The Problem Overheating or overcooling problem areas? As heating and cooling zones grow larger budget constraints cause multiple work spaces to be controlled by a single thermostat. This causes system efficiency to suffer and occupant complaints to increase. Thermostat Wars result as occupants attempt to adjust the thermostat to their own level of comfort. Receptionist Areas & Entry Ways These spaces are typically exposed or open and cooling is often dumped in this area which causes overcooling problems and receptionist discomfort. Offices Often times, people inhabiting offices in the same zone have different requirements for comfort. This can lead to Thermostat Wars as well. Conference Rooms Peak cooling is needed for larger meetings, but not during normal use or when unoccupied. Building owners don t want to pay to cool during unoccupied times, nor do they want a full-blown zoning system. East/West Exposure East side building exposure is too hot in the morning, then cold in the afternoon. Then conversely, the West side building exposure is cold in the morning and too hot in the afternoon. Without proper zoning, this can lead to discomfort.
Performance Aire offers three VAV comfort solution packages. VAV Thermal Diffusers While energy costs continue to rise, VAV Thermal Diffusers remain an energy free solution to individual comfort control. No wiring, pneumatic piping, or added system pressure is required. Our diffusers are self-contained with the thermostatic control device and damper in each diffuser. Existing systems are easily upgraded with the various diffusers available. Our square and linear diffusers have been providing occupant comfort in offices, schools, hospitals and retail centers for over 25 years. VAV Digital Electronic Diffusers Our VAV Digital Electronic Diffusers incorporate a modulating damper that regulates the volume of supplied air in response to a wall mounted thermostat. The diffuser automatically senses the need for heating or cooling modes. It can be installed as a master/drone with up to 36 drone diffusers for each master (zone). BACnet digital thermostats are available as an option. Control of the diffuser is via a wall-mounted thermostat, enabling users to set desired comfort control from desk top level. VAV Air Terminal Units Performance Aire VAV Air Terminal Units are designed to regulate the flow of conditioned air in a distribution system. They work equally well in constant and variable volume systems. Control is via a low leakage single blade damper seal for use in pressure dependent and pressure independent applications.
VAV Thermal Diffusers Square Plaque Solution General System Applications SC square diffusers are applied to cooling only VAV systems requiring high volume/short throw. SCAH square diffusers are applied to cooling only VAV systems with an adjustable warm air volume control override. SCVH square diffusers are applied to provide cooling and heating VAV control where the application requires a high volume/short throw. Control functions that automatically adjust temperatures in individual workspaces. No control wiring, pneumatic piping, or added system pressure required. Existing systems are easily upgraded with the various diffusers available. Separate and adjustable set points for heating and cooling. Easy access set point adjustment. Diffuser constructed of 24 gauge sheet steel. Architecturally pleasing, blemish free hemmed face panel. Cone shaped diffusion damper. 10 year warranty. Easy access to set point adjustment. Separately adjustable set-points for VAV heating and VAV cooling control Induction Path > Diverts a small amount of supply air causing the induction of a sample of room air to be drawn through the induction trough directly across the temperature control sensors.
VAV Thermal Diffusers Linear Slot Solution LAD General System Applications LAD linear diffusers are applied to provide horizontal cool air/vertical warm air diffusion for exterior spaces when room temperature control is not required. VACH Application of LAD Diffusers The application of the LAD diffuser over entry doors is highly recommended. Vertical warm air flow will greatly enhance the comfort level in the same fashion as an air wash. VAC linear diffusers are applied to VAV cooling room temperature control systems. VACH linear diffusers are applied to provide horizontal VAV cooling/vertical VAV heating room temperature control for exterior spaces. Automatic change over knows when to adjust the flow from horizontal cooling to vertical heating. Existing systems are easily upgraded with the various diffusers available.
VAV Digital Electronic Diffusers Square Plaque Solution General System Applications SE-HC-M The Performance Aire VAV Digital Electronic Diffuser incorporates an internal modulating disk that continually regulates the volume of supply air in response to a wall-mounted thermostat. The Performance Aire VAV Digital Electronic Diffuser is designed to maintain the Coanda effect of discharging air along the ceiling, providing draft free mixing throughout the space. SE-HC-M The model SE-HC-M VAV Diffuser includes a diffuser and modulating actuator. The SE-HC-S can be used as an auxiliary damper when wired to a SE-HC-M diffuser actuator in applications where more than one diffuser is required in a single zone. Up to 36 drones can be added to one master. Diffuser Actuator Wall-mounted thermostatic control. Individual zone control from a wall mounted thermostat. Powerful, low voltage actuator. Floating-point actuators are standard. True variable air volume in heating and cooling modes. The diffuser effectively regulates the amount of supply air into the space and uses a wall mounted thermostat to achieve true VAV control in heating mode, as well as cooling mode. Automatic change over from heating to cooling is standard. S-T Thermostat The Performance Aire S-T Thermostat is designed to work with the modulating zone control system and the stand-alone modulating zone damper and diffuser. S-T Thermostat NETstat Thermostat The Performance Aire NETstat is a BACnet enabled thermostat that combines a controller, multiple sensor options and BACnet networking into a single, integrated space-mounted device. The NETstat thermostat offers a unique, cost-effective combination of networking, application and sensor options, along with easy, intuitive installation, configuration and operation. NETstat Thermostat
VAV Air Terminal Units Single Duct/Round Retrofit Solution General System Applications Model PH Series Model PH Series Single duct air terminal units, model PH are designed to regulate the flow of conditioned air in a distribution system. Single duct air terminal units work equally well in constant and variable volume systems. The Model PH Series is recommended for use in duct systems with static pressure up to 4 wg. Ductwork Units can be specified with hot water coils, access panels, control enclosures and multiple insulation choices. A low leakage single blade damper with integrated blade seal for pressure dependent or pressure independent applications. Available in sizes 4 to 16 round and 20 x 16 rectangular inlets. VAV Box Model PT Series Model PT Series The round retrofit air terminal unit model PT is designed to regulate air flow of conditioned air in single duct or dual duct air distribution systems. The round retrofit ATU is also used to provide positive or negative pressures in laboratory flow hood applications. The Model PT is primarily used to convert constant volume single or dual duct air terminals to more efficient variable volume air terminals without disrupting the total system operation. The round retrofit ATU is easily installed into existing ductwork in front of the existing air terminal. Available in sizes 4 to 16 round.
