to filings, sparks, sweat splash or powerful coolant jets are equipped with stainless-steel protective blades. 6 Wipers Sounds like Cleaning Right first time. Our wipers are designed to keep guideways or slide surfaces clean. They protect valuable machinery against the intake of contaminants that could have an influence on high-precision production processes. If you need wipers for your machines or replacement wipers for steel covers, you can probably find any wiper you need in our range. We've put together a selection of our bestsellers for you on our Web page. Besides guideway wipers and replacement wipers for steel covers we offer moulded wipers for serial requirements which we manufacture from a drawing or sample. If it's individual pieces you require, we recommend custommade wipers produced from standard lengths. These are cut to size and pinned or welded. Wipers for linear guides: we supply these ready to bolt on for almost all linear guides. Simply let us know the manufacturer of the guides, and we will be happy to make you an interesting offer. 7 Protective Roll-Up Covers - From Simple to Complex Industrial protective roll-up covers are primarily designed to offer operating personnel at a machine or plant a safety guard against injury. Protective roll-up covers also prevent particles of dirt and chips from getting into places where they could cause machinery to malfunction. Industrial protective roll-up covers function similarly to the window roller blinds we all know. They are simply more robust and their spring mechanism and band materials are adapted to their working conditions STEINBOCK industrial roll-up covers are available Without housing simple safety guard, reasonably priced. With housing the housing protects the winding mechanism against mechanical damage; a wiper can be installed on the housing to keep the cover band clean. With a steel band the steel band version is appropriate if chips are involved which would damage a textile band. With an aluminium apron cover ideal if robust protection is required (see page 8). 8 ProFlex Apron Covers - From the Thinnest to the Thickest Roller shutter apron covers on processing machines or manufacturing cells prevent people being injured by flying filings or loose tools. ProFlex apron covers are made from natural colour hardanodised high-quality aluminium profiles. They help reduce the risk of accidents and offer your machinery optimum protection against dirt, filings and cooling lubricants. ProFlex apron covers are available in 3 assembly types Profiles connected with PU hinges the smallest apron is only 3 mm thick, the most sold 5.5 mm and the largest hinged apron is 8 mm. They are also available with a flat surface. Interlocking profiles These profiles are available in 7 mm, 14 mm and 25 mm. With a type of tongue and groove system, the aprons consist of interlocking profiles that also make them suitable for use on laser machines. The 14 and 25 mm aprons have also been successfully used for walk-on applications. Profiles riveted to a carrier band This is the tried-andtested light version apron: half-segment aluminium slats riveted to a highly tear-resistant carrier band. Optionally there is also a combination with steel or brass profiles. ProFlex apron covers are supplied with mounting angle or solid end pieces. They can be moved manually, as a roller cover with a winding mechanism or with a motorised drive. We will also be happy to supply with the lateral guides for them. 9 Telescopic Steel Covers The Heavy Armour Steel covers are indispensable when the guideways of intelligent or expensive machinery are in need of protection. A work piece can sometimes make a dynamic escape and often leave a dent in the steel cover, but the sensitive guideway usually remains unharmed. Telescopic steel covers have been in use for over 50 years. They replaced guideway bellows in areas where solid protective elements are needed and bellows are no longer equal to ever more demanding and larger machines with higher chipping capacities. The last 50 years have also seen serious developments in telescopic steel covers. We need only think of the mastering of higher movement speeds, damping and guide elements, water channels, guide scissors, or wipers for dry processing, to name but a few. Our telescopic steel covers bring all these developments together. But we're not resting on our laurels in this respect; we're always striving for greater perfection. 10 Coolant Hoses Cheap is Easy: We Do Quality Admittedly, coolant hoses are only concerned with protection to the extent that they accurately send cooling lubricants where tools need to be "protected" from getting too hot during the production process. Coolant hoses comes in three varieties: Original FlexoLine high-quality POM articulated hose with ¼", ½" and ¾" opening. Successfully on the market for 25 years. These are precisely adjustable, positionally stable, pressure-stable, easy to lengthen or shorten, and universally combinable. EDM compatible. PowerFlex nickel-plated steel version. These have proved their worth in demanding environments and where sharp steel chips accumulate. The robust, long-lasting hose is completely tight, and kink-, fatigue- and vibration-proof. Positionally stable up to 5 bar. Our C version (high pressure) as high as 160 bar! SealFlex galvanised steel version. Ideal for liquids up to 260 C, although their special winding process means they are not pressure-resistant. 11 Accessories - For Coolant Hoses Stopcocks screw connectors high-pressure nozzles magnetic feet: can be ordered online. Stopcocks, Hose Connectors We distinguish between ball valves (regulating valves) with a T-handle and with a long lever. Both versions are available with 2 inner threads or with one inner and one outer thread. They are each available in sizes 1/4" 3/8" 1/2" and 3/4". The T-handle version is also available in the 1/8" size. High Pressure Nozzles High-performance machining requires high demands on coolant supply. We can help! With high-pressure nozzles up to 70 bar working pressure. When screwed in the nozzles can be turned by 360. The angle can be adjusted with a hexagon socket key. Once set, the nozzle remains constantly in position. Strong Magnetic Feet Among other things, for coolant hoses with 2 connected threaded bores of 1/4" or 3/8".
