And this is exactly the goal we are ursuing with our new fan for mechanical vaor recomression. The evaoration and distillation of fluids in industries is an established rocess for the roduction and rearation of different roducts and substances. But this method is very energy intensive, because heating steam is needed for the oeration of a evaoration system. This heating steam will be transorted unused from the condensers after the rocess of evaoration to the environments. The most effective ossibility to use vaor and to reduce costs is the use of mechanical vaor recomression (MVR). Here, the heating steam will be comressed with the hel of a MVR fan. Through the raise of temerature the heating steam will be made useful for the evaoration. This leads to a closed circuit. As long as there is no interrution, no live steam has to be sulied. Only the electric energy to run the fan has to be alied. This energy requirement is considerably under the energy requirement of the live steam roduction. Fields of alication for MVR Turbo Fan. But TLT-Turbo engineers have analyzed existing concets and made, through extensive dialogue with its customers, necessary imrovements. 4 Reliable - Otimized - Innovative. A hybrid bearing at high seed without out circulating oil? Does this work? The answer is yes! The oerating conditions of high ressure MVR fans require tailor-made solutions regarding the imeller design. Due to the seed-controlled oeration and the high rotational seeds the rotor dynamics have a high relevance. The initial situation. The requirement to oerate the fan in a broad oerational seed range without running into harmful resonance frequencies (under critical oeration) leads to the result that conventional roller bearings are not fully aroriate to fulfill this task. In order to facilitate the high required bearing stiffness, comaratively large diameter bearings are needed. On the other hand these large diameter bearings are not fully suited for high imeller seeds. In addition, oversized bearings have the roblem that they may not roerly roll in the roller bearing races due to the low and insufficient secific loads, esecially at quick seed changes. In this case it leads to unwanted sli in the bearing which will reduce the lifetime of the bearing. Already many years ago roller bearing systems with an additional external daming (so-called squeeze oil damers) have been develoed in order to solve this issue. In this case an oil-filled annular ga is laced between the roller bearing and the casing. Due to this oil damening the resonance frequency amlitudes will be maintained at a lower level while assing through the critical seed. In that way also natural frequencies are accetable under certain circumstances and within a defined seed range. The disadvantage of such a system is the extensive bearing design and the need of an additional external oil suly for the damer. The TLT-Turbo Innovation. Due to a continuous enhancement rocess in recent years, esecially by using ceramic materials, more effective roller bearings are available today. Particularly hybrid bearings with steel rings combined with ceramic rollers have been established in many industrial alications such as gas turbines, machine tools, and wind ower generators. Hybrid ceramic bearings will be used consistently where classical bearings cause roblems or where they work at their limits. The most imortant advantages of hybrid bearings are: Low maintenance costs Due to low oerating temeratures and the advantageous tribological characteristics the hybrid bearings are maintenance free. Insensitive to lubrication deficiency Hybrid bearings have outstanding emergency running characteristics and are insensitive to lubrication deficiency due to low friction. Higher rotation seed The maximum imeller seed deends mainly on the thermal condition in the bearing. Hybrid bearings can stand a higher rotation seed due to a lower thermal ower loss. Furthermore the TLT-Turbo MVR fan will be oerated at under the installed critical seed. Lower oerational temeratures The oerational temerature at comarable oerational seeds is lower in comared to steel rollers due to a lower friction coefficient of ceramic-steel combinations. Less wearing losses The rolling friction will be reduced as the centrifugal forces of the lighter ceramic roller are less. Oil-free oeration The bearings are re-lubricated with grease and no additional oil suly will be used. No risk of contamination of the roduct due to oil leakages.

5 Multi Stage MVR Fans. Can temeratures from more than 10 C be realized? Large temerature increases of more than 10 C can be realized without roblems by series connection of several fans for mechanical vaor recomression.
