If any shipping damage is detected, it is important to file a claim with the shipping company prior to continuing the installation procedures Read the entire Installing Your Cycling Module section to familiarize yourself with the components and procedures before performing the Air Dryer Cycling Module installation Verify the installation location of the Air Dryer Cycling Module: Well ventilated and free from abrasive dust or chemicals Meets the following power requirements: 120 ±10%VAC, 1 Phase, 50 / 60 Hz Max 10 amp service Notify the alarm center of the installation and potential for alarms during the process (as necessary). NOTE: If ANY SHIPPING DAMAGE is detected, file a claim with the shipping company prior to continuing the installation procedures Loosen the fasteners on the Front Panel and then swing open Check for loose parts or wiring. 12 6.5.4 Place the Air Dryer Cycling Module at the operating location Mount on rack using optional part number P (with included hardware). OR Pre-drill holes in wall with a ¼ drill bit. Mount on wall using included wall mounting anchors and screws Attach and secure the DB9 cables routed from the Air Dryer Interface Kits, starting with Dryer #1 on the left. Page 12 of 56

13 6.5.7 Wire an external wire pair to the included Power Fail Alarm Plug Insert the Power Fail Alarm Plug into the Power Fail Alarm Socket Plug the power cord into a 120 ±10% VAC, 1 phase, 50 / 60 Hz power outlet Power the Air Dryer Cycling Module ON. 17 8.2 Powering the Module ON & OFF CAUTION! Incoming power to cycle module must be 120 ±10%VAC, 1 Phase, 50 / 60 Hz with 10 amp service max Power Switch -Controls the main power to the module When the module is first turned ON, all 8 LED s will be illuminated. The LED s will remain illuminated until the initial setup of the Air Dryer Cycling Module. Once the Air Dryer Cycling Module is setup, the LED s will display the status of all the dryers connected. ONLINE Indicated with a green LED. This will visually show which dryer is running. STANDBY Indicated with an amber LED. This will visually show which dryer is in a standby or emergency backup mode. ALARM Indicated with a red LED. This will visually show which dryer is in an alarm. Page 17 of 56

18 8.3 Using the Front Panel Display CAUTION! The Display Screen is covered by a clear protective layer that guards against Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). (S)tandby, or (E)mergency Backup. Connecting to Your Cycling Module 10.1 Connecting via IP NOTE: Connecting requires that you use a computer that is on the same network as the Air Dryer Cycling Module Install the network cable into the UTP port of the Air Dryer Cycling Module Open Internet Explorer In the Address text box, type the IP Address of the Air Dryer Cycling Module. 35 10.2 Connecting via Dial Up Install the telephone cable into the TEL port of the Air Dryer Cycling Module Open the program PGWebPage.EXE. Page 35 of 56

36 Dial Setup Click on the Magic Wand icon on the toolbar. This opens the Dial Setup dialog box Select the appropriate Serial No Port used by the Modem on your computer Select the Baud Rate Click on the OK button Creating a Phone Book Entry Click on the Phone Book icon on the toolbar. This opens the Phone Book dialog box. Page 36 of 56

37 Click on the ADD button. This opens the Site Setup dialog box Type an identifying name for the site in the Site text box Type the primary phone number for the system in the Phone text box. Make sure to include a 1 for long distance and the area code if necessary. Don t use spaces. Ex Click the OK button Connecting to the Air Dryer Cycling Module Click on the Connect icon on the toolbar. This opens the Phone Book dialog box. Page 37 of 56

38 Click on the Phone Book entry for the system that you want to connect to Click the Select button. The computer will now attempt to connect to the Air Dryer Cycling Module. Once connected, the status at the bottom of the window will display Connected and the status of each dryer will be updated. Page 38 of 56

39 11. Using the Remote Interface 11.1 Status Screen The Online column shows which dryers are currently running. This is indicated with a green circle The Standby column shows which dryers are currently in a standby mode. This is indicated with an amber circle The Alarm column shows which dryers are currently in alarm. This is indicated with a red circle In the Reset column, the word Reset will appear in blue text. This will occur when a dryer shows an alarm. To remotely reset the air dryer you must click Reset and type in the password. (You may use either the maintenance or system level keywords.) 40 The Alarm Date/Time column shows the date and time the alarm occurred The Status column shows the current status of the air dryers. Green indicates the air dryer is running. Flashing Green indicates the dryer is being exercised. Amber indicates the air dryer is either available or is a backup dryer. All Flashing LED s indicates the dryer is in maintenance mode The Model column shows the model of the air dryers being cycled. The colors coincide with the current status of the air dryers The Cycle Mode field shows the current mode the air dryers are being cycled. The choices are: 24hr mode 48hr mode Days (MTWTF) The Next Cycle field shows the next day and time the dryers will cycle The Current Time field shows the current date and time in a 24hr format The Minimum Number of Dryers Online column shows the number of dryers that must be online at all times The Roster column shows the current configuration the air dryers will cycle. This is dependent on how many dryers need to be online at all times and which dryers are considered emergency backup. Page 40 of 56

41 The Skip Weekends column shows if the Air Dryer Cycling Module has been programmed not to cycle the air dryers on the weekends. This is indicated with a Yes or No Cycle Setup Screen NOTE: Once a change is made and the Accept button is clicked, the user will be prompted to enter a keyword. Only the System Level Keyword is allowed to make any changes The Status column allows the user to configure the air dryer status from the drop down menu. The user may choose Running, Available, or Backup (emergency backup) The Model column allows the user to input the type of dryer that is being cycled. Place the cursor in the empty field and type in the model number. Page 41 of 56

42 The Minimum Number of Dryers Online field allows the user to set the number of dryers that must be online at all times from the drop down menu The Set Next Cycle Time field allows the user to set the next date and time the dryers will transfer. Place the cursor into the appropriate field to change the date and time. The time is shown in a 24hr format. The Set Cycle Mode filed the user to select a cycle mode from the drop down menu. The user may chose 24HR, 48HR, or DAYS NOTE: If DAYS is chosen, the user must choose the day or days that the dryers will transfer by clicking the mouse on the days of the week The Set Dryer to Maintenance field allows the user to choose a dryer they wish to maintain from the drop down menu. Once the dryer maintenance is completed the user may clear the maintenance mode from the drop down menu The Set Dryer to Exercise field allows the user to choose a backup dryer to exercise from the drop down menu. The user can also choose the shift of 8hr, 16hr, or 24hr. If the user wishes to end the shift early they may do so by choosing clear in the drop down menu The Set Skip Weekends field allows the user to program the air dryers not to cycle on the weekends from the drop down menu. If DAYS is chosen on the Set Cycle Mode, skip weekends is not an option The Set Alarm Delay field allows the user to program a 0 10 second delay before the Air Dryer Cycling Module will respond to a dryer alarm before bringing another dryer Online. 43 11.3 Reporting Set Up Screen The Reporting Setup Screen allows the user to add an or a pager for dryer cycling. It will contact the customer on any scheduled or non-scheduled air dryer shift. NOTE: Once a change is made and the Accept button is clicked, the user will be prompted to enter a keyword. Only the System Level Keyword is allowed to make any changes The System Name allows the user to enter the name of the central office where the Air Dryer Cycling Module is located The Address column allows the user to enter up to three addresses the module will send information to The Description column allows the user to enter a description of the address. 50 14. Troubleshooting Your Cycling Module 14.1 Before You Call PUREGAS PLEASE READ THIS SECTION FIRST. It is important that you use the following sections in order to diagnose and attempt fix the problem with your Air Dryer Cycling Module before placing a call to PUREGAS Technical Support. This troubleshooting guide is intended to simplify the isolation of problems, present possible causes, provide test procedures for verification, and suggest corrective actions to restore the Air Dryer Cycling Module back to normal operation. Each section begins with the most likely cause(s) of the issue. Otherwise, they start from the simplest possibilities and progress to more complicated ones. This troubleshooting guide is designed to be easy to follow and very effective when used properly. It is suggested to always start at the beginning of the specific problem section and continue in sequence, following the procedures indicated Safety & Warning Information WARNING! For your safety, all the information in this User s Guide must be followed to minimize the risk of electrical shock, and prevent property damage or personal injury. WARNING! Internal surfaces may be hot. Use care when coming into contact with internal components as there is a potential for some of these components to become hot when in operation or standby. Not included are the components subject to normal replacement during a year s operating time. No claims for labor in replacing defective parts or for consequential damages will be allowed. Replacement parts will be invoiced in the regular way, with invoices subject to adjustment after the parts claimed defective are examined at our factory. In addition, no material or parts will be accepted at our factory for in-warranty repairs or credit without previous authorization from PUREGAS. Responsibility for damages incurred in transit will be borne by the user and the user in turn should file any damage claim against the carrier. All warranty items are F.O.B. Broomfield, Colorado. Freight charges are the responsibility of the user. This warranty shall not apply to any PUREGAS product which shall have been repaired or altered in any way by anyone other than PUREGAS or authorized personnel so as to affect, in our judgment, its proper functioning or reliability, neither will it apply to any product which has been subject to misuse, negligence, or accident.
