This was an immediate success both for Dobbies and Cotton Traders, with customers listing the Cotton Traders concession as a key reason to visit. Openings at Dobbies Stirling, Edinburgh, Perth and Cirencester quickly followed. May 2004 Cotton Traders opens first concession with Blooms, at St Mellons, Cardiff. Blooms report a dramatic uplift in footfall.

5 October 2005 Cotton Traders opens first concession with Garden & Leisure Group at Cadbury Garden Centre in Somerset. The Board of Garden & Leisure wondered if opening a clothing concession within the centre would adversely affect sales of their own buy clothing offer. Cotton Traders were convinced that, by driving extra footfall, this would not happen. Garden & Leisure were amazed at the impact and increase in sales on their own clothing dept. Garden & Leisure quickly found space for Cotton Traders in all of their major centres, trading from 600sq ft to 1200sq ft.
