3 SAFETY NOTES Qualification These assembly instructions are intended for qualified expert personnel only. Intended use The intended use is described in the operating instructions of the machine. The installation of add-on equipment will not change the intended use of the machine. Before starting assembly Place the machine on a firm ground. Kill the tractor engine. Apply the hand brake. Pull the ignition key and put the key away. Make sure that all moving parts do not move anymore (rotating parts may coast for a while). Make sure that neither the tractor nor the machine can roll away. Secure the working area in such a way that other persons do not present a danger or are endangered. Observe the local accident prevention regulations. Observe the warning signs (pictograms) on the machine, even if they are not referred to in the assembly instructions. General safety instructions for assembly DANGER Hazard of severe and life-threatening injuries due to pinching, pulling, squeezing of the whole body and escaping high-pressure hydraulic fluid. Wear tight fitting clothing and personal protective equipment such as safety goggles, gloves, safety shoes and a hard hat. The assembly work has to be carried out in exactly the same sequence as described in these instructions. Do not weld, cut, grind or drill the frame, axle or other supporting parts unless particularly specified. The mounting of the add-on equipment changes the overall weight of the machine and, depending on the equipment, may change the outer dimensions. Be aware of the outer dimensions when driving on public roads. Place a sufficient ballast load on the tractor. At least 20% of the overall weight has to rest on the front axle. Make sure that nobody stays between the tractor and the machine during assembly or coupling. When the point of coupling is invisible from the place of the driver, make sure that a reversing assistant is available. Do only stay between the tractor and the machine when both units do not move anymore and have been secured against rolling away. Make sure that the support legs are set to the correct height and are secured as prescribed. Do not stay in way of high-pressure hydraulic fluid that may escape

9 Removing the covers WARNING Danger of injury as a result of tripping and falling down! Always use the steps, grips and handrails when climbing or climbing down the machine. Always use the handle when opening and closing the cover and always hold on to the handrail (if existing) with one hand. When opening and closing the seed hopper and during work inside the hopper make sure you stand firmly. Handle Opening of the seed hopper cover. Use the handle. 13 HINT The assembly of the agitators is almost identical for all Vitasem seed drills. The length of the shafts, the number of shaft bearings and the number and design of the agitator fingers depend on the type of drill and the type of agitator. 22 Before starting the assembly of the drive, make sure that all agitator fingers face downwards. Agitator fingers Agitator fingers Before starting assembly of the drive, the chain has to be removed and replaced by the chain delivered. The cover should have been removed. 23 Remove the chain joint of the "old" chain. The closed end of the joint has to always to face the direction of travel. 32 HINT When the pendulum agitator is not to be finally adjusted tighten the screws fingertight and turn the agitator fingers until the longer fingers touch the front wall of the seed hopper as shown below. CAUTION Danger of severe damage! When the linchpin is incorrectly placed the seed drill drive may be destroyed. When the pendulum agitator has not yet been finally adjusted the linchpin must be placed in "idle" position as shown. = For the description of the correct adjustment of the pendulum agitator, see section "Pendulum agitator". 37 Mount the delivered chain together with the chain joint. Chain joint (closed end) Chain joint (open end) The closed end of the joint always has to face the direction of travel. Direction of rotation For the description of the correct adjustment of the pendulum agitator, see section "Pendulum agitator". Adjusting the chain tension: 1. Loosen the chain tensioner. Increase the chain tension and tighten the chain tensioner. 2. Check the chain tension. The chain is to have a play of 5 mm. Adjust chain tension, if necessary. 3. 38 INSTALLATION SITUATION OF THE AGITATOR DRIVE Without agitator For the description of the correct adjustment of the pendulum agitator, see section "Pendulum agitator". With agitator NA_1100_ _Antrieb_EN

39 Upon completion of the assembly, the gearbox cover has to be closed. To close the cover: 1. Turn the knurled screw until the slot in the head is in horizontal position. 2. Slightly press against the locking mechanism until the screw engages audibly. 3. Pull the knurled head slightly to make sure that the screw has properly engaged. Handle Close the seed hopper. Use the handle and hold on to the handrail. Handrail Fold the ladder upwards and secure the ladder before road transport and before operation. See section "Operation" of the Operator's manual. A To adjust loosen both TS screws The plastic block (K) must sit free from backlash in the lever recess Turn the agitator shaft clockwise by 90. Insert linch pin S into hole 2b and secure Application: Exclusively for non-flowing grass seeds and mixes Observe when setting! The measurement 6-20 mm for connecting rod and cam (P L) in flat angle position Attention! Always ensure the linch pin S is in the correct position otherwise danger of collision will occur 1000-GB PENDELRÜHRWELLE_

41 Final inspection - Check all screwed connections and plug-in connections for perfect condition and tight seat. - Upon completion of the assembly, grease all lubrication points for the first time as described in the maintenance instructions (see operating instructions) and check the oil level of all gearboxes, etc. Fill up, if necessary. For suitable lubricants consult the maintenance instructions, which are part of the operating instructions. Carry out trial run - Hitch machine to a suitable tractor (see chapter Attaching in Operator s Manual). - Check that all hydraulic and light fittings are functioning properly. Before setting to work - Check safety devices for completeness and correct function. - Read the operating instructions carefully and make sure that all safety instructions are observed _MA_Kontrolle_EN
