58 WARRANTY LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY We warrant that Market Forge cooking equipment will be free from defects in material and factory workmanship for a period of one year from the EFFECTIVE WARRANTY DATE, which shall be the date the equipment is placed in service, or 3 months from date of shipment from our factory, whichever comes first. Providing the equipment is unaltered, has been properly installed, and been properly maintained and operated, we will repair or replace, at our option, F.O.B. Burlington, Vermont, that part of any such equipment that becomes defective due to defects in material and/or factory workmanship during the applicable warranty period, subject to the following limitations. Market Forge will replace, repair, or adjust at no cost any part of all equipment which becomes defective due to material or factory workmanship within the EFFECTIVE WARRANTY DATE. With respect to BOILER SHELLS only, there is an additional four (4) year prorated warranty limited to the replacement of such shells. Whenever we replace a boiler shell, after one (1) year from the EFFECTIVE WARRANTY DATE, the user shall pay a prorata share of the then selling price thereof based on the number of months elapsed from the EFFECTIVE WARRANTY DATE. There is no labor compensation when boiler shells are pro-rated. Boiler shells which have not been properly maintained will not be considered for proration. Factory inspection may be necessary. The warranty includes travel time not to exceed two (2) hours and mileage not to exceed one hundress (100) miles, round trip. 90 day limited warranty on soft door gasket. OPTIONAL WARRANTY (BOILER SHELL ONLY) (Cannot be combined with Optional Second Year Warranty) With respect to BOILER SHELLS only, there is an additional one year full warranty* on the shell when the user and/or dealer has purchased the KLEEN- STEAM FILTER OPTION from Market Forge. The second year warranty is limited to new equipment only, and the filter system must be purchased from Market Forge, Inc., there is an additional four (4) year warranty limited to the replacement of such shells. Whenever a boiler shell is replaced beyond the two (2) year EFFECTIVE WARRANTY DATE, the user shall pay a prorata share of the then selling price thereof based on the number of months elapsed from the EFFECTIVE WARRANTY DATE. Boiler shells which have not been properly maintained will not be considered for proration; factory inspection may be necessary. *Proof of properly installing and maintaining the filter system to the manufacturers specifications is mandatory to insure the EFFECTIVE WARRANTY. *Boiler shells should be descaled every days, by an authorized service agent to insure efficiency and prevent premature failure. Any parts used in conjunction with a boiler descaling (cleaning) are the responsibility of the owner/user regardless of time in use. OPTIONAL SECOND YEAR WARRANTY (Cannot be combined with Optional Boiler Shell Warranty) The cost of coverage on the optional second year warranty will be 5% of list price for each additional (12) months, not to exceed an additional (24) months. For each year of optional warranty purchased, the 5% of list price charge will be the net invoice amount. All warranty service, labor or parts (shipped or replaced) must be performed by the appointed Market Forge authorized service agent for your area. We reserve the right to disallow any request for reimbursement of charges incurred by others. Good quality water feed is the responsibility of the owner. 59 SUPPORTING YOU AFTER THE SALE Market Forge offers two programs, a Paid Start-Up and a Performace & Installation Check, to ensure our customers experience is trouble-free from the start. The following provides an overview of these programs and information on program eligibility. FACTORY PAID START-UP: A START-UP is a service performed by the Authorized Service Agent (ASA) and is paid for by the factory. The Technician will follow a detailed startup form specific to the equipment which requires that many items are checked and adjusted as necessary to meet factory specifications. The form is completed in its entirety and returned to the factory. A factory paid start-up is standard for all pressurized boiler base units to include the following models: M24G, M36G, M24E, M36E, MT-25 EO, MT-40EO, MT-6E, MT-10E, MT-6G and MT-10G. A Start-up must be called into an ASA at least 5 days prior to requiring the service. The Start-up is to be completed prior to the customer using the equipment. All required utilities and associated supporting equipment such as hoods, drains, fire protection equipment, must be in place and operational prior to starting up the equipment. Confirm prior to scheduling a start-up. If a start-up is scheduled and the equipment or utilities are not ready, the customer will be charged for the unsuccessful service call. Start-ups are to be performed between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. A Start-up covers travel from the ASA s facility to the site of 100 miles round trip. Travel in excess of the 100 miles is the responsibility of the customer. If the ASA is contacted for a Startup on equipment not sold with a start-up, it s the responsibility of the customer or the person requesting an equipment start-up to pay the ASA for the service. Start-ups can be purchased for customers requiring a start-up be performed on non-eligible pieces of equipment. Call for pricing. NO CHARGE PERFORMANCE & INSTALLATION CHECK: A Performance & Installation Check (P & I) is a no-charge service provided by the ASA Distributor on Market Forge steam products and is not to be considered a start-up. The purpose of the P & I Check is to verify the equipment is installed correctly, safely, supplied utilities match data tag, is operating properly, and the customer is satisfied with the performance. All kettles, steamers and skillets qualify for a P & I check. P & I Check is to be done after the customer has put the equipment into use. The P & I Check is expected to be completed within 10 business days of receiving a request and performed between the hours of 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday.
