Moen; Subject: Butterfly Lake Resort application for amendment Hello Mr. Allen, My name is Jared Kelton and I share a family cottage on Butterfly Lake and have done so since Our address is 1188 White s road and we can both see and hear the Butterfly Lake resort from our property. During that time we have seen many evolutions of the population of the lake, most of which have been positive as we watch the children we saw a babies grow into enthusiastic cottagers on our beautiful lake. One of the main reasons that we chose to initially invest in Butterfly lake was the size of the lake and the care with which current property owners cared for their properties. The application by the Butterfly lake Resort is troubling to say the least. Potentially 80 new trailers with at least 160 more people, their boats and the noise generated will certainly impact both our enjoyment of our substantial investment and the value. Moreover, adding more traffic to the water will undoubtedly have a negative impact on an already fragile ecosystem and DEFINITELY affect the safety of our presence in the water. We have already seen MANY incidents of dangerous and irresponsibly boating and this will certainly continue by adding more population to the lake. I also have concerns regarding the effect of increased traffic on White s Road, the increased amount of garbage this addition will create and the visual effect form the road. To add to the list of concerns is the direct effect on the water as any new additions to the lake will need to pull water from the lake to provide appropriate service levels. In the Late summer/ early fall we noticed that graders had been on White s road to start to dig drainage ditches along the road on both sides of the resort driveway, I am curious if this is permitted construction in anticipation of the success of the application? I cannot personally attend the meeting scheduled for November 18, 2016 but I understand that by contacting you we have at least a voice if not an advocate for our concerns. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me, should you need permission to read my statement herein publically please consider this to be approval to do so. Thanks for your time and support, I look forward to hearing the positive results of the meeting tomorrow. Jared Kelton Sales Manager Succession 1
